when i was watching the show, it said at the bottom
NOW WATCHING BATTLESTAR GALACTICA SEASON FINALE
so it may be coming back in the new year, but it seems its a new season not the second part of the second season.
That being said, i did read an interview on SCIFI and in it it said the pegaseus would be around for a few(maybe just 2 i cant remember) episodes, and i cant see them giving up info regarding the finale so early, not to mention the surprise of the return of the pegaseus.

Anyone remember when a new "season" started like clockwork the first or second week of September, and you had new episodes every week without fail (even on Christmas Day!) until about the end of March? When there were so many episodes, the rerun season would consist of the "better" episodes (usually), so a lot of stories, if you missed 'em the first time, you might have to wait until cancellation and syndication to see 'em?? It happened with LOST IN SPACE!)
I swear, these days I have trouble keeping track of not only when something's on, and when it's new, but even WHICH SEASON it is. I mean, I haven't been counting... but I'd swear this WAS the end of the 1ST season-- not the middle of the 2nd!!! (The "Lost Planet of the Gods" cliffhanger would have been in the MIDDLE of the 1st-- by my recollection...)

I just had a sick thought... A year after the original BG debuted, producers Glen Larson & Leslie Stevens got another sci-fi show on the air. Is it beyond imagination to think we MIGHT soon see an "updating" of... BUCK ROGERS IN THE 25TH CENTURY ???

Thinking back... I saw the BUCK ROGERS movie in theatres... 3 TIMES!!! I only saw MOONRAKER (the same year) once. That really says a lot-- about each.
Compared to BG, BR was never meant to be taken TOO seriously. It was just... "fun". They planned a series of 3 TV-movies, but at the last minute, re-edited the first one and tossed it in theatres. Then they changed their minds again, and decided on a weekly (the SAME kind of hemming-and-hawwing that doomed BG early on). When I saw the RE-re-edited pilot on TV, I was SEVERELY disappointed. How could they take something I'd enjoyed that much (despite some glaring flaws) and totally ruin it? They added about 15 minutes... cut a scene or two, cut some of the best dialogue (including the infamous "I'm freezing my ball-bearings off" by Mel Blanc), they CUT the shot of Buck KICKING Tigerman in the crotch (DAMN TV CENSORS!!), moved at least one scene around... and replaced the opening theme song. AUGH!!!
Then the show got so bland afterwards... I never watched it regular that season, except when Pamela Hensley turned up. I watched the TV version of the pilot a couple years ago, and was amazed at how Hensley, as Princess Ardala, turned in what I felt was the ONLY really decent acting job in the whole show. DAMN, she was good. (AND hot!)
I just cleaned up my old LPs of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and BUCK ROGERS (both by Stu Phillips) and put together a CD "twofer". Apart from the disco songs (GAG!), they're pretty good after all these years.

Great finale. But why didn't Adama go to the Prez to plead his case? Doesn't she have some authori-tie here? Or would we assume that Admiral Ro wouldn't go along with that?

My only complaint about BG is that every so often people act in ways that seem really stupid. For instance, Adama's momentary descent into fascism, then complete u-turn. This conflict seems a little trumped up--surely in this near-extinction situation, even military leaders could put their disagreements aside and work together....but it's still my favorite current show.

