Virtue crashed earlier (around 4:30 PM eastern) and then they took down the other servers around 5 PM. On the forums they said it was to reboot the servers to help with all the disconnects people are experiencing while they work on a fix. Fortunately it wasn't too long before they had them all back up.

Justa quick note so no one worries. I'll be out of town and off line from tomorrow, Tuesday, 6/21) early morning through early evening on Friday 6/24. I know Paragon City will be in good hands during my absence!

Hope its for a good time Vee.
And you need to let us know what characters you lost in the current wipe. I've heard the Legions across all servers are being wiped out left and right by the mods.

Yikes! On a more pleasant note, check out this video my hubby created. A few of us have a brief cameo from footage he got during one of Prism Lord's missions. (It's a fairly small -- 320x240, 2:38 long, 7.31mb -- and totally G-rated file.)

Wow?
I hadn't heard that. I need to check on my heroes. I haven't played most of them in a while, but that doesn't mean that I want them deleted ...
Last time I looked, Lil Clark S was still around...

They\'re fixing Task Forces! Now I'm not so annoyed by States saying he wasn't sure for the need of Flashback Mode.

Doesn't look like I've lost any of them. Of course, the one's I suspect would be in the most danger, haven't been played in ages, so that could be why. I did take some protective measures where possible by changing the battle cry and bios and adjusting the main costume (the #1 position) to look original. I hope this has something to do with me not losing any. In most cases, the names would not be a problem for me since I didn't use the exact name of the hero. Even the Devs would have a hard time arguing that "Lyle" or "Cosmic Rokk" are copyrighted

I think the main thing to tweak might be the costumes ... don't make them TOO much like the original costumes. Grem told me a few months back that she had created a tank for her nephew to play named Bruce Green and they deleted him as looking too much like the Hulk ...

Glad you liked the video, Blue! Here's the link again so the rest of you don't miss it. You can see the Legionnaires of Virtue in it in SG mode. (It's a fairly small -- 320x240, 2:38 long, 7.31mb -- and totally G-rated file.) Mike's looking for feedback. He may post it at the CoH site, I think.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that today was it for me. My account expires in a couple of days so I logged in, quit all my SGs (with the exception of Garth, just couldn't bring myself to do that one) and gave Caroline all of my influence (including half a million that the daughter of Countess Crey, Janice Van Dorn, had saved up. Not bad for a level 11.). It was fun while it lasted but I just don't see paying for something I don't have the desire to use anymore. Had the devs left things alone maybe I would feel different, I don't know. But as for MMORPGs this was my first and last experiment with them. Unless DC comes up with something to really knock my socks off (but their game partner, Sony, leaves a lot to be desired) I doubt I'll be back. Anyway, have fun and don't get busted.

Sounds like some pretty cool stuff. But I am just SHOCKED they also didn't trumpet all the nerfs they're coming out with to make the game more fun!

Sigh.
Which nerfs are you referring to now, Seymour? I haven't heard the bad news yet ...

I don't go to the official boards much, so I don't know any specifically. I'm just assuming. Statesman wants to have more fun, and it seems the way he gets it most is by hampering the fun of others. Just seeing Prism breeze through the upper levels, you gotta guess Controllers are next.

I'm thinking I5 will hit test next week, since I doubt the devs will want to have so many folks away when they upload it (though it would be cool to pass out fliers at San Diego saying "I5 now on test!")
As for nerfs, we won't find out anything until hit hits test. However some guesses: - Controllers seem likely to be hit with a high-end nerf but also see a low-end buff. Hopefully it'll be nice in the long haul if you didn't work your controller to 32. One rumored buff would be like the arena's "Controllers do triple damage to held opponents" rule. - The devs have commented that Regen and Invunerbility still seem overpowered, especially when invulnerbility tanks can aggro the entire map safely. Lowering damage-resist caps have been suggested to the devs as one way to weaken Invunerbility to the min/max players but not affect casual players. - Defenders are presumably safe since the last dev post about 'em was that defenders were seen as the best balanced. Some defenders have been calling for a nerf to controller secondaries, however, claiming that high level controllers are more desirable than high level defenders because they're debuff powers are equal once slotted. - Blasters may get something called "desperation" where their damage increases as their HP bar drops. One major issue with that would be how min/max players would use that (i.e., "Don't heal the blaster yet! We need the damage.") - I know they're frustrated with hasten and stamina being percieved as "mandatory" but no word if anything is happening to those two.
Hopefulyl some buffs are in the works, too. I'm really, really hoping someone finally got into States' ear about the endurance problems faced by dark armor and super reflexes.

And some info on new badges and accolades:
Passport and Bughunter
With I4 comes a brand new accolade that, to my knowledge, will not actually be activated until a later date. The ?Passport? accolade is reserved for characters who successfully complete the Server Transfer Trail.
So it looks like server transfers are likely soon but you'll have to complete a trial along the lines of the respec in order to do it ~ Vee
Also, with I3 (I belive, maybe earlier) an accolade labeld ?Bughunter? was introduced. It is unconfirmed exactly what this accolade was intended for. I suspect it was orriginally for CoH beta testers; however, I suppose it could just as easily be fore CoV beta testers.

Also some info I dug up on some temporary powers that have not yet been implemented in the game live but will eventually be available:
Vomit and Toy Bats
There are two temporary powers that are currently incorporated into CoH; however, as far as I know they have never actually been implemented. Hopefully we will see them one day.
Vomit: "One of the all time classic gags, this rubber vomit looks (and smells!) realistic enough to fool anyone. Using it has a good chance of making anyone who sees you use it get ill. Great fun at parties! Recharge: Medium"
Toy Bat: "This bat is covered with a soft foam-like material cushioning its impact. The toy bat does Trivial damage to villains, but can also be used against allies for no damage. And lets face it& some of your 'friends' deserve it. Damage (Villains Only): Trivial, Recharge: Very Fast."
I'm especially looking forward to Vomit seeing as it is programmed as a PBAoE!
