Would you prefer your favorite comics be made as TV series, rather than films? Talk about those here!
Me? I want to see Vertigo's Scalped turned into an AMC TV series! I think on so many levels, that this show NEEDS to be made.
If you're not familiar with Scalped, it dramatizes life on an Indian reservation called the Prairie Rose. At its core its about the res's Chief Red Crow and all the crime he has embraced to improve the health of the res. It's also about Dash Bad Horse who returns after a lengthy absence Click Here For A Spoileras a secret agent sent to help bring Red Crow down.
There are so many great characters and layers of great storytelling that would make for an excellent ongoing drama. I think we could also stand to see dramatized some of the realities of modern Indian culture and see something that's a lot less Caucasian-dominated, eh?
Scalped has layers and layers to it and if done properly, would have a noirish and character-based texture to it. In short it could be the very best TV series ever made if given a chance!

I think GCPD could make a good show. I think alot of DC and Marvel's non-superhero properties could be extremely successful.

I'm with you on Scalped for all the reasons you've listed.
For a television series, I'd prefer it to be more drama-heavy and less action/effects heavy, mainly because the action & special effects on television shows always look like crap. So it'd really have to be the right franchise.
I've always wished HBO would do a Preacher series.
Chew is a natural, and I think that is already in production. (Or was it as a movie?).
Superhero wise, some of the Golden Age series in my opinion would be much better suited for television, such as Wildcat, with a heavy boxing element in correlation to the superhero element.
Daredevil is a superhero series that would definitely work for television, with a heavy crime / noir element, and a lot of Catholic symbolism, as well as courtroom drama and connundrums. It's also heavy enough drama-wise for TV. It would be great on FX.

Y the Last Man as a tv series ... it could be taken straight from the stories.
I Zombie as a tv series ... ditto.
The Authority i think ... back in the day it was cutting edge .... or even better Squadron Supreme ... (maybe better as movies maybe not. Authority or SS might be a nice mini series). Exploring some of the implications of living in a world of super powers where people try to change the world.
or kIngdom Come could be a nice movie trilogy!!!
These are all pretty big budget CGI stuff though.
I heard Y the Last Man is gonna be a movie but ... I really don't see how it could possibly work.

Oh, a Jonah Hex series, either on FX or HBO, would be awesome. It'd have to be a pull no punches Hex though, and none of that nonsense from the movie.

off of what Cobalt said .... (I also prefer drama heavy stuff for tv)
'JSA: the Golden Age' graphic novel /tpb (?) is one of my all time favorite reads, and it has very little super heroing ... and all those great 40-50s clothes! I think it's work better as a long movie though.
Also, Hellblazer might make a nice late night tv series.

Hex would be a natural! Unfortunately, that trainwreck of a movie probably killed that possibility. On the other hand Buffy had a second, more awesome life as a series after the movie blew chunks. So...maybe?

Sandman Mystery Theatre would be a great series. Would have to be on cable though. Period piece touching on the beginnings of a heroes career.
Easy Co. Featuring Sgt Rock and crew. All the regulars plus guest stars to be in and out in a few episodes, or a season.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

I could see an Our Army at War season Dev, on hbo or showtime.
Supes, Zatanna could totally work, even being a bit cheesy / teeny / funny. Anne from Community could totally kill it as Zee!

I would love to see a Zee TV spree. That said, the lady that played her on smallville was knockout nuts good in the role. I'd like to see it.

"The Question" - controversial investigative tv reporter with a penchant for espousing personal philosophy who breaks the law once in awhile while wearing a featureless mask to hide his famous face while tracking down the story. I like all versions of Vic Sage, whether it be the Ayn Rand, zen or consripacy theory versions - any of those could work.

Something else else along the lines of what they did with "Band of Brothers" would be an awesome way to go. you could follow them through meeting up with the basics of the WWII DC stable...The Losers, The Haunted Tank and the Unknown Soldier to name a few.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

John Constantine as a supernatural type show could work. I would say do it on HBO or Showtime so it could be a little bit grittier than if it was on network TV.

I've had the thought that Johnny Thunder could work as a sitcom. A bit like "I Dream of Jeannie" with a magical pal instead of love interest.

Why, the LEGION of coarse silly! Aaaaand if that was too complicated for the limited minds in Hollywood, how about a show that focuses on magic? So maybe Zatanna/Zatara, Dr. Fate, even Phantom Stranger would be kinda cool They tried a "Doctor Strange" TV show back in the late 70's I think it was, maybe early 80's? It never really caught on but I remember I really liked the show and the actor that played him (don't ask me who) did a great job!

Etrigan Space Cabbie (A Twilight Zone-y type show) Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade The Herbie Popnecker Chronicles Dial "H" for Hero (Oh- they already did that. It's called "Ben 10")
Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

Matt Wagner's Grendel and Mage would be great. Greg Rucca's Queen and Country would be a wonderful follow up to the Sandbagger's series that inspired it. And James Robinson's Starman series is tailor made for TV; it mostly avoids the spandex, which is a problem in live-action superhero shows and movies and features much more complex characters and storylines than most superhero books.
