Uhm. I'm just not getting it. Don't really know any of her flicks (beyond Mighty Wind and Best in Show) and she is way too skinny. She's almost pulling a Laura Flynn Boyle in the pic above.

Back in my college days (i was a film major) Parker Posey was our super cool hot chick everyone wanted. Party Girl may be my fave flick of hers.

"Party Girl" is definitely my favorite of her flicks. She has all the attitude and quirkiness she's known for, but there was a vulnerability there that made her likable.

And then there was "Sleep With Me", but only cuz she's topless in it smile

I think one of her best performances was in "Hell on High Heels: The Battle over Mary Kay Cosmetics" , it was a TV movie where she was Hilarious and brilliant !!

Okay, definitely will rent DAYTRIPPERS, thanks for the scoop guys!

A Mighty Wind and Best In Show are great flicks, but give me Party Girl ANY day! Parker needs more "star" flicks and less ensemble ones, though I bet she'll be hysterical as Luthor's evil assistant!

She was also hysterically evil in the Josie movie.

Scott, Parker's always been a bit on the skinny side.

Maybe I'll try to find a copy of Party Girl. I'll add it to my list.

And nothing against her but skinny just doesn't do it for me. I find it a big turn-off.

I'm open to any body type, as long as they're a hottie!

Oh, DO rent Party Girl, it's SO fun. I bet Caroline will love it too.

Now that I've seriously slowed down on my DVD TV Seasons purchasing, I can focus more on gettng individual flicks.

I wanted to get the Kevin Smith movies (the ones I like). Still have to get Chasing Amy.

I've been horribly remiss in my purchasing of John Waters' movies, having only bought Serial Mom. Gotta step upon that...

And I let friends borrow my VCR tape of Party Girl years ago and the arseholes never gave it back.

Tomorrow sounds like a good day for a trip to the CBS *and* the DVD store! Gotta get Party Girl!!

We just had a new chain (forget the name) open up in town that sells used DVDs from rental stores. The run between $7.99 and $9.99 for most titles. If they have it and its that cheap I'll just buy a copy.

My friends have been teasing me for years that PARTY GIRL is based on me, since I work in a library and all, and don't exactly fit the "norm" of the stereotypical library employee.

Of course,I've never slept with a street food vendor in the library after hours!

I liked Parker in that horrible movie LAWS OF ATTRACTION. The ONLY reason I went to see that movie was for Julianne Moore, who I happen to love even more than Parker! Didn't have a clue Parker was in it, but when she appeared, I was like, "YAY--my two faves in one movie", but by the end it was "BOO--why are they in such an awful movie???"

Did anyone catch that FRANKENSTEIN movie on USA network with Parker a couple of months ago? I heard it was pretty bad.

Oh, I forgot my other recent favorite "performance" by Parker--as herself
as one of the finale judges/"fashion fan" on PROJECT RUNWAY. She had this big 'fro and Jackie O. glasses. It was a truly surreal, what the f--- moment.

Is it possible that Party Girl is the only Parker Posey movie I've seen? That just can't be right... can it????

Wait... I saw Scream 3 and SubUrbia (although I remember virtually nothing about it).

Dang... she's actually made a bunch of movies! I need to get renting! smile

I checked 2 DVD stores Saturday and neither had a copy of Party Girl for sale. Hey, Hey, HELLO! What's that all about?

Cru, Parker's been in more stuff than I ever imagined or have heard of, too, until this thread.

I even want to see that Mary Kay movie!

OhmiGAWD, I forgot Parker's cameo in THE DOOM GENERATION, which stars my other indie-film fave, Rose McGowan! I love that movie! She wears a giant blonde afro wig here, too!

"Daytrippers" and "House of Yes" were very good as well.
I had a Parker Posey period, I only watched her movies(crush)(crush). Over it now.

Back to the thread.

LASH--I wish I still had the Mary Kay movie on tape. It was a total hoot. One of my best friends is a Mary Kay rep, and they were "asked" not to watch it! It's actually one of Parker's best performances.

I finally saw Party Girl. It was on Showtime last night. What a great movie. Why is Parker Posey not a major star?

I've seen her in a few things. About the best movie i saw her in was Dazed and Confused. But i don't see the big fuss. She seems to play the same character in every movie i have seen. Loud mouthed, drunken, and annoying. I might like her if i saw her in something else.

As for being a hottie, sorry. Like Scott, i likes 'em with a little meat on their bones. The lovin' is much nicer, lol.

Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

With all this early buzz and hype about the upcoming Superman movie, all I can think is screw all that stuff, I'll see it just because Parker's in it!
