I lost another 3 pounds this week. That brings my total weight lost up to 58 pounds.
I went to the doctor last week, and it seems like my weight loss has been paying off.
My diabetes is doing much better. For those of you who knows what this means, I went from an A1C of 12 in early June to an A1C of 4.6 by 09/27. My cholesterol is much better too.
My original goal was aobut another 15 pounds, but to hit where I should be at in terms of BMI the doctor told me I should be at, we're talkinga about another 30 pounds...
We'll see. Gotta keep plugging away!

Wow, congrats BB! That's really great. I still don't own a scale (I'm seriously afraid); however, I have been monitoring my calorie intake. And I feel like I'm looking a bit slimmer, at least. That has to mean something, right? Now, if only I could kick the booze and start working out. Then I'd be golden. I'm really going to try to start running and stuff soon. I know I can do it if I just put a little effort into it...

60 pounds is awesome! I am almost to 30; at -27 as of yesterday. The last couple of weeks have been hard -- much sickness and parental responsibilities. I can totally understand how single parenting can lead to weight gain! Still managed to lose a pound last week and a pound this week. I would be thrilled to keep up a pace of 1 pound/week. It will take awhile to get to my ultimate goal, but I think I stand a better chance of keeping the weight off.

Yes, DC. The dietician I went to told me that a person shouldn't lose more than about 2- 2 1/2 pounds a week, so even if it takes you longer losing at one pound a week isn't a bad thing at all.

All right, BB! You should be very pretty of yourself! I made it to 60 pounds a few weeks ago, but my mom and I had an agreement while she's been here: no diet (we've both been dieting for a while and have lost a lot of weight), but she goes home today so I'll be back on the ol' wagon ! Honestly, the break has been nice, but it will be nice to get back on program too. I've been keeping up my exercising as best I can. I've increased the amount of joging my morning walk with Hyvvie includes a little bit almost every day. I'll weigh win Wednesday and we'll see what's up (or rather how much it's up ), but, again, I'm not too concerned. If I've gained any, it will come off pretty quickly--I hope!

Woohoo, down 5 lbs over the last 2 weeks. I'm just 2 lbs away from a 50 lb loss. That will feel good, though I still have more to lose... It's taken me nearly a year to get this far, and I wish I had accomplished more so far, but it's my own fault; I did some serious slacking off for a few months.
It would be nice if it all melted away overnight, but as my WW leader often says: there is no such thing as it taking "too long". The time is going to pass anyway, so as long as you're weight is going down, it's all good. (She would put it more eloquently than I have!)

And I gained two pounds over my vacation. I'm not too concerned. I've still lost a net total of 58 pounds so far and I have only nine pounds to go to my target weight. I don't regret taking the vacation, though. My mom and I had lots of fun while she was visiting and we went to several restaurants I almost never go to (BTW, Houston has some of the best restaurants in the US). Vacation is vacation and this is real life, so back to real life I go!

Been weary of weighing in the last two weeks with everything else going on. Diet and nutrition hasn't been high on my list.
So I decided to weigh tonight after work (just felt lighter) and, to my amazement I had lost two pounds! After knowing that I had to have gained at least five or more since Mom passed I was floored.
Put me down at being 56 pounds lighter since May. 54 more to go to reach my real target for SDCC next year. Maybe I can crack 300 and get back down to my high school weight of about 265-280.

Good going Thomas!
I decided to start my weighing in again on my official day so I weighed this morning. Down another pound. 57 and counting.

Scott, I am so sorry about your mom. Grief by definition is overpowering, but sometimes it's also a spur to take care of yourself as part of your own healing process. I hope you and yours are doing OK.
I have been a total laggard in the weight loss department. I have managed to hold constant at 265 the last couple of weeks, but it's like treading water. I need to get re-energized to track points and get more exercise. I did a real weekend warrior house work blitz last Sunday and could barely walk for most of this week. I still can't seem to shake these cold symptoms, although they are not as bad as a couple of weeks ago.

I'm back at 177, where I was before vacation. That's a total of 60 pounds down since February, with seven pounds left. I hope to hit my target weight by Thanksgiving. We'll just see.

Adding to that, I guess I'm now a real jogger. The past couple mornings I've gone out wearing only a cap, a thermal shirt, shorts, socks and sneakers, in 50F weather! And, if I may say so myself, I don't look half-bad in the shorts!

I'm up 1.8 lbs this week. I've done a ton of walking over the past few weeks, but clearly not enough to offset all the crap I've been eating. Time to get serious again!

This is where it starts to get hard for me. I lost about a pound this week. That puts me at about 194. The lowest I've ever weighed as an adult is 190, so I'm not going to be too surprised if I can't get down to the weight the doctor told me was appropriate for me: 175.
But man, I was sick as a dog yesterday and not much better this morning, so maybe that's why this was a slow week for me...

BB, according to the charts I saw, my "ideal weight" rage was 130 to 158. I don't think I could ever get that low and stay there. You have to do what feels right for you. The point is to be healthy and comfortable with who you are. If neither of us ever gets to an "ideal" weight, we'll both still be better off than if we lost no weight at all! Of course I still see myself as being heavy and when I look in the mirror, I'm actually surprised at how slender the man in the reflection is. It will take me a long time to get used to that, but I guess it's not a bad problem to have.
