Although the mice do eventually get used to them, so you have to move them around a bit. The other recommendations are also useful: steel wool in the holes, traps, cats, keeping everything clean... One thing nobody's mentioned is this: apparently mice don't like peppermint. So if you sprinkle peppermint essential oil around, that could drive them off. Legion Abstract
