Everyone we watch with really hate Andrea, and this episode really helped cement that sentiment. My wife was shouting "Shoot her, Carl!"

Same with me--everyone I know who does read the comics absolutely HATES Andrea.

Last nights episode scene stealer: Carol! Her suggestion to Andrea was intense! She has stepped up huge this season--both character & actress--and has become a force to be reckoned with.

The funny thing is, Andrea is one of my favorites in the book. And Maggie is irrelevant in the book. Lori is despicable in both. smile

I like tv show Carl. hate book Carl.

Michonne comes off as more confused in the tv show, like she's not a native English speaker or something, rather than in the book where she seems shell shocked and mentally ill all the time.

I feel that if Carol survives this season, Melissa McBride needs to be listed among the main actors in the title sequence instead of perpetually "also starring"!

Well, maybe the fact that she appeared on an episode of "Talking" on a night when her character didn't die is a good sign! laugh

By the way, I don't 'root' for a character to die among the good guys, not even Andrea (truthfully, I can kind of understand her point of view). Not even Lori!

Hell, I find myself REALLY hoping Merle survives, as I kinda like the side we've seen of him the last few eps. Doesn't hurt that Rooker's a terrific actor, either!

ooooo two episodes later .... shit just got real ...

using the not yet cld dead body of ur friend as a shield from incoming fire ... that's some walking dead shit right there .... and beating zombies to death with a pistol ... Rick is badmuthersprokinassss ... but there's not much more fun than seeing Michonne whip out her sword and run through a field decapitating zombies.
laugh

I think the show is now ... BETTER THAN THE BOOKS!

So I've caught up with the Walking Dead ....

I really like where it is now ... lots of tension between characters ... and characters that have to work alongside each other ... despite hating each other ... because it is a zombie apocalypse.

I even like Merle on Rick's team ... its like a few badasses versus the general's big group. except Rick's team really needs sharp shooter Andrea ... not weirdo on the fence ... general's babe. She should've iced him instead of buttering him up by sleeping with him.

I can only hope the story is drawn out long enough for:

tyrese to catch wind of the General's crazy. and have it be more crazy than rick's crazy

So for me, last nights ep was the best of the season. Best writing, best acting and an incredible level of detail (specifically the set design).

Rick, Carl and Michonne all benefitted character growth wise. Well done.

Carl is actually my favorite character this season ... and this is coming from someone who hated him int he comics and season 1 and 2.

Carl is one of the only ones that has his act together. haha

I liked this one a lot, as well. Nice change of pace episode focused on only a handful of character without cross-cutting to Woodbury or the prison. Rick showed some humanity for the first time in too long and Michonne for the first time, like, ever. Carl, as always this season, is incredible to watch.

And the guest character this episode--just a searing performance that works on all levels. So many actors would have over-played or under-played that script. This guy hit it right on the mark, as he does every time I see him. Such a tragic character.

The set design was definitely imaginative and superior. I found myself wishing I could see the story being told on the walls! I doubt they will ever do it, but I'd sure be down for it!

Definitely a "best episode" contender!

I liked the bit with the hitchhiker, as it illustrated how far they've come/sunk depending on how you view their situation. It's an ironic reminder that they've gone the way Shane envisioned for them anyway.

I was sure they would have seen him as a walker on the way back, but the bit with the backpack was a great bit of dark comedy.

I don't know how intentional it was, but I found all of the bits with the hitchhiker hilarious! I mean, the three in the car don't even discuss what to do or anything--they just go! At once, both very darkly comedic and representative of all they've learned and gone through.

It was funny, but also threw a lot of things into perspective. Between the hitchhiker and the treatment of Tyrese's crew, how much are the core group the "good" guys anymore, and how much are they just the group we identify with most?

Obviously the Governor's a good degree worse, but how are Rick's group now any different than the two guys in the bar who were ready to kill them and take their stuff? Rick was totally ready to kill Morgan for his weapon until they found out who he was.

The guy who wrote last night's episode is to be the new showrunner, BTW.

Any fears I had about the new showrunner are gone.

Amazing episode, no doubt. Beautifully scripted, filmed, and acted. The chemistry between Carl and Michonne elevated the series to a new level. The tone reminded me of the subtle and classic Sopranos episode where Tony drove Meadow to a college recruiting day, and slipped away to perform a hit while spending a quality day with his daughter.

Wow, what a lame episode. Did Brian Bendis script this? Talk about decompressed filler. I get they were trying to ratchet up the tension, but that could have been accomplished without sucking up a whole episode. This just stalled things out for me, which is the opposite of the intent.

To me, this was the most dissapointing episode to date.

There were a few good moments: the fantastic Glenn / Maggie scene, Herschel playing a great role, Darryl interacting with Martinez. Even Meryl had some strong scenes.

But the overall focus of Rick / Governer and to a lesser degree, Andrea? Meh. Pretty filler stuff. I think it lessoned the tension more than anything.

Next week needs to be get things rolling again so the finale can deliver a much anticipated showdown.

It just kept feeling like the show would be much better off if Rick and the Governor just shot each other, and the rest of them could go on living happily ever after without either crazy leader.