I figured I'd put this here, rather than starting a new thread... 2230 NOW ONLINE! "GALACTICA" Parody-Tribute Posted At Zodiac Comics Site!!! Camden, NJ, December 19, 2005 After more than 20 years, STORMBOY's publisher has decided to reissue the rare "2230" #1 FREE at the Zodiac Comics website. Creator Henry Kujawa talks about his latest side-project... "As previously announced, 2230 #1 is now online in its entirety for anyone who wants to read the complete story. While basically a tribute / parody of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and STAR TREK combined, there's also elements of McCLOUD, F TROOP and THE MONKEES-- plus cameo appearances of various other characters. I guess you could say this was my celebration of many of my favorite TV shows, all in one place. "Eagle-eyed readers may notice the name Jim O'Donnell Jr. in the credits of the last few episodes. My best friend, who passed away from a heart attack 5 years ago, often liked to suggest story elements, and it was his idea to do a tribute (and psuedo-sequel) to no less than 3 different Glen Larson-written episodes of McCLOUD. "This Must Be The Alamo", "Return To The Alamo" and "The Night New York Turned Blue" all involved Sgt. Joe Broadhurst (Terry Carter) being left in charge of the precinct, and the disasters that befell him each time. I've always thought of Sgt. Broadhurst and Col. Tigh as being basically the same character-- except in GALACTICA he got a promotion. "I long maintained that GALACTICA would have been a bigger success if they'd focused more on soap-opera than expensive special effects, and this is reflected in my story. The success of the current redo on The Sci-Fi Channel has proven how right I was! "In fact, there's one particular scene in my story that was rather 'intense' for a supposed parody. Imagine my astonishment when, recently, a scene ALMOST IDENTICAL to it turned up in the last episode of the season of the new BG-- complete with an onscreen "content warning"! I guess it shows just how on-target I was when I did my tribute, more than 2 decades ago. "I'm still planning to post the unpublished 2230 #2 online-- as time permits. Between my own projects and working on a sci-fi movie with Nick Cuti, it's been tough finding spare moments to re-letter all these old pages. I hope enough people enjoy what I did that it's worth it!" F***ing WOW!!!!!
Col. Tigh's BEST line of dialogue so far in the entire series: "Another one of her half-assed stunts... THANK THE GODS!"
Meanwhile... it looks like I called it AGAIN! I just didn't expect it would be Laura who'd come to the SAME conclusion about Kane as I did, first. And by the last 5 minutes, it lokos like she was RIGHT!
I knew this wouldn't be wrapped up in only 2 parts...

I was really hoping Adama would come to some other conclusion and as a leader, be the better man somehow. While not as exciting, wouldn't Kane's decision to execute civilians be a crime of some kind, allowing her to be court martialed? I can't believe "it's war" excuses everything by their laws.
While the hand holding the gun to Kane's head in the preview looks like Starbuck's (with the green flightsuit?), I almost wouldn't be surprised if her second turned on her in some way - he seemed torn up about killing those civilians (and as opposed to Kane, he actually saw it happen).
Awesome episode! The "back 10" look to be another amazing run!

Good point! But then, Adama has only RECENTLY "come to his senses" (my view on it). It wasn't long ago he was very much of a similar mindset as Kane. I don't expect her to be capable of making the same "leap", unfortunately... (Really, I just want her DEAD!!! I haven't wanted a woman on a tv show DEAD this much since Servelan on BLAKE'S 7!)

You never know... This show has continued to surprise me, and yet some of the surprises have been how MUCH my own way-out "what ifs" turned out to be dead-on accurate. It's fun feeling like I'm on the same wave-length as the show's writers at times.
The 1st time around, I kinda "knew" Kane (Lloyd Bridges) and his Pegasus wound NOT be around past the 2-parter. That proved correct-- but the surprise was having the new character, Sheba (Ann Lockhart) become a regular-- in mid-season! (NOBODY in the 70's did that sort of thing.) I am fully expecting Kane to get killed-- SOMEHOW-- before this is over-- but as for her ship...??
I CONTINUE to be amazed. They're making me LOVE this show! (And considering how much I really HATED it when it started... wow!)
Oh... don't the "coming attractions" really feel like a throwback to the 60's STAR TREk coming attractions? Instead of showing you so much of the story there's almost no point in watching (just about any tv shows from the 70's-up), they're showing brief clips-- out of sequence-- out of context. It makes it look VERY exciting-- very "must-see"-- but you STILL have little idea of EXACTLY what's going on! Cool!

Best show on TV? I think so. Great twist with the resurrection ship. If they take that out, they no longer are quite as screwed.
Interesting to watch Starbuck coming around to Kane's POV somewhat. Is that why she's got her hair all slicked back?
And did anyone see the behind the scenes show? It's free on iTunes. Apollo has an Aussie accent in real life! Now I have even more of a man crush on him....

Unlike the original show, where each actor appeared onscreen with their name, I've been watching the new show from the beginning, and apart from Olmos, have NOT been able to connect the names of actors and characters-- UNTIL the "behind the scenes" special. It was surprise to find out Apollo was British (or something-- heehee). I was also glad to see they really DIDN'T blow any major storylines or surprises. It was more a "catch-up" for anyone coming in late, which considering the complexity of the storyline, was a good idea.
I find Katie Sackoff MUCH more attractive in real life than she is on the show! (But then, she was just about the only character in HALLOWEEN 8 that I liked... those sick BASTARDS!!!)
