WOW, I'm happy to see those great songs had some chart success, it was deserved!
I know C&C MF was the more successful of the 2 Martha Wash-based groups of the early 90s but I much preferred Black Box.
Something else else about C&C MF was just too... structured for specific movement. Black Box's song were more for boody-wiggling freestyle dancing!

My favorite Pet Shop Boys has always been "Being Boring". I'm not quite sure what it's about, but the line about friends "some are missing in the 1990's" always made me think it was about AIDS. Anyone else think that?

As for PSBs, My October Symphony and Later Tonight stand out for me, but I like all their stuff. I once had the most incredible sex to Left To My Own Devices!!!

It's a shame the Liza Minelli/PSBs collaboration flopped here.
I thought Liza sang the HELL out of Tonight is Forever. I liked Losing My Mind, Don't Drop Bombs and So Sorry I said too.

More than any other act, I think PSBs have always slipped in subtle and not-so-subtle gay references in their lyrics.
I once had to explain how It Couldn't Happen Here is about some guy doing drag for the first time...

So, do we need a new thread --- Best Song Ever for Sex?
(or has that already been done?)

Looks like Freedom Williams couldn't quite cut it without Martha Wash if that dismal 1994 "comeback" is any sign... things that make you go Hmmmmmmm, indeed!
Semi-- This was back in my college days when I was still semi-innocent! A friend wanted to hook me up with this dude, so we met and eventually nature took its course and by the time he was done, I would never qualify for "semi-innocent" status again!! *heh heh heh!*

I was never a huge SNAP! fan -until- RHYTHM IS A DANCER. That song blew my world away, an awesome tune!
It in fact ended up being the # 33 song of the YEAR for 1993-- a colossal accomplishment for a dance track in 1993, I thought.

There's been lots of adult contemporary songs made into club cuts through the years, but that is probably the finest of the lot, Stuey, a fantastic remake!
And I'm willing to bet the highest charted song for the lot of them...

I dug out the CD single and I'm grooving to it now -- collectively, Jocelyn, Amber, and Ultra (? ) were known as "Stars on 54"! When you reach the part Where the heartache comes The hero would be you Heroes often fail...
I don't know where we went wrong But the feeling's gone And I just can't get it back If you could read my mind...

Rhythm Is A Dancer #5 9/19/92 I loved Rhythm is a dancer. I have all my 80's dance music burned to cd's now. I bought it all on 12" vinyl at the time. There are some great songs.
