Dracula 3000 and national lampoon's dorm daze.
I rented them along with Christmas vacation. My wife likes horror movies, and i was in the mood for mindless fun.
I got horrified at how bad dorm daze was, and was left in a daze at how horrible D3000 was.
Seriously.
Dracula might have had an interesting moment or two in it, but, Erica Elainiac was not naked in it, nor has she aged particularly well. The lead, supposedly, was Casper Van Dien. His voice over narration sounded like something a college kid with no acting under his belt would do. Tiny Lister, the bad guy from Friday, was, believe it or not, the best actor in the thing.
The movie looked like it was filmed on a decommishioned navy ship, on weekends
Dracula looked like the costume was a leftover from a high school production. The rest of the acting was particularly bad. It didn't even have the cheese factor charm of Dracula 2000. Sorry, but this movie was a total turd. Who would have believed that i would long for the acting talents of Madonna or Pam Anderson. Feel free to tear off a limb and beat yourself to death rather than see it.
Dorm Daze, one of the cheapo National Lampoon movies, was sooo bad i couldn't even sit through it. It played, for the short time i was able to watch, like an abc friday night show, with occasional language and the hope of cheap nudity. It had none by the time i cut it off. The best known of the actors was the girl that played Topanga on Boy meets World, and the redheaded kid from the American Pie movies.
I feel sorry for Topanga. She went from a hit show, calendars, etc... to working in grade d movies with absolutely no charm at all, and that look like they are one crystal meth, with writing about that competent as well.
If anyone recommends them to you, kick them in the crotch and run like hell.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

Dracula 3000 actually has nothing to do with Dracula 2000...Thankfully...Though Dracuala 2000 has 2 (count em') sub-par Sequels. Dear god is this a career emergency or what. I mean, Topanga can do better than this, can't she?
As for elainiak, i don't think she can. I watched that movie (I couldn't stop, it was valley of the dolls bad, and yeah, i saw that once in theatre class at Francis Marion College with some other folk) in sad recognition of a fantastic bod gone horribly off somehow.
For one thing, there was a big ole whoppin tatoo on her back that made her look like a scuzzy biker slut. Then was the fact that the actors seemed to be reading their lines off cards that were in front of them. For another, good computer graphics on the space ship, sorry special fx on the exploding caskets. Add to that there was nothing new or original to the script. Nothing specific or intense that would give the movie its own hook. Its like four college kids got together and banged out a group book for term paper.
At least D2000 had some cheese factor charm.

I thought Patty Duke's hissy fit outside the theatre (in Valley of the Dolls) was at least worth a second Oscar nod, LASH
And what about Susan Hayward's spaced out singing sequence - flailing robotic arms and all? Maybe she was channelling the Robot in "Lost in Space" i.e. "Danger, Will Robinson, Danger!!!"

You can post links to anything here, Joey. It's the better choice for anything visual that's at all showing nudity, or other elements that wouldn't be kosher or welcome to those in an office setting -- as many people here access this site from work.
As for "Dracula 3000," I find it hard to think that it's worse than "Van Helsing," which I actually paid $2.50 to see at Super Saver Cinema. (For the winged brides of Dracula, nothing else.)

(For the winged brides of Dracula, nothing else.) There's one other fun thing about it: Kate Beckinsale's hilarious "Trrrrrraaanseeelvaaanyaaan" accent. She sounds like The Baroness from "G.I. Joe." My best friend says that one of her co-workers is Translyvanian, and that her accent is nothing like Beckinsales. Big surprise. LOL

The last movie I saw that I felt was a waste of money was The Village. What a major letdown! I was so bored through the whole thing. In fact, the guy sitting next to me fell asleep halfway through!

Oh come on, BWUP, you're pulling my leg...Billy Warlock's gay???? If so, it wouldnt be the first time a soap actor had to stay "in the closet" so he'd get more parts...look at Thom Bierdz (from Young and the Restless)- and a great-looking dude he was (still is, in fact)
Matthew. [/b]

Matthew. [/b]Is this for real, Matt? Billy Warlock's gay??? If so, it wouldnt be the first time a soap star had to be "closeted" to remain on a show. Look at Thom Bierdz on "Young and the Restless" and all the hassles he went through just to be taken seriously in Hollywood, when word leaked that his sexual preference was gay, he got the shaft (no pun intended) Brian

Brian [/b]hey Brian ! you know i'm only joking, right !!?? when 'BAYWATCH' first started in 1990 or 91 i was in with Billy Warlock ...... well not really but i did have a major crush on him, and i pretty much realised then, that i was gay, and it wasn't just a 'phase' i was going through !! so NO ! i don't think that BILLY WARLOCK is gay, but you just don't know in HOLLYWOOD Matthew.

I did my every-few-months 3-movie-rental weekend, and here's another one for the suck-list:
CURSED, with Christina Ricci and Shannen Elizabeth. What a letdown!
The ads for it last year looked all hella-awesome and I was ready for a good werewolf movie. This wasn't it. I should have re-watched THE HOWLING.
MAN OF THE HOUSE was pretty fun, though, and I am about to watch NAPOLEON DYNAMITE.

I saw cursed, and it was a by the numbers thing. The funniest part was when scott baio asks who he has to blow to get outta there. Other than that, Ricci seemed a little too small and young for that role. maybe i'm wrong. But, i've liked her since her deliciously twisted Wednesday Addams. Every thing else just seems like its something to do til she does another Addams movie. Hmmmm, maybe they should do "Wednesday Addams in the City". Just imagine all those terrified metrosexials.

The Big Bounce is another movie that sucked eggs. How could Morgan Freeman be in a movie like this? And when is Owen Wilson so not funny for a whole movie?
