Well, today my dad apologized for me and brother getting involved in the thing yesterday, then said something about starting to pay me a certain amount of he money he owes.
Of course, I told him, when he asked me, that I honestly did not understand the stuff that went on and why. And then my connection to him over the phone ended. He says that connection must've been lost. Part of me doesn't even want to believe that.
Please bear in mind that I am giving my recollection as best I can of the call today.
But still, thank you all so much. Just hope my brother is doing alright.

No problems today, though I didn't go to the nursing home so I didn't see my dad.

Anytime.
You know, I miss my Dad like crazy, but I've never forgotten the epic blow-outs we used to have. I love the guy, but I've fought the urge to turn all sentimental about him. He cast a very big shadow in life: when it came to both good points and bad. He wasn't manic but there still wasn't much middle ground for him.

Unfortunately, I feel that part of the reason why he's like that is because of his bastard father.

Yeah, that sounds familiar. When I used to hear the stories about my father's father, I felt kind of relieved that he passed on years before I was even born. The guy I called my "paternal Grandfather", was actually my Dad's stepfather. He was always very even-tempered and sweet. (You could tell we weren't blood relatives. )

Yeah, I've never even met the man, and he's dead, but from what I've heard, he divorced my Nana and remarried, and he pretty much forgot his kids ever existed when he got a new family.
He'd take my dad to movies and leave him there, he even had a boat named after them that he changed when he got re-married.
I don't care if the man's dead, I hate him and I'm glad he's rotting in the ground.
My Grandpa, on the other hand, is just about the sweetest guy I know. I've always been close to him and Grandma, and Nana, he still gives me and my brother both 30 dollar allowances. I've been trying to spend more time with him since this crap started.
You know, my dad has never punished my brother and I. Whenever we do something wrong it always gets into an argument which leads to either one of us apologizing and then him apologizing. I'm pretty sure he was afraid to punish us. Didn't stop him from jumping down our throats anytime we ever said anything when he got home from work, because he'd ALWAYS be in a bad mood.
And that's my rant.

Another stupid, stupid argument. What about?
Apparently, my aunt has been getting calls that SHOULD be going to my mom's cell. My dad had my try to reach my mom before my aunt reported her to her job and the phone company. And for two tries it really DID go to my aunt's cell, although it hadn't earlier today.
I called my dad back to let him now I texted her, and then he said it was too late, then some other crap until I finally screamed that I didn't care about what my aunt did, hung up, and threw the phone at the ground. Then I had to try and call my mom, more stuff about how I didn't care about what was going on between them, or something like that, and hung up.
And of course, my dad left a message while my phone was off, I called him back, and explained that I did not want to talk about this kind of thing over the phone, and that if it was going to be talked about, it's face to face.

I hope that by opening up and venting on Legion World you release some of the frustration and rage that build up in such an undesirable home situation, and that by doing so, you face the unpleasantness of it all with more focus and deliberation. That's a lot to ask of a comic-book oriented website, but Legion World is populated by some pretty fabulous (like Lash) counselors, advisers, and friends.
In the six-ish years that I've been here, I've seen many people, myself included, benefit from the strange mixture of anonymity and intimacy that exist in this virtual space of avatars. Like you, many of us lived through a troubling youth. I sometimes wonder whether that's a factor that draws us to the Legion and Legion World.
Abusive, neglectful, ignorant, delusional, or needy family members are not something that a 19-year-old needs. But there they are. I walked out of my life at 19, leaving unresolved all the problems that I had grown weary of enduring, hiding, managing since I was 12. It was not the most efficient or mature way of dealing with things that were going on, but I was 19. I was neither efficient nor mature. All things considered, my life has turned out pretty well.
Time and space are good buffers. Take Lash's advice to get away from them all, even for just a day.
Whether in a thread of responses or in private, you will find many sympathetic ears, open minds and warm hearts in this community. I hope that talking to us here helps you cope and maybe even channel some of that rage into healthy and creative pursuits.
Your family may not get it -- ever -- but we do. Nevertheless, keep in mind, that we are, for the most part, anonymous avatars, and as such, a weak substitute for real people with whom to share and discuss your issues face to face.

I do, and I think I really need to go somewhere, just for a couple of days, just to get away from this.

Check out the neartest Motel 6 or another discount-rate chain like that, Kid. Some of 'em even have cheap room service and jets in the tub (majorly relaxing).
But even if they don't have that stuff, just the sheer healing power of peace, quiet and a good night's sleep can do amazing things!!

Yeah, right now my mom managed to get back in the same boat as my dad. Maybe with some relatives who don't really have anything to do with this.
Maybe in Florida.

Birthdays.

Great, a good chunk of the carport ceiling got torn off, the boiler's leaking, the ceiling's leaking, and I wish for once my mom would answer her goddamn cell phone the first time I call her!
Always a joy when dad comes to visit.
