Right now I've been playing Blue, getting the history badges.
Where would everyone like to play?

Been playing Hitman 2. Needed to work out some frustrations but really sniping people.
Does anyone have any characters on Victory? I'm trying out a new Dark Melee/Dark Armor Scrapper there.

I've got various characters on Victory that are at level 2 just to try out powers I hadn't used before.
What's your scrapper called?

I know it's late, but if anyone hops on, I'll be on Infinity for a little while.

Anybody on tonight? I'm gonna hop on but don't know where I'll wind up, depending on who I find. Look for Princess (though I need to be careful not to get her to 17), Linus on Freedom or my new Chillflare on Triumph.

In case you were wondering, guys, debt at level 30 is 10k a death.
Blue died 3 or 4 times tonight-- I want to say 4, but I'm not totally sure. I do remember three. Am kinda tired ...
On the plus side, he ended the night a hair under 20k in debt.
I tell you, street hunting at level 30 is kind of like hunting again in Atlas Park as a level 1 ... just about everything there can kill you.
But Blue will get up there. 8-)

Woo-hoo! I got Captain Hottie to level 20 last night!
Finished the Dr Vaz story arc, too. Somehow I did it without "defeating" Dr Vaz. I tried and might have been able to if I tried long enough but the mish XP is was put me over to level 20 and I was impatient to get the Capt a cape.
Blue, CH is the one I was talking about with Super Speed. It's tricky but he can jump over the Perez wall if he finds a springboard because SS gives a jump boost (as does sprint, just enough to make things a lot easier). Speed is a pain in zones like Boomtown and Faultline, tho, because of the big huge pits.

Sky Raiders in boomtown? Neat. I won't be on for a while since I'm still on at work but Prism could use some time out in PC...

Vee,
Is Doc now too high for Synapse TF or was Condo SKing him?
Blue has died more times over the last couple of days than he's died in months ... but I finished the night out of debt. 8-)

One of these days I need to get Charlie Brown or Sally Brown up to 14 so I can see what superjump is like. AlmightyGremlyn is going to have TP as a travel power if I ever get to play her enough to level her... I may take her into the Hollows at some point and just stand around doing idle heals if nothing else ... I just hate teaming with people I don't know though ... pickup teams tend to be bad ...

Doc, when he left, was 16. So he can still do Synapse right? Glad you got Blue out of debt. Maybe now he can help powerlevel Gung. I can't believe that Garth has 14K in debt. But he earned a full bubble + tonight. I think I'm halfway to 23 now.

He's starting to believe Gung's hype about the Crey... you can really see their hands dipping into everything once you start doing mishs in the 30s ... I just wish I could get a stable connection... it'd make my life so much easier. I try not to do door mishs unless I have someone who can team with me to act as a doorstop ... when you get disconencted, you lose all the progress you have made on a mish since you entered it. I wouldn't mind the disconnects nearly so much if I just didn't have to worry about that...

Yeah Doc is still 16, getting close to 17 I imagine, but I don't think he leveled last night. Mysa had him SKed last night and the two of them took out Dr. Vahz after taking down a whole bunch of Sky Raiders.

So, who's left who can do Synapse with Doc? Sounds like Garth, Mysa and Condo are out. Grev's still a couple bubbles away from 22 and could SK him. Could a small force do it this weekend?

Andrew is still under 22. That's one of the reasons I haven't been playing him. Unless it's changed since I last played Andrew, I think that Prism should still be under level 22 as well. Tas just recently hit 20, didn't she?
So it sounds to me like Andrew, Tas, Prism, and Grev could do it one more time.
I'd have time to do it this weekend, but with Thanksgiving coming up I won't have access to a COH-worthy PC from Thursday until probably Sunday afternoon next wekend....

I probably should try to get Gung up to that level at least since it was part of his background when I created him.

Okay, so I guess the panic has started at NCSoft/Cryptic. According to Caroline (who can sit at home and play in the mornings) the servers were off line for an extremely long time this morning. Longer than normal for server updates. It appears that the devs/GMs are going through accounts and either shutting them down completely or deleting characters that have any tie (name, costume, whatever) to established trademarked/copyrighted characters.
It was bound to happen and this is probably just their way of getting ready for their battle with Marvel, whether it goes to court or not. But this will severely limit the characters you go in to play with if using such characters.
I'm not sure they would go after any of our Legion based ones. At least the ones using the Legionnaire's real names instead of their codename. But ones like my lil' Bruce will probably be toast if he even still exists. Sure they made me change his name but he still looks like Batman. A 48th level character who I've seen before that goes (or went) by the name of Son of Krypton and looked as close to Supes as you can get was deleted today. So I know they are watching and waiting.
Just be careful who you play for awhile I guess. None of our new Avengers should venture out of the mansion for quite awhile. We all might just be best off playing original characters or even the ones we based on CoH mythos.

One person on the boards reported that (s)he got an e-mail because their character had a name similar to a Marvel character, even though that was where the resemblance ended -- look and powers did not match at all.
I'm not sure which of our characters would be safe from scrutiny. When I saw him do a trivia contest in SDCC, they seemed pretty knoweldable about comics, tho I never got the nerve to asking for a Legion question, so maybe they won't jump on the more obscure ones like Mystical Mysa. (Hey Vee, if they e-mail you tell 'em you're an anime fan and it's inspired by Mysa Hayase from Macross... Lisa Hayes in the American Robotech... she landed on a magic planet and studied there.)
Then again that brings up the question of what makes an infringement. I mean, is Doc Nimbus a trademark infringement, as an original character inspired by a trademarked one?
Anyway, it's a big question mark, but I think we've got a good number of fun characters that aren't problematic. If they don't take actions on our accounts, just the characters, we'll definately be fine.
