Yeah, overall, the game is appealing, but after trying it out I did inquire if I could return my pre-order box.

I dunno, it's interesting new take on CoH but it's not much more than that. I like the new archetypes a lot, but too much of it feels like CoH with a new coat of paint. It's great if you look at it from that angle, but all that talk about how Villains are more proactive didn't leave me expecting "kidnap" missions to play exactly like "rescue" missions with different NPC chat bubbles. It's got me for the first month, then I may buy subscription cards and play off-and-on.

Has anyone upgraded their COH account for
COV yet?

The website says use the upgrade account
function, but when I try that it says my
serial code isn't valid...

I haven't done the preregister thing from
the cd that came with the preregister box
because id on't want to start a new account.

Double check you serial code Blue. I had to enter both Caroline's and mine numerous times because the printing of the codes sucked. Most 5's are really S's.

Question , What server do you play on?

In COV I will be a Mastermind, called The Middleman. He will have a british accent and doesn't like the physical combat stuff. lets his minions and reat of the team do that.

Welcome Gadget Boy! Our Legion characters are on Virtue mostly but I don't think we've decided on a CoV server yet.

Speaking of which, how many are actually picking up the game? I got both Caroline's and my pre-orders today, one regular, one collectors. I'm kind of ticked at the collectors though. It was supposed to have seven unique HeroClix figures and there were only six. One of the villains, a female who I don't know, is missing.

Hi Gadget Boy! Welcome to Legion World's CoH/CoV contingent HQ!

Our main Legion group (as Scott said) is on Virtue, but we also have Legion Super groups on Pinnacle, Protector and Champion. Next to Virtue, Pinnacle is probably the most active, fyi.

We do need to figure out where to base the Legion of Super Villains. I think we should do it on a new server (though I'll probably have Legion villains on all of them, as you all would expect ) My suggestion would be that we do it on Justice. I know there is a very active LSH group there and I think it would be fun to run into them on occasion with our LSVers. If we ever decide to get into PvP (though I know not many are interested in that here) they would be the most logical group to challenge. Another option would be to do it on Pinnacle since that SG is fairly active but not many here are part of it, so their would be some friendly rivals there as well.

I know that Giant Lad from the Pinnacle group has already made a Persuader over on Justice server so, unless anyone objects to doing the LSV there, I think that might be the best choice.

One final option, my Beauty Blaze is on the Infinity server in the Adventure era Legion SG. As soon as they announce how to switch sides (from villain to her & hero to villain, I could change here there and we could do an Adventure era LSV there.

Thoughts?

Either Justice or Pinnacle are good with me. I've got plenty of slots, especially after the extra four become available. Not sure who I want to make yet so I'll have to think on that.

Has anyone gotten the update patch yet for the headstart? It only starts in less than 5 hours and the boards are down. I thought we would have received the e-mail with the patch before now.

Umm Lightning Lad I think u can get the update now because earlier in the day I downloaded a version 10 thats quite big, that might be COV. Im not sure though but u should try.

I got that update yesterday (or the day before) but the headstart/upgrade announcement still says they will provide us with a special link for the headstart. Hopefully it won't involve any more download this late in the day.

Ya I know what you mean, I probably can't play COV till Sunday though.

I got my retail copy today but didn't upgrade it. I guess I should follow the rules andwait till the 31st to put my code in.
Also I could of installed the game from the discs but im not.

If you downloaded the 1.6 Gig patch last week, you won't need anything else (unless they have a small fix they need to do tonight) One of the rednames posted a notice to that effect on the Annoucement thread earlier today

I haven't been able to access the boards at all today so I missed that annoucement. They need to change the news page, then, since they instructed everyone to watch that page for updates on the headstart.

Yes I did get the pre order but today i got the whole version, its wierd i was excpecting it on the 31st.

If you did the preorder, go to the Manage Account section and enter the serial number in "upgrade" for your account if you haven't already done so.

Once you've done that, you'll have access to headstart tonight when it goes live. Then worry about the live version on Monday when it goes live. All you'll have to do is upgrade your account again with THAT serial number.

Right O! I am all set then. Just that I can't play tonight because I have to work at 5am tommorow. Oh well, I can't wait to smack some heroes around like an Evil P-I-M-P.

PS: Whatever you do, DON'T install the game from the discs if you've laready downloaded the huge patch file!

The discs have a much older version and you'll end up downloading that huge patch (or much of it) all over again!

I have to work tomorrow morning also. Thinking about sleeping now and waking up at midnight (eastern time) to get into headstart

You playing tonight Vee? It starts here at 10:00 pm so I'll hop on. Maybe I'll create Validus as a brute. Haven't played one of them yet.

Brutes are fun, Scott! Fury is a great concept but your defense isn't as good as a tanker (was)...more like a scrapper's defense. The damage potential for them is amazing, particularly with a buffer/debuffer teammate, or the leadership pool.

Looking forward to seeing your Validus (keeping it in the family is nice )

That's what I was thinking (the family thing). I'll create him on Justice as Garridan Ranzz, that should get by any censors.

I only got into reading the new LSH series so I have no clue who Validus is, but he seems powerful.

I should make Elysion(sp?) with earth powers. Now only if you could do the damage Elysion did in issue #10 and #11 that would rule.
