I had forgotten about Baltar in Caprica-Six's head. Boy, that got left hanging...

Baltar in Caprica-Six's head has not been re addressed since she was killed and came back. I wonder if the 'merger' could survive a second resurrection.
Another thought, if it is an Angel bringing Gods message, could he appear in D'Ana's mind next?

Really interesting episode. So we're still filling in the events on New Caprica. Have to admit I was getting a little frustrated with the Starbuck/Apollo thing--after Starbuck crossed the galaxy to rescue her Caprica boy and Apollo's big "I'm proud to serve with you" speech to Dualla, the two of them turning out to be passionately in love feels a bit like a retcon. I do really like how the Admiral and the President are moving towards a relationship--the respect and comfort are already there, the rest seems to be developing. And whoooo--Adama's speech at the end. Really makes you understand why Olmos keeps saying in interviews how much he likes and appreciates the writing on this show. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

I also would like to add: Why WOULD Apollo be so into Starbuck? She has gone from crazy and reckless to self-destructive and cruel. The show has so far been pretty good about running me right up to the point where I'm getting really irritated or emotional about a storyline, then resolving it or pulling back. I'm just about done with Starbuck right now--I couldn't even watch the cheating scenes, I was so mad. And I was enjoying the ass kicking she was receiving...

I wonder if maybe secretly Apollo has always pined for Starbuck, possibly at the same time as is brother Zach, but being the younger of the two he felt compelled to keep quiet.

Yes, but they seem to have done everything they could to put that relationship to bed! Figuratively....I guess they dropped some hints on Apollo's part (although Dualla is WAY hotter and cooler), but there hasn't really been any indication that Starbuck "missed" him.

You hit the nail on the head there. I was so wrapped up in the New Caprica plot I was sure Tigh and company were going to toss Gaeta out the airlock and I was going to quit watching. I totally believed they were going to go through with it. I really, really like this show right now, better any other drama I watch.

I am so far behind it isn't funny. I may wind up just buying this season on HD-DVD. Oh, but I think the Universal HD channel just started showing them. Maybe I can catch up there. Anyway, season three has been up in the air for a while now. It looked like it wasn't going to happen in favor of a series of 2-hour direct-to-DVD movies. But according to TV Guide it looks like we may get a 13 episode season three.

Once again, BSG tackles real life situations. Kinda neat how they're Star Trekking those kind of situations when no recent Trek series has had the balls to do anything of the sort. Such a great piece of writing to have Helo the "outsider" be the whistle blower. While it was characteristic for Tigh to blow him off, I was a little surprised that the Old Man and the Doc blew him off too. Didn't seem in character for either one, especially in the light of the relationship Adama and Agathon have developed. Also neat to see how a family of three is forced to live on a Battlestar. Makes you believe the desire of so many to live on New Caprica. Oops, Baltar's back in Caprica's head! And f---ing with her just like Baltar's being f'ed with!
Just 13 episodes, and that was in question? How could SciFi NOT want more of this show--it's virtually the only buzz they have! How many TV movies can they make of the monster of the week?

I read somewhere that for the fourth season of any series the costs usually come closing to doubling. But if they were willing to do a series of movies I don't know why they would just do another season. We get more show and they can sell more advertising. I'm just happy we'll get 13 more episodes.

Actually. I'd guess that it's less about whether or not there'll be a season 4, and more about figuring out how many more seasons are left, to finish the epic tale. Like Lost, it's got to have a beginning, a middle and an end to be considered a truly great television event. It can't go on endlessly lest they risk losing the audience and damning the series to peter out onto oblivion, so they've got to start thinking about closing the loop and calculating for just how much longer they can build and continue the momentum.

Once again, best show on television. Maybe its due to the couple of drinks or the fatherhood aspects of it, but I was nearly in tears during several parts. So much more than a space opera. Also really great to fill in more of Adama's back story. Go, Adama/Roslyn! Maybe once Earth is found, they can find that cabin in the woods. Although--who would really be surprised if Adama, like Moses, sees the promised land but doesn't reach it? Chief/Callie: I'm glad we've got that relationship back on track. The marriages on BSG are less than perfect (like all real marriages), but Chief was starting to turn into a dick. Hopefully his priorities will be back in order. This episode also reminded me again how much pressure everyone is under on this show--Adama, Lee, Chief, Callie, the pilots--in a completely inhospitable environment. It's like living in a submarine! Or a couple of hundred submarines....

Hmmm...is buzz dying down on this show?
So now we've got class warfare, and the Chief has his Norma Ray moment. This ep seemed a little contrived to me--has there been any mention of these issues involving rich vs. poor colonies before? And would anyone who lived through New Caprica listen to anything Baltar had to say? Especially knowing that he had collaborated with the race that had nearly killed the entire human race? It was fun, however, to see the high and might pilots coming down and getting the shaft from the "knuckledraggers," especially Starbuck, who I just don't like anymore.

It's getting too bogged down in the post-New Caprica, Baltar trial storyline. No doubt it'll kick back into high gear once the cylons re-appear, but that can't come too soon if you ask me.

Two days later, and I'm still really upset. I want to talk about it, but I also want to respect spoilers for everyone who possibly hasn't seen this last week's episode.
Side note: Rerun on Sci-Fi tonight. I'll be watching because there have been some rather tantalizing discussions on other boards regarding where this storyline is actually going, and I want to see if I can pick out some of the clues.
Oh, and if you're upset, don't listen to the podcast this week. It sounds like Ron Moore's mind is pretty made up.

The actor has already given an interview and admits they are in a new pilot for NBC. Should the new show get picked up they would not be available to come back

I've got to believe there's more to it than how it was left, I just don't think it's something we're going to be privy to until the series comes to its eventual end.

Come on Kippers, or someone, spill! I've only gotten to see the first two episodes this season and will probably wait for the DVD. What happened?

The actor would have to be released from their current contract (which is 5 yrs) to be able to work on the series, if that pilot were picked up. Of course, I'm playing devil's advocate here... I think it's likely that if the character comes back at all, it will be in guest spots only. And that sucks, but if they build a story off of it like I know they can, it will be worth it. Ron Moore is referring to this ep as the first steps toward the beginning of the final act of BSG. I can only hope that these events inform the rest of the series, from an acting and a writing standpoint. Also: This week - 41,400 souls in the fleet. Next week - 41,399 souls in the fleet. I always get a little shiver whenever they show that script across the screen (and the swearing-in of Roslin) but I think next week, I might actually cry a little bit. I'm reminded of how in Return of the King (the novel) Gandalf says there are names among them that are worth a thousand lives apiece.

Man, I hope the DVD release is one set and not two, like season two's was. I can't wait. Thanks Jeff!
