I've been eating really lightly for the past couple of weeks. I went to the gym this morning, but my iPod was not charged, so it wasn't as fun. I just did some cardio. It's nice and sunny here today, so I'm going outside to do the "paint yer house" workout. YeeHAW!

Sounds good guys! I've really slimmed down too in the last three months. I was never really unhappy with my weight, but I wanted a more slim look (I've traditionally gone for the muscular/big look). It seems to be working well. If I measure it on getting hit on in the bar, I'm doing pretty well

Cobalt Kid: same here. I'm tall (6'1") and was skinny growing up...college and life caught up. I love to eat and didn't want to stop decided to lift big to go along with the new fat me. But I need to trim down more. Currently 240 and I need to be 220. Anything less than 220 I start looking too skinny. But darn I love to eat! Eating smart (light), lifting smart, CARDIO, and not eating late is my method...it works fine...sadly i fall off it. i forgot to mention i love alcohol almost as much as food. Jorge

Well after a week of my mom visiting, I only gained 3 pounds. I was down to 170 when she arrived, but am now at 173. I managed to work out each day, and was pretty good when eating out (except for the rolls - I ate them, and often seconds).

Instead of dieting, I just decided to use the cellular trim ray. I'm now a svelte 160 pounds (and rippling with muscles, which is another benefit of the ray).

Jillikers! I need to get busy on this!
Looks like I'm being auctioned off at a Date Auction in less than a month, and I need to count on more than my ultra-groovy personality to sell me!

I've been sick and overworked the last week and a half, and have lost 3 pounds.
I don't recommend this diet.

Gosh, I wish I'd known about this thread!
I've been dieting since July 4th, and have lost about 28 lbs. My coworkers say I need to stop losing, but I want to lose another 10 lbs.
I walk 2 miles every morning, but it's been pretty crappy weather lately here in good ol Memphis, so haven't been walking much. I've been doing the South Beach Diet, and sort of modifying it to suit my needs. I'm vegetarian, so can't do the Atkins. I try to only have bread/alcohol/sugar a few times a week, but it's been hard lately! I've been fluctuating 3 lbs or so for the past month---I want to get past that and lose these last ten pounds!
Reading this thread, sounds like you all are doing great! Congrats!

Yeah, it's great when people tell me that. I still think I look pretty much the same 'til I compare photos of myself pre-diet to those now. And it's great to NEED to buy smaller clothes, but it sucks having to PAY for them! :-)

Jack, it must be hard doing the South Beach Diet vegetarian-wise. But then again, I think that any successful diet is really all about portion control. Atkins is a little silly advocating "eat all you want" as long as it's meat and fat. The one diet I always found to be sensible was the Zone. It allows you to eat from all food groups, but in proportion and in measured portions. I guess that's the one I still follow.
About the 3 pound fluctuation - I've been having the same problem. For the last couple of months, I've been fluctuating between 171 and 174. I think to get past that, I just have to really restrict my food intake for about 3 days. My goal is to get to a range of 165-170. (You naturally fluctuate within a 5 lbs range, I'm told).

Semi, the hardest thing is just being bored, food-wise. Since I don't eat meat, the South Beach Diet can be a little hard, esp. during the initial "restrictive" phase.
I was skeptical about this, but one of the things the South Beach Diet proposes IS true. Since doing this, I find myself not wanting to snack, and I'm not thinking about food all the time. I mostly eat now just to keep my body fed.
Since I've done pretty well so far, I'll allow myself a craving here or there---I had pizza AND margaritas this past weekend---but I've been back into the "groove" this week.

I've dropped 42 lbs since the beginning of the year. One thing I had to give up to do it, was alcohol. Damn, I'd kill for a margarita.

I hear ya, brotha. It's rough...esp. since margaritas are just about the WORST drinks, diet-wise.
