How did the task force go? I really hate the exemplar bug -- especially how the devs say it's not really a bug and that the system is working the way it's supposed to. Grrr.

We had a blast Seymour! It was a great deal of fun. I think Tas, SunBoy, UBB & his friend Night Lurker all leveled during it and Mysa is now just one bubble from reaching level 27.
That exemplar bug/design is a real pain. My guess is that they don't want you to be able to exemplar in order to get on the TF and then unexemplar so the team can just blast it's way through.
Rather than how it currently works though, I would prefer to see the unexemped hero booted from the door mish. He would have to re-exemp in order to re-enter. That way, if something like yesterday happens (where Sunboy lost connection) you would still be able to rejoin the team once he came back or someone else on the team exemplared you.

Yep! Definitely had a great time last night! Actually, Ultra Boi leveled twice going from 21 to 23 at the end of the last mission. So if anyone wants to do it (or another TF) again, let me know. I think the plan for Thursday is still the Caves of Transendence on Virtue. Looking forward to it! UBB

Glad to hear it went so well! I'm surprised Mysa didn't level. She can do it again if she wants to now!

Aw, I can't believe I forgot about the Sister Psyche TF... I think I'm already depending on global chat to find out what everyone else is doing.
Anyway, Mister Brazil on Triumph has the Cave of Transcendence mission. Anyone want to join him... he's going to need three other level 14/15s... recruiting the rest will be easy.

Just to clarify... 16+s are welcome, but the mish definately needs three more 14/15s as sidekicks/exemps.

Did you guys know we are getting another CoH comic series in May? And did you know the writer will be ... Mark Waid?! Top Cow Productions has released details about its City of Heroes comic book, a co-venture with NCsoft and Cryptic Studios that will be written by Mark Waid and is based on the online multiplayer world.
The ongoing series will focus on the signature heroes from the online game, The Freedom Phalanx: Statesman, Manticore, Positron, Sister Psyche and Synapse.
"Our goal is to bridge the gap between game players and comics readers with something that appeals to both and conjures the best elements of both media," said Top Cow Productions President Matt Hawkins. "I've been playing the game since it came out and met with game creator Jack Emmeret and NCsoft marketing guru Kevin Sullivan. Our discussions eventually led to this deal and announcement."
The art is by David Nakayama, who drew Proximity Effect and is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art.
When the City of Heroes comic book launches in May, it will be sent out to all City of Heroes game subscribers.
"The most exciting part for me," said editor-in-chief Jim McLauchlin, "is the fact that we¹ll be sending this out to over 200,000 City of Heroes players every month. There are a legion of fans out there who love comic books as an idea and as a genre, but may have forgotten that they love comic books in and of themselves. This is our chance to remind them. It's a great day for the comic business."

Awesome artwork! I'll miss Apex, War Witch and Horus though. I've grown a bit fond of them. But it will be great to read about Manticore, Statesman, Ms Liberty, Sister Psyche etc.

I've actually not been able to read much of the current series. I found it too campy I guess. And the artwork, to me, was a total turnoff. Like they were trying to adapt a cartoon and not a serious super-hero story.

I agree that the artwork was not so hot. I look forward to the new series as the at looks fantastic. Thanks for the pics, Lightning. I have had to be away from CoH this week (withdrawls). There is a small chance that I'll be able to log on tomorrow night (Sunday) and then should be on more regularly this week. I look forward to seeing you guys and gals online again.

Sigh. Okay, Prism got an invite to the Terra Volta TF last night and I figured 'why not'...
So. We get (rather quickly, it's short) to the last mission and it turns out the end can be ninja'ed. Since Prism's build for that, I'm sent onto that task. I ask 'What am I looking for?' since it's not clear on the Nav bar... 'Just keep going to the end' the leader tells me.
Well, I keep going and going and it turns out the last part is like the cape mission... there's a room where you have to stop the bad guys from attacking an object and once you enter they start. Since my instructions were to keep going I kept going and entered the room that sets them off.
I mention that I'm in a radioactive room (entering does damage) and there's no panic from any team members. In fact, I ask if that's where I want to be and the initial response is "just go to the end" once again. I ask if that means I want to go through the radioactive room and he calmly clarifies that we want the room before. So I'm teleporting teammates in and, well, we all die quickly when the mission fails because I gave them so much time to destroy the reactor.
Sigh.
Anyway, turns the first TV TF is a really short TF... three missions, one and a half that can be ninja'ed.

Aren't you also supposed to keep grabbing coolant backpacks or something to keep the reactor from blowing? Seems to me whoever organinzed the mission was very poorly informed or rather did a very poor job of informing his teammates!

We were really poorly informed... worse we had one teammate who had claimed to have just done the mish and didn't answer my questions, either. (If you're on a pickup team and one person's giving vague directions I don't see why you wouldn't chime in... unless you're busy chatting with your SG.) The leader knew the TF because he was able to explain what went wrong... he just never thought (apparently) to warn me beforehand. Sigh. Bad first TV experience but a good learning experience, I suppose. Sigh. At least I know how that mish goes, now. Good influence. Died too many times to say it was good XP.

I did the Terra Volta mish with Blue once. Basically what you do is fight your way to the reactor room. Before you enter the room itself, there's a machine that you need to expose yourself to because it bubbles you up so you don't take rad damage while you're in the reactor room. The protection doesn't last forever, so you have to keep an eye on it and hop back to get bubbled up again when your bubble expires.
You use coolant belts to keep the reactor stable after it's attacked. Blue's attempt involved Freaks. I was exemped down to level 35 for it. I think the level 24 mish involves sky raiders, and the upper end involves Rikti.
We failed too, Lyle, when our healer got shoved into the reactor and couldn't get out.

Yeah, we faught Sky Raiders, including a buncha those scary Sky Skiffs. We should do that TF sometime, tho, it was kinda fun and the exercise felt pretty cool.

I think the Virtue team is high enough for that. That could be fun.
