So I guess this question has to be asked ... well, I'm going to ask it because it's on my mine:
When will we have our first Infintiy TF? 8-)
And has the Protector Legion died? Doesn't look like there's been a lot of action there lately ...

The mobs have a level range depending on where they are. However, most often a mob will spawn in level based on the player who spawned it. So, if the mobs range in level from 26 to 29 and you are level 26, you'll see a mix. If you are level 29, you will almost always see only level 29s. This is good, street fighting less than whites is a waste of time. But, it means you want to be as alone as you can be. If you have lower-level players running around triggering the spawns, you will find yourself frustrated with lots of greens and blues."

I enjoy groups more than soloing so I won't be taking his advice about being "as alone as possible" but for our Legion (& other) group's purposes, it sounds as if the higher level heroes should be the ones scouting ahead so we get higher level mobs. I seem to recall somebody telling everyone this when we were in Boomtown on Wednesday.

Glad to hear they are finally giving us the option of running Outbreak. If they weren't going to do that they should at least give a different training option.
And what is the Smoke Grenade bug? I've not heard of it.
Thanks for all the great info Lyle!

Thanks for all the great info Lyle! From what I recall hearing, the Smoke Grenade makes it ridiculously easy to take out bad guys ...

Hey! I caught up with Prism and we ran around Skyway massacering Trolls We were able to level Prism to lvl 14 and he now has group invis, which should be very handy on Sunday. Congrats! Pete showed up just as I was getting ready to log off so lord knows what kind of trouble they got into after that!

Okay...
Something else else I have to say here...
I keep reading the interviews with the guy where he talks about how leveling isn't the point of the game ...
But when all is said and done, everything in the game requries leveling. Want to hover? You have to hit level 6. Want to fly? Level 14. Want a new costume? Level 20. Want to see all the sights of Paragon City? Leveling ...
Yeah, we can all stand around and chat all night on the game. We can sit down or dance or give out a Tarzan yell, but the simple fact remains that COH is a business venture for these people, and they're out to keep you playing as long as possible. That's why you accumulate debt when a bad guy kills you. That's why you only get powers every other level ... why you have to BUY capes ...
So don't sit there and tell me you don't like bugs like the smoke grenade or fiery tankers or controller powers locking down the bosses because it makes for boring gameplay. You don't like it because you're afraid I'll stop playing the game once I hit the final level...

Geez, spend one night seeing a reeeeaaallllyyyyy bad kid's play after work (my dad was in it -- a case of many talented people given a dreadful script with more dreadful bits shoehorned in by a weird director -- such a letdown after seeing this group do a terrific "Little Shop of Horrors"), and I miss three pages of thread! Well, I'm sorry I was wrong about the Postitron parameters. I'd always heard 11-15. Dang -- I could have been playing SL more! Lyle, thanks for that guide to TFs. There's a lot of useful advice in there -- nice to see it all in one spot. We'll definitely have to use the left to right thing -- keeps it organized. Everyone should reread that post before logging in for the TF. Blue, at the rate we're going, the Infinity group may be ready soon, especially if they've changed the TF back so all the baddies aren't 16 as soon as you walk in. Apparently, it used to be spawned off the highest levelled player, but they changed it. We complained after our massacre, so maybe they changed it back. As for Protector, I'm actually enjoying the Infinity team more, honestly. We went into it with a theme in mind, and it's just kind of cool. Though I would like to play with Thom's gravity powers, but I can just live vicariously through Star Kallor.

I like Infinity also but I hope we don't completely abandon Protector. Got some neat chars over there! Besides everyone could do a LW/LMBP char there and we could all play ourselves. Varalent's already there afte all.

I want to perfect Star's use of his lock down power and rad ... I so want to get mutate for him ...

Varalent, I'm thinking of deleting my Super Lad Kid char on the Protector server and starting over again. I just don't like the energy blaster. What can I say, he was the very first character I created and now i want to do it better. So if you or anyone else wants all of my stuff, i can give it to you before I delete the char. I have no idea what he has, though. Just let me know when you get on.

You...don't...like...the...energy...blaster...???? BLASPHEMY!!!!! That's funny because it's my favorite power set. Sure I'll take what you have next time we're both on. Thanks! But why not just pass it to me and reroll SLK. Then I'll pas it back to you in your new incarnation?

Sure I'll take what you have next time we're both on. Thanks! Truthfully, I like energy blaster as primary but I don't care for energy as secondary. I do love devices as a secondary ... mainly because I really like how well web grenade works for stopping runners, you get a tech drone which boosts your accuracy, and you you get those nifty smoke grenades that are supposed to make leveling easy. 8-) I tell you guys, I was playing Nite Killer my katana scrapper, and all I was getting in terms of inspirations was catch a breaths ... when Nite has regeneration and endurance recovery! Grrr!! Never get those for my blasters or controllers...

Hey, guys, I was just reading the Prima Strategy Guide and came across the binding command. This could come in handy when Star Kallor uses his rad power, for example, by letting you guys know who I'm going to attack.
Or Tas could use it to tell someone she's about to tp them.
I'll go over it as soon as i know if it works.

I am choked as hell right now at this game!!!!
Firstly in the last 2 days I've been experiencing a lot of lags in the game. This usually never happens to me. Someone said it might be a new Windows XP update doing it because when he got rid of it he was fine. I don't know if this could really be true or not.
Then tonight I kept losing connection to mapserver!! And at the worst possible time...
I usually use my lvl 29 tanker to SK lower lvl characters in my SG's and take them to Independance Port to gain some sweet XP and give them some DO enhancements to sell for lotsa coin. (I do this because someone did it for me when I was a 10)
Well I brought this lvl 11 blaster named Holly Starter there and everything was going great since we were clearing her massive debt. Then it happened. Lost connection. 3 times!!!! the third time I couldnt log back on and left her stranded in IP (way out in the boonies, mind you) surrounded by lvl 29 bad guys who had to have killed her by now!!!
I can't even go to the CoH site as it says it's not there!!!
Is it just me? My computer? My connection? A virus?
It was at 3am (west coast time) on Saturday night when it happened. The servers don't shut down till 6am here on weekdays.
Damn, I feel bad for that girl. I can see her trying to hover her way back to the SC gate. Should only take, like, an hour!!!
Arrrgghhhh......

Hey UltraStar, I know what you mean about the lag time & lost mapserver. I have noticed it myself as well the last few days.
Sorry to hear about your friend. That really sucks but there is nothing you can do about it. Part of the risk you take for high rewards. Hopeful she got up into the air and got herself out. If not, maybe she was smart enough to only die once and leave her char at the hospital until someone can help her get out.

Thing is, I still can't get back to the game!
It says it cannot find server and page cannot be displayed!
What the hell???
Are the servers down for everybody or have I been banned for some reason?
I just did a system restore back a week and got back on for 2 minutes and lost connection again!!!!
The site is gone!!!! Or my computer is dying of some majorly fracked up virus.
Can anyone else get on?
