No prob, Blue. After I finished the tutorial, I decided to create a new Johnny Thunder. So now I have J. Thunderbolt - the all purple (and ugly) Johnny and Johnny T. - the regular-looking guy in a green suit and with blonde hair. Both are Magic Defenders with Empathy/Energy which I just realized is Mystical Mysa's powerset on Virtue. I have to stop copying you guys's characters.

BTW, did you guys know about the badge you can get in the tutorial? If you kill 100 of the contaminated thugs, you get an Isolator badge. You can usually find a team to do this with so it doesn't take as long. I met two people doing this with my second Johnny and decided to team up with them afterwards.

LOL.
Good for you, SLK.
The news on my front isn't good ... every time I try to restart COH I get the same results. I've rebooted my PC and turned it off and nothing seems to do me any good. I've even sent off a report using the option that it gave me, though past experience with such things on other programs suggests I'm never going to get an answer from them ...
I may try to uninstall and reintall COH, but I bet that doesn't do me any good either ...
Sigh. I hate being without my Herocrack...

Yeah... 8-( But on the other hand, I may just console myself by ordering that Alienware Machine I've been promising myself for the last year or two...

Did you install the new RAM today that you mentioned going after? It may be that. Try uninstalling the memory and then running CoH again.

Just curious, why woud additional RAM cause a connection problem?

He's not just having a connection problem. His error involves some DLL files too.

I reinstalled the old ram and it did work this time ... at least it got into the login screen. Right now, all the servers are shown as being gray ... I checked the website and it reads as all the servers being down atm, so it's not me. This is sprockin' unbelievable ... why would MORE ram cause a problem?!

It might not be the additional RAM but the type of RAM. Did you try running any other memory entensive programs with the new RAM? You may have actually exceeded your mother board's limit which would still allow you to operate but will cause issues with programs.
Caroline's machine says it takes only up to a Gig of memory but a bunch of sites list the mother board as being able to take 2 Gig. I don't know which to believe.
Servers went down last night while Caroline was playing. She actually got a message that said 'Severs being taken down' or something to that effect. And all the door missions were screwed again.
Did anyone else notice that they messed with the influence and dropped the amount being given out by civilians for a rescue? We were getting over 100 (sometimes much more) for rescues but now, at least the little I played yesterday morning, the amount has dropped back down to pre-update levels.

And the box that my PC came with says it can handle up to 2 gigs of ram, and this only brings me up to 1. What would be another memory intensive program?

Another game. Those are usually the best for memory eating. Media Player has its moments too. Anything that'll make the fan kick on.

Herocrack is the only game I have installed atm ... 8-) I reinstalled the new ram, and so far it's working again. I'm probably just going to have put the old memory back in, but it kind of bums me out to think that computers are so darn delicate. If a car would fail to start every time you put a different brand of gas in it people wouldn't stand for it, but computer manufacturers get a pass on that sorta thing... Anyway, I ran Al Pratt a bit more today and got him up to 4. I like the energy melee better than the super strength power set ... you don't knock them around so you don't have to chase them all over creation.

You people who have Columbus Day off make me sick! I just thought of something else you could have tested with. Any of your DVD burning software. It would have cost you a DVD but then you could have been sure it was the memory. So you didn't have any problems after reinstalling the new or are you still using the hold memory?

I'm still trying out my new memory. I've been able to play the game, but it sure hasn't fixed my lost connection problem. I've lost it twice on the same mish now!

Maybe then your problem just happened to coincide with the other issues going on last night. I'm still not sure that more memory will help keep the connection, most like an ISP problem.
I can't remember. Do you have cable or DSL? Could be too many people in your area on the same system and it just kills your connection.

I have cable.
I suppose that anything is possible...
I got Al through the mish on his third try ... for a while there I thought he was going to be stuck in his own personal Ragnerok, doomed to fight the 5th column for that painting for all eternity!

Bah. It did the same sprockin' thing again. I had to take the new RAM out to get COH to boot again. I'm just going to take the new RAM back. It wasn't fixing my problem-- it was just making things worse!

That really bites. Anyway, my arm is starting to feel better and there's no good TV tonight so I'll probably make to Paragon City tonight. Anyone got any plans in PC tonight? Infinity? Virtue? Freedom?

I'll be there. Sounds like Blue wants to run on Infinity to level Star.

Ah, fun with time zones. By the time I logged on, no one was on anymore. I soloed Brainy, hoping to get him to level 12 but he really doesn't have enough firepower and I spent several hours getting him a couple bubbles away from 12.
I'm debating what new power to take... part of me is thinking another energy blast would be nice so that I can do more in battles. OTOH, Disperson Bubble becomes available and it's one of the key FF powers. I've gotten used to Force Bolt with my Mind Controler, the knockback is useful. 'course, Recall Friend will also be really nice, especially since I realize I could use my personal FF to scout.
Hm, would it be too awful for the TF if I don't take flight at 14? Dispersion Bubble and Recall Friend might be the most useful for the TF.
