A few nights ago, I was bored and flipping around the channels and I found this documentary about Superman in the media. And, can I just say? Awesome.
Okay, now, I have to say that Superman really isn't my favorite superhero. Like, at all. Pretty low on the list, actually.
But!! This documentary? Seriously fantastic. It touched on all corners of the media-- comics, television, film-- and discussed the cultural impacts of big events in the Superman mythos, as well as the lives of the people involved creating said mythos.
I really loved the way they tied it all together with clips and images from the comics. It was just a lovely experience and I was drawn in despite my own reservations. All in all-- I'd highly, highly recommend it. So cool.

Taking a guess, I'd say this is probably the same one that comes with the recently-released "Superman: The Ultimate Collector's Edition" I bought Wednesday. If a non-Superman fan loved it, I bet I'll be in seventh heaven! Can't wait to watch it!
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

Seriously!!
But, to be fair, I love those History/Biography Channel documentary things. I'm really into that sort of stuff. That doesn't detract from the awesome, though. And it was. Like, whoa.

The first two Supeman films are being released over here individually. They have both versions of eack film and a whole load of extras - A 50's seriel and some of the Fliescher cartoons and stuff. I'm guessing that this documentary will be on one of them. I haven't bought either one yet _ I'm skint with christmas shopping - but they are in my christmas list so here's hoping. I'm not a big Superman (comics) fan but I loved the films (even number three) and you can't deny the impact and cultural relevance of the character, so I'm really looking forward to seeing this documentary now.
Be lucky
