Whoo hooo! As I understand it, due to the strike we will only be getting 8 episodes this season.
Just spouting off.

Looks like it. I think they creators knew this was coming. Carlton Cuse is on the WAG negotiating committee, or something. As I understand it, episode 8 ends on a cliffhanger.

I've been gearing up to watch this. Rewatching season 1 currently and reading as much as I can about Lost on Lostpedia.

Cobie, yeah I've been on Lostpedia all this week and my head all this information...and I still can't figure out squat! That is why I can't wait for season 4! I like reading the episode pages on lostpedia to make sure I didn't miss anything.

You conspiracy theorists might like to try out Oceanic\'s new website. I haven't had time to get past the first bit, but I hear it's interesting.

Jorg, I also reccomending pestering Arachne with all Lost releated questions . She's my 'go-to' when it comes for answers or directions to places where I can find them Eryk too! I really hope there's some way we get the full 16 episodes we were promised. Is there still a possibility? Or are screwed?

Maybe if the WGA strike ends REAL soon, Des...but it's not looking likely, I'm afraid.

That reminds me, though, there's a new Entertainment Weekly interview with Mathew Fox out. There should be a copy of it at the spoiler site I linked to in the first post. He says on a least one occasion this season, they've filmed alternate versions of scenes. I really hope there's some way we get the full 16 episodes we were promised. Is there still a possibility? I don't think we're going to get 16 episodes this season, either, I'm afraid. Everyone involved with Lost seems very committed to it, though. I'm sure they'll do what they can.

Just a reminder, it's been moved to Thursday nights in the States, and early in the night.

Here's it's the 8pm (EST) slot, just before Grey's Anatomy. That's opposite that other island show- Survivor

I've just watched all of season 1 and half of season 2. I've been reading Lostpedia like a madman. (i may go mad)
I always thought they were in limbo. Now? I think it's the future. The Others may be the last humans on Earth? Certainly time travel is involved.
It wouldn't suprise me if most of the survivors are somehow put back into the plane as it is going down. Sounds crazy I know. Lostpedia references lots of real life books as influences. And well it just makes you think a bit...too much. I might take a sail boat to the South Pacific alone!!!

I saw Season 3 actually. And I know what happens. But I still think the Island is the future...far future. Atleast this week I do.

So, this season's off to a good start I thought. Spotlighting Hurley out the gate was probably a wise choice to ease back into things. Jack or Locke would have probably annoyed me more than intrigued me. Hurley's so naturally sympathetic; I felt sorry for the big guy.
Sigh, only 7 left. Hope this strike is resolved soon.

At the very pit of the winter's trough, Lost comes dropping in like a lifeline to a world of warmth and feeling. Right now I would join Jorge on that sailboat.
It was a very good episode tonight, with the flashforward actually clueing us in to lots of interesting things, unlike Jack's "hidden" ff in last season's finale. Only six make it off the island, we know that 3 of them are Jack, Kate and Hugo, and they are sworn to secrecy about what happened. But they aren't the only ones left alive. This ff clearly takes place before Jack's. This Jack is only drinking in the morning--not yet taking Limbauhcontin--and not yet bearded (but considering it).
Someone remind me, though, are all the Others dead except for Ben and Juliet? What about eye-liner guy?
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

The remaining others went to the "Temple" (whatever that is) at the end of last season.
I thought it was a solid premiere, but wasn't completely wowed by it. But the flashforward worked extremely well, and really provided some interesting clues about what will happen.
Any guesses on the rest of the six? Is one going to be the person in the coffin?
Oh, it's important to note that they were referred to as the "Oceanic Six", so it's possible non-Oceanic people (Juliet, Desmond) wouldn't be counted in that.
