Cage does give some stellar performances when you least expect it, but when you're really looking for him to nail it, he leaves you high and dry. The biggest thing he does is the "Nick Cage flip-out sequence" in just about every movie. He's been doing since Moonstruck and now its almost like its his own private joke. "I'm! About! To Lose! My FEEEEREEEEAAAAAKINGGGGGGGGGGG Mind!" With full on hand motioning.

Travolta does his own annoying things too. When he's trying to be cool, he's just so the opposite of cool.

Julia Roberts rocks though. So does Brad Pitt. Whether they are super-famous or not, I really don't care, but they sure can act like nobody's business.

Oh and Adam Sandler reminds me of Jerry Lewis. Seems pretty darn successful but I can't remember why. Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore were great but by his third movie it was obvious he was going to keep doing the same thing. Even the Waterboy was funny, but after that I had already lost interest. Now when he first started out and started releasing his albums (when I was 14 years old), he was edgy and cool and that was awesome.

YES! AMEN! And I'm as straight as can be! I can't stand her!

The first time I really saw her was in a magazine spread in Rolling Stone, including this picture. It just scremed trashy. There was actually a worse one but I can't find it.

Barbra Streisand. I'm sorry, I think it's the nose.

Adam Sandler/Rob Schneider-I believe they are the same person.

Billy Bob Thornton-I liked The Astronaut Farmer okay, but otherwise, no.

Randy Quaid. Goofy only goes so far.

Five years later, I've softened on all of these. Sheesh... what a judgmental little 35 year old I was.

All three are strikes against a movie for me. Don't mistake softening for senility Ex! smile

Five years later, I'm still distraught that Power Boy called my first crush Jennifer Connolly unattractive!

Did I?

I'm sorry! The funny thing is, I actually just watched her in a movie last night, called Stuck In Love and ... I was really taken by how great she looks.

I remember I used to have an adverse reaction to her mostly because ... she showed her hoo haa in like three movies i saw in a row ... and it was ... i shan't say no more ... but it traumatized me ...

I remember her fondly from Labyrinth, and would probably rather not see her flashing stuff. I was happy to see in Ang Lee's Hulk that she still looked as young and beautiful as ever (unlike Liv Tyler, in the next Hulk movie, who had terrifying giant veiny man-hands! I thought she was going to rip Ed Norton's tiny angry head right off when they were going in for a kiss!).

My second favorite young crush was Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's girlfriend and Lily, from Legend).

I agree with this.

I avoid Seth Rogen now, especially after Green Hornet. He just annoyed me so much in that movie.

Brendan Fraser is usually a warning flag for me too, I'm just not fond of his brand of humor. Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Adam Sandler are also red flags for me.

And don't get me started on Eddie Murphy.

As with others above, I also find Tom Cruise a tad overrated though I don't actively avoid.

I was about to write a Costner diatribe, but it sounded awfully familiar, and lo and behold, here there it was already:

And as his ego and clout grew, this was ususally to the detriment of the movie. My Father-in-Law loves him, probably for the same reasons I don't, and I've had to excuse myself from several painful movie sessions (especially his sports themed ones which amplify the problem even more).

I can now add the fact that he completely ruined Pa Kent as another tick against him.
