Since my last post I got down to 238 and then it got ugly. Too much partying (drinking alcohol/over eating) coupled with lots of aspirin/caffiene I was taking...resulted in an ulcer. I was bleeding internally not pretty. For you guys that take in aspirin and caffiene...slow it down...or stop. It's horrible for your stomach. Anyways I've been eating "healthy" but not clean. By this i mean lots of protein that is easy to break down instead of meat aka milk & eggs. Two things NOT good for your waist. Stronger than I ever have been (i love lifting weights) and running stronger than I have been in a while. I have to get back on track...but right now not really in the mood. Life and this ulcer made me forget about that 32 inch waist. You guys keep losing weight!!!

My wife's advice to losing weight: "Just walk away from the table, people. Just walk away."
Seriously though. She's been working steadily on improving her health, so she can be a healthier mom, but living with a dieter/steady gym client certainly makes me feel guilty about my piggy ways. It also limits the number of treats gets to come into my house. I feel like I'm having to sneak around trying to catch a bite to eat.

Yeah so I'm about the 245 range. Really have let myself go. Good news is I'm lifting weights hard and lots. Bad news is I got sick of cardio. May try walking a few times a week with the gf while we talk which is funner than running. I can get down to 242 pretty easily...like not eat a ton of meatballs and spaghetti right before bed. But after that the running for months wasn't worth the couple of pounds. Cardio is really the only way to lose weight...and not eating. Two things I don't really care for...well try to lift lots of sets hopefully will help me burn fat off. You guys keep going for the slim waists!

Finally Lost all the intended Weight....the plan is now to have a 6-pack by my birthday (feb 25th) and Mardi Gras....in which Ill be on a float. In a Kid Marvel costume. Now if I can just figure out how to make a metal Legion Belt Buckle.
Have started Swimming laps....which'd be a lot easier if I had a waterproof Ipod, and all those nasty Pushupy, crunchy, Weight lifting things..
Still...No Worries eh?

Great news! We're going to Maui in February!!!! My family of five as well as another family of five. Naturally, I want to feel good and look good on the beach, but my friend (the other dad) is really interested in having his family go on some pretty major hikes on the last three days of our trip. So, right after we made this plan, I started thinking about the gym.
I've already been one time. I did about an hour or cardio on the ellyptical (sp?) machine and a full round of weight training on the nautilus machines. Plenty of stretching along the way, too. Days later, I'm still sore, but I know this is the only way to get in better shape.
I feel like I should go back in this thread and read some of my posts when I was really into working out. Inspire myself.
Oh yeah, next summer I'll be turning HAKK*COFF*40*KAFKAFKAF*COUGH!!!!! So, I want to look good and feel good when that landmark comes.

If you really want to lose the pounds, then Weight watchers is the best way. That and lots of exercise. I lost 122 pounds on Weight watchers and have kept it off for over 2 years. LLL.

Wow, that's awesome! I've always heard that WW is the way to go. My weight issues are pretty obvious. I eat junk and don't exercise regularly, so, when I do watch what I eat and work out on a regular basis, I lose weight and feel better. It's pretty much a matter of using common sense.

Did an hour on the ellyptical machine today. Then some stretching and crunches. Ate really lightly for lunch and dinner, too.

Two different people I work with asked if I was losing weight! That's a great sign. If people who know you ask such a question, it surely means things are going well.
I have been cutting the junk, but my dinners have been pretty much the norm. I have been drinking less, which would certainly count.
Earlier today, I did hit the gym again, and did time on the ellyptical and did some pec and ab machines. It was a quick, but worthwhile workout.

I went to weight watchers and lost 50lbs! Sadly after I lost it I stopped going.
I'm fat as hell today. Working out but no cardio. Eating like a mad man. I need to get control!!!

Did a quick workout yesterday, and am about to go to the gym now.
Foodwise, it's been a "eat whatever I want" week or so, including Thanksgiving, so I really could watch that better.

Two days ago, I did a round of free weight training, which felt really good. I took Sunday and today off, so I'll jump back into it tomorrow.

I went on Tuesday, for a pretty quick workout. Right now, I'm feeling kind of frustrated because even though I've been pretty good about hitting the gym, I don't see much of a change in my body, yet. I feel like I have to really be strict with my diet now, if I want results. That's no fun.
Also, I'm a bit hung up on a number...the number 200. The last couple of times I weighed myself, I've been exactly 200 pounds! I've never hit that number before, so it feels kinda bad. The funny thing is, I'll weigh myself one day, and I'll be 197, then, the next day I'll be 200 again. One time I think I was even 201, but I put the scale back on 200 and played the denial game.
200 pounds shouldn't be such a point of drama, but I can't help it. I must NOT be more than 200! More exercise and less food!!!!!

Sketch, it's frustrating isn't? But you got it...more exercise less food. Maybe same amount of weight training but more cardio. I'm 263lbs right now. But I am trying to get big. Insane I know. lifting weights like crazy. It's fun.

I whine a lot about being out of shape, but I seem to be unwilling to eat like a person who wants to lose weight....Still, I'm getting into the gym very consistently right now, and that's good. I do mostly cardio with some stretching and a few weight machines. I don't want to get big, I want to slim down, so I guess we have different goals, Jorge. Best wishes to you!

Heh! I haven't been to the gym since that post! I've been eating in a way I'd call "normal," not to many bad bad things, but no major emphasis on lean, clean foods. I don't think of Christmas time as being a more difficult time for eating right, there are just more options now. As always, it's about hitting the gym that brings me success.

I'm 273lbs. I've been eating lots on purpose to get stronger..."bulking up" but as usual gained way too much fat than I wanted. Next month I HAVE to eat much cleaner. This is the most I ever weighed and honestly feel like crap half the time. The things I do to build muscle. Much more cardio next month. I am guessing many of you will start losing again next month as well.

I'm so glad I have this thread as a record of some of my ABSURD thoughts on food!
"I don't think of Christmas time as being a more difficult time for eating right, there are just more options now."
HAH!!!!! I ate like a PIG everyday for a week before Christmas!! We had prime rib on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Oh, and don't be thinking that I just had a little.
I ATE ya'll.
So, now it's over and it's time for me to really try, because I'm goin' to Maui in less than 2 months!!
