Yeah, C. Thomas has kinda lost his boyish good looks. It was great to have Lou Diamond Philips in season one, and this was another great blast from the '80s. Did C. Thomas and Keifer ever do a film together back in the day? I can't think of one.

Not back in the day but back in the early 90's Kiefer made an uncredited appearance in two of C. Thomas' movies, Hourglass and Teresa's Tattoo. another amazing episode !! and do you realise who KIM's boyfriend is played by ?? the 80's actor C Thomas Howell !! but i can't get over how OLD he looks, i checked his details on the internet, and he's actually the same age as Keifer, but i think he looks much older ??
Matthew.[/QB] I hope I don't look that old. They were both born the same year as me. I'm about 7 months older.

*choke* Just to reveal how youthful I am, I have no idea who C. Thomas Howell is!
On a sidenote, this is still the best show on television. Much like my favorite comics, I really don't have much to add other than I'm loving it. I really can't wait to go watch seasons 1-4 (I love when I come into something late and go look at the eariler stuff).
Oh, I really like Audrey. Here's hoping she doesn't die!

C. Thomas was in one '80s "classic" after another. Amongst them are: "Grandview, USA" "The Outsiders" "Red Dawn" "The Hitcher" "Soul Man"

I just realized the other day that C. Thomas was the kid who played 'Pony Boy'. I never knew his name! My 7th grade class (when I read the book) used to think I looked like him.
I'm revealing my youth a little, but I've actually only seen 'Outsiders' and "the Hitcher' and never any of those other 80's classics!
BTW, last nights episode was awesome. Jack on the plane was so crazy it was amusing, as was Chloe zapping that guy not once, but twice! The intensity remains constant and there's only two more episodes to go (I think, with one being a double-hour season finale).

Totally saw that coming! My wife and I were saying it was ending too early, with Jack and Audrey kissing and having their moment with 15 minutes left in the show!!!! Only 7 months until the next installment!

Great ending! They wrapped it up really well. I like that it didn't just end where Jack saves the day by shooting a bunch of people. It was almost a "Mission Impossible" kind of scenario - especially at the end when the Pres looks over to his wife and Mike and there's that moment where the bad guy realizes he's been had.
Oh, and did anyone else notice that the President didn't exactly take his time when he was gettin' busy with the wife? (he was being timed after all)

I said to Caroline, just watch, they've been building it up too much this season for those guys not to show up at the end and become involved with Jack. Can't wait for next season. This was the only show that I consistently watched each week on the day of broadcast. Not even Lost kept my attention as much.

Part of me was hoping Jack was about to put a bullet in the President's skull, but Aaron would jump in at the last moment and do it instead.

I'm glad Aaron never really strayed outside the bounds of his duty (like kissing the first lady, as much as he wanted to). Similar to Mike Novick, they seemed so much to epitomize goodness, loyalty and patriotism as much as Jack, I'm glad they were never revealed to have a dark side.

I totally agree Drake. Aaron is one of the best characters on the show! Its amazing he's still alive, and that itself is cool. Mike Novick also epitomizes patriotism too, as you say.
Man, I loved this show. I'm so glad I got turned on to it and started watching (now I need to see seasons 1-4!). This was a very exciting, interesting and well-scripted ride.
And the finale did not let me down. Seeing the President finally be had (after Jack is seemingly imprisoned), Chloe returning to the very sad truth at the end of the day that she must face, Bill asking Karen Hayes out (that was cool!), and Audrey and Jack together (man, she is so hot!). And then Jack being captured, which I even I saw coming and thought was very intense and cool. Jan 2007 is so far though!
I kinda can't wait to see the VP as Pres too--what a great character this season who didn't really have a lot of screen time.

I'm going to chime in for Aaron and Mike too. They are as much heroes as Jack, maybe even more so. They faced some big decisions based on faith in someone else and risked a great deal. Not many of us could do that in our jobs/lives let alone doing so against the Commander-in-Chief.
January is so far out but I do enjoy seeing the show uninterrupted with no repeats. That kills shows like 24. Lost will be doing the same thing since repeats were tanking. Only seven or eight episodes in the Fall then the rest of the season will be shown uninterrupted starting in February.
Oh, and Ray Wise as soon-to-be President Hal Gardner (I can't help but think of Green Lantern for some reason) will be great. I wonder, though, if we'll get him as President or if we'll skip a year or two into the future again. I'd prefer to see the next season deal with Jack getting out of his current prediciment.

The "Hal Gardner" thing never occured to me - I wonder if there's another comic book fan amongst the "24" writers.
One thing that bothered me here. Despite Jack being proven right, I find it hard to believe the man who just kidnapped the President of the United States and put a gun to his head is going to be allowed to just walk around freely like Jack was at the end of the episode and not be in custody of some sort.

I've loved Jean Smart since her Designing Women days as Charlene. She was fantastic as the First Lady. She was clearly troubled, but she had poise, charisma, and a brilliant political mind. She was equally as heroic, maybe moreso in her own way, then any of the men around the President. She displayed honor and courage and a sense of duty and responsibility. I understand what you guys mean about Aaron remaining unsullied and not overstepping his bounds, even if he wanted to, but dammit, Marty and Aaron deserved to end up together. Clearly they had a history, and they would each give up their life for the other. I am holding out great hope for them to have a future together.

I think Marty was a great character. Very flawed, which made her more heroic. I especially liked her and Mike Novick's gradual coming together throughout the final episodes--very underplayed, which made it all the more interesting to watch. In the earliest episodes I couldn't really stand her, but by the end I was cheering her on when she 'helped' Aaron with that guy (not giving away too much) and was completely outraged when the Pres went as far as to hit her. Her and Mike's looks at the Pres at when they last saw him were perfect. Matt, you're in for such a treat! BTW, the woman playing Audrey Rains is my biggest crush in TV history!
