I think you DO have to have that serial number but I'm not certain. It should be in the email you received from Cryptic when you donwloaded it. If you didn't save it, you can probably get them to reissue it to you. But I would do so BEFORE you need it. Then print out the email and save it someplace.

You don't need the serial number unless you are re-registering the game, which isn't required. I've reinstalled it three times now and not had to provide the serial number. And NCSoft actually has a place in the account area (where you renew your time) for those who purchased the game online to get the serial number for it.

Just ran yet another dianostic sent to me by TS in order to track the problem. Now it looks like they are gearing towards it being my service provider. What that has to do with my PC shutting down I don't know. If it was like Blue's connectivity issues that's one thing. If I wasn't so pissed I'd go through the whole uninstall process again just to see if it would crash. To me that would prove it is something in their patch system.

Comcast is giving a free 15 day trial of Asheron's Call 2. I think I'll try it out. My friend back home has an XBox and we played some Halo 2. That's kind of tempting me ... and it's not really that expensive a process. The XBox is 150, the game is 50, a subscription to Xbox live for a year is 50, and then whatever the wireless networking gear costs ... definitely cheaper than a new laptop! [/b]I've thought about getting an XBox but that wouldn't do me any good as Caroline's mom watches the only TV that I could use to play on. I wonder if I could connect one to my old flat panel monitor.

Found it, Scott. Xbox LCD Gah. Just looked at the price. It'd be cheaper to buy a TV. 8-)

Oh, man, Scott. Hate to see the problems your having. I had problems with my computer shutting down on occassion while playing the game, and it did lead to estended debt on more than one instance. I hate to say it, but I haven't had that problem in a long time. I think the patches have actually been working for me. Wish there was something I could do...

Thanks SLK. I did have this same problem when they first released issue two but it went away after the first patch. I've never had it last this long. They've also not answered me yet on the last diagnostic. I think I have them finally convinced it isn't my PC. Hell, the laptop is running better now than it did when I first bought it will all the updates I've done. The only problem I have is with CoH.

I have to say that I'm really dreading issue 3 more than wanting it. With all the cockups from Issue 2, I just don't think they'll be able to do the job right ...
I'm also disappointed with the ghost ship. I read about it on the forums, and saw a picture of it. Very lackluster if you ask me ...
Now the Octopus does look cool ...

And again he asks ... Legion Night tonight. Where and who? I'm pretty open. If we play on Infinity Star can show off his new lockdown power. If we play on Virtue I can see about getting Andrew up to 22 and FINALLY get stamina out of the way so I can pick fun powers. 8-)

Now the Octopus does look cool ... Yeah, I have to say I'm not too excited about update 3. There nothing really exciting, content-wise (or I've become easily jaded) save for the zone events, and they're not exciting enough to overcome any bad changes to the gameplay. I vote for Virtue tonight, I haven't played Prism since update 3 hit the test server... and my highest guy that I like on the Infi is level 11.

Oh and has anyone noticed aggro changing after yesterday's patch? Before yesterday, I could throw smoke grenades to my heart's concent and they'd never aggro. Last night (I was on a team so I can't be completely sure) SG seemed to be aggroing the crowd. Too bad, because I had gotten used to passing the time by debuffing the mob when I'm low on end.
Meanwhile, one blaster on our team was getting a ton of aggro, even when he'd try to run off and the rest of the team would try to attack whatever was beating on him. I'd even thow and AoE at him and that wouldn't notably pull the aggro to me. Overall, it seemed off tho we really couldn't tell how.

I didn't have any problems like that last night, but I'll keep an eye out. Doc's up to 17th now, and I still didn't get the Positron badge, now i'll have to exemplar to get it.... or is that still buggy?

You get kicked out of the TF if you unexemplar at all so exemplar with someone you know and trust and also has a solid connection. Jade is level 8, but I could probably work her up to 15... and I think XS ive is on Virtue, too. I'm not into the idea of teaming Jade with strangers because of her appearance.

States just posted some of the Tanker changes they\'ll be posting to the test server The best part tho? When Issue 3 goes live (or shortly thereafter), we will issue a FREE "holiday" respec to ALL characters. Yep. All characters - regardless of Archeype. Woo-hoo! I don't have to reroll Kamisori and Mr Brazil... two characters I've stopped playing after realising I "raised" them badly.

I wonder how long the respec will last? If I keep playing (still e-mailing with support today) I'd love to respec Gung. Does it mean, though, that we have to do the respec mission or do we automatically get the respec?

I'd like to play on Virtue tonight as well. Condo's now a 23 and pretty much out of debt but Mysa has some tough missions and over 8000 in debt so I'd like to work some of that off.
Firebow, I have Rokk at 12, and Quis at 10. I think SLK's Blok is probably still eligible for Positron (though he already completed it, and his Silver Slasher should be eligible as well. I suspect that Seymour's Saturn Lady is still in Positron range also so there are plenty of us that can do it with you.
Regarding the respec: Wow! If it's permanent, that would be awesome. I'll have to see about respec a number of them.
Scott, I wonder if you hang on until issue #3 goes live if you troubles will go away. It sounds like you haven't been having any problems on the test server so maybe THAT patch will resolve the problem you're having. (God only knows what it will do to the rest of us though!)

Just started to log in and saw a notice that Issue #3 is now available for download on the live server though it has yet to go "Live". Looks like just a few days to go before they roll it out. It will begin downloading when you log OFF (like in the past) and you can cancel it at any time so yuo can download it in stages and be ready to play right away when it goes live.

Both Caroline and I just started our updates. Actually we both had to quit then log in again just to quit for it to work. It didn't start the first time.
Now TS is looking at my router being the problem since my connection to their servers isn't going the way they expect it to. None of that explains why my PC shuts down or why I don't have a problem on the test server. I'll stick it out to see what will happen.
I'd like to play tonight as Garth has a ton of debt to work off. I haven't logged him in forever. I've been testing all this time with EAP who has become my favorite character.

Did you read the rest of that post from States, Lyle? Of course they couldn't do stuff for tanks without nerfing someone else.
Regen Scrappers are going to get nerfed by making two of their best powers mutually exclusive. As for the rest of us, we're having our max damage resistance lowered while Tanks stay the same.
I've got a tank in Andrew, so I'm going to see some benefit, but I don't see why everyone else has to take a hit.

I'd love to do the Positron TF with Xs Ive, but I need to get her leveled up quite a bit before that. She's only an 8 ... about halfway to 9. i'd like to get her at least to 14 so I have her travel power ... and at 12 I'll have speed boost which'll make things easier for all of us on the TF ...
And will anyone who plays Posi TF again have TP? *plainitive look*
