Interesting article in the Washington Post's Arts section today about superhero movies and superheroes in general.
It lapses into a few cliches, and it's timeline errs by omitting the work Julius Schwartz and others did to revive superhero comics in the '50s, but overall it's not bad.
The website's being worked on right now, otherwise I'd post the link. I'll keep checking.

Interesting comment describing superheroes as the jazz of art history. I wonder if superheroes will become as incomprehensible to me as contemporary jazz within a decade or so. Can the industry keep recycling the same stories, or will they have to start moving into new, experimental territory? If they don't change, will the superhero movie be a fad, or can they keep churning the stuff out year after year?
