YAY! FSU beat BC! This means Clemson controls its own destiny to play for the ACC championship representing the Atlantic division as a result!

(Yeah, they'll probably lose to Wake or BC, but at least hope is alive for me for one more week!!!! )

As for me, Alabama-LSU was such a fantastic game that it really eases the hurt of losing. Both teams having huge shifts in momentum and such huge, gamechanging plays... it was like two heavyweight boxers going at it in the ring. We just couldn't hold on (I think LSU's superior athletes just wore us down in the end), but I think we showed that we're on the way back to being a national force. I'm so excited to see what's in store for us!

And bring on Auburn, they've had it coming for years now.

Oh, and the blog and message board traffic around here is hilarious, what with the complete apathy of Alabama fans towards LSU fans and the "Alabama is Tiger Bait for the rest of the future now forever!!!" stuff coming from the LSU fans.

Really, LSU, we don't care. You are not our major rival, so stop deluding and humiliating yourselves. Enjoy your moment in the sun, it will be gone in 5 years.

I wanted to make a quick mention here that Thanksgiving Day weekend will be an extra-large selection of games to pick. There are a lot of great in-state and neighbor state rivalry games playing that weekend. That's plus all the bowls, gives plenty of opportunities for everyone to move around significantly!!!

Okay, I'll get the ball rolling this week.

Florida State at #11 Virginia Tech: Okay, so you beat Boston College last week, FSU, and you carry an 11-game winning streak into Blacksburg. So very misleading, this streak, since you have only met VT once as a fellow member of the ACC. So will FSU's great defense beat VT? No. Tech's defense will not only stop FSU's tepid, weak offense, but it will strip the ball and march it right back down the field. This FSU squad has good defense, but the only defense against Beamer Ball is an elite offense.

Winner - Virginia Tech

#15 Florida at South Carolina: I keep on talking about how well I know the SEC, but this one is a tough one for me. However, it looks like Florida is turning it up for the last bit of the season, while South Carolina is sputtering. Whether Tebow is finally completely healthy again will play a large factor in this one. Haven't heard anything to suggest that his shoulder is still giving him problems, so gotta go...

#18 Auburn at #10 Georgia: There are so many reasons why Auburn ought to win this game, but I the bottom line is, we need them to lose so they'll be demoralized against us in 2 weeks. Picking against my better judgement here, but oh well.

#13 Connecticut at Cincinatti: UConn's wins in the last 3 weeks against Louisville, USF, and Rutgers all look kind of... well, not as sparkly, given those teams' current state. However, Cincinatti dropped two to Louisville and inexplicably, Pittsburgh. I'll put in my vote for the UConn magical season continuing one more week against somewhat questionable Big East competition, because really, why the hell not?

Wake Forest at #21 Clemson: Sentimental pick for Lardy here. Plus I think they'll win anyway.

Arkansas at #24 Tennessee: Arkansas is poised to finish up the season in a big way. This team is better than you think, and Tennessee, more than any other (good) SEC team, has no answers on defense.

Texas Tech at #14 Texas: Hook 'em!

#12 Michigan at Wisconsin: Michigan continues its run to the Rose Bowl.

#17 USC at California: Cal only manages to beat Washington State by 3 points last week? Heh. Good luck with this one, Golden Bears.

What a screwy, fascinating year this has been.

I was hoping Illinois would beat Ohio State but really thought it'd be Michigan that beat them next week. But both of them losing? WTF?!

The boards are all lit up with reasons Ohio St lost but facts are, Illinois went right at Ohio State's best feature and beat them. They ran. Add in a little of what Illinoise rarely does, pass and that was that.

I might add, the receiver doing all the damage, Brian Gamble, was an Ohio boy.
