The best Legion creative teams are those which introduce concepts that become a part of "Legion lore", part of the mythos, something future incarnations of the team have to take into account. And yet every creatve team also has their less-than-stellar ideas.

What have DnA done (thus far) that will become a permanent part of Legion lore?

Which elements will be regarded as anachronisms of this period of Legion history?

Robotica I think has staying power.

I can't think of a signature bad guy or character for DnA.

Anachronism: Legion World will go the way of so many headquarters.

DnA will certainly be remembered for bringing Ra's Al Ghul into the LEGION mythos.

They will also be remembered for LEGION LOST.

i believe DnA's legacy will include the kwai...at this point they are so integral to interstellar travel, it will be hard to forget them, or even sweep them completely under a rug somewhere.

however, the whole "legion lost" epic will be hard to top, i think. i still have nightmares about the progenitor "deleting" monstress.

it was the ether that knocked her out cold.

I would expect the thresholds to go the way of the space cruisers in a few years.

It's nice to see the Academy is back, but it may disappear again - some of these things just seem to get too unwieldy over time.

The Titanet may have staying power. It makes a lot more sense than the Coluan sleepnet, and has plenty of potential for use in a wide variety of stories.

I think the main legacy that DanA will leave behind will be the lost story line. The ramifications of that will echo down the years. Like Ether lad the “deletion” of Monstress will stay with me for years. But more importantly to the legion mythos will be the Element Lad / progenitor story. Even if we never see the progenitor again I think the fans will talk about it for many years, much as the death of Ferro Lad was talked about.

Robotica is too “borg” like and fashionable to remain a constant and to be honest I like my machine to be machines and not “life forms”

But in the end DanA legacy will be taking a series that appeared in danger of cancellation and turning it around to a secure seller.

Agreed. If anything, 20 years from now this is how Legion history will remember DnA. It'll be mentioned like this in whatever book comes out to celebrate the LEGION's 65th anniversary!

They'll also be known for "fixing" things in the postboot Legion that really was alienating a few fans. Things like fixing Wildfire, bringing back Brin, changing Sensor into something else, giving Cham and a few others back their old personalities and even giving KQ a personality. I know Monstress had a few fans, but I really couldn't stand her character (and I remember definately not being alone on this either). I think DnA told a really good story from Damned all the way to the to the last fatal Five story and along the way helped fix and define a lot things that were more than irritating for Legion fans. Hey, Ferro coming out of the closet doesn't hurt either wink

Dream Crime and the current storyline feel a bit slower and maybe a little weaker, but I've come to trust Dan and Andy in writing good stories. The only thing that irritated me of their run was their way of ignoring Dawnstar and then putting all this focus on Shikari (every issue) when I'd be more than willing to sacrifice her for the return of Dawny.
