Just beat the game and got the costumes! It's nice having all those original duds and everything from the flashbacks. There are some odd costumes thrown in the mix to, like this white number for Storm.

Colossus? Really? Why didn't they ever hook up? Wasn't there an Exiles storyline or Mutant X storyline with a Colossused-up Rogue?
I have this for Gamecube but do the other platforms all for linked play? That'd be awesome!

I thought that Colossus and Rogue did have something going at one time. I do know that as long as he was in his armored form they could touch and even shared a kiss once.
But if Rogue touched him when not in armored form, then she could absorb his power.

The Colossus/Rogue connection was started during X-Men Revolution, with Rogue's powers going haywire and Colossus dying shortly thereafter...so not too much time to explore that relationship. From what I remember before I stopped collecting (picked back up with New X-Men), Colossus was interested since Kitty was being weird, while Rogue was tempted but knew it was the wrong thing to do.
Man, those X-Treme costumes are hokey...but the other additional ones are tres groovy.

Man I've been so busy I haven't had time to play since I last posted! I was workin' out at the Danger Room and some of those movies are really annoying! Maybe its just cause I'm not used to them but it took me forever to learn some of the moves. Hey Future did you primarily used the 'auto increase' for the experience meters? I didn't know where to put the experience power ups to make them the most effective...

No, sir. I usually just tossed the stat points & experience wherever I needed it.
For stat points, focus heavy on Strike for melee fighters (Wolvie, Colossus, Rogue) and Focus for energy-types (Cyke, Jubilee, Iceman). Body is a good thing to keep up, though it should usually be half if not less of the person's Strike/Focus (depending on who they are). Agility is okay to keep up, but save for slower people like Rogue or Colossus its hardly needed.
In the powers/abilities section, I mostly focus on leveling up everyone's main mutant power, as well as the their toughness, mutant mastery, and flight if available. Most of the secondary mutant attacks and the third, "defensive" mutant power-up attack don't do too much for you in the long run. Best to waste the points acquiring those attacks AFTER you get some stat or body changing abilities like Leadership (Storm/Cyclops), Leap of Faith (Crawler), Healing Factor (Wolvie), and special things like that.

They're already working on Legends 2! Can we at least get a Legion 1 first? http://newsarama.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20017 I played a little bit the other day with a friend but I still haven't beat Pyro yet...

I beat Pyro and Toad with my brother! The flashback costumes for the Sentinels vs. X-Men we a little trippy but still cool. I couldn't stop the Sentinels from killing Jean, Nightcrawler and Cyclops but at least Wolverine kicked their collective metal butts in the end! Man, I wish all superhero videogames could be this much fun (and that there were more of them like this!)...

I thought I'd bump and sticky this again since the new ones out. Any else have it? It's even cooler then the 1st one. You can play with both X-Men and Brotherhood of Evil Mutants characters.

And don't you forget it - I didn't even use any cheat guides or anything Actually, I haven't bought a game since the horrible, horrible disappointment that was Mario Sunshine (which I still haven't truly finished - I beat Bowser and left it at that). Since then, I've played a few of my old N64 games here and there (and that joypad is still the best-designed ever, barring some resiliency problems with the control stick), but XML1 is my first new game for quite some time. It was enjoyable, I have to say, but a couple of the bosses were a bit easy - especially <strike>Megabyte</strike> Magneto - and the team-based nature of the game made some stuff easier than it might have been (by the end, Jean could zap just about everyone, and when I was struggling against Master Mold, I just zapped Colossus's main punch up to "insanely powerful levels" (since I'd barely used him to that point, I had tons of stat points for him to do with as I pleased) and punched his leg into oblivion )

I got it but haven't played too much. I think that there's a bunch of random and more obscure characters in it - Grizzly?!? And the Blink feature is convenient. I still find myself like totally ignoring using certain characters - is that bad?

I've never gotten past the part on XL1 where you have to rescue the sailors in a set amount of time. It's very annoying. I seem to be doing much better in XL2.

He wasn't exactly a good guy but I can't imagine him going over to Apocalypse. Like you, I also ignore many characters. I pretty much don't use the Brotherhood.

That tells you where you need to go at all times. Characters: - Make sure you have Cyclops on your team for the welding - which you should always do at the first opportunity. Other characters can do it, but it's simplest with him.
- Make sure you have Wolverine on your team to destroy the power inhibitor.
- Make sure you have Iceman or Magma on your team - you have a bridge to build. Magma's better since she can act as a backup welder.
- Finally, a flier's always helpful. With no Jean, I chose Rogue, although you could use Storm, or Iceman if you never fly but want a backup bridger.

You know who I feel bad about not using? Rogue. I just never much cared for her for some reason...
oh and re: rescuing the sailors, I'd suggest using someone who can cover large distances quickly and your lead character - like if you have Nightcrawler in the lead, have him bamf from place to place so you can get around more quickly to save the sailors. You can also try Wolverine in the lead with this 'fast run' or any of the flying characters, who tend to fly faster than folks run...

I went through most of it with five characters - Cyclops, Magma, Wolverine, Iceman and Jean. After that, I used Rogue as my main flier-backup for the "No Jean" missions, and used Storm a couple of times (although for the three simultaneous missions, I experimented with trying three wholly different teams. Eventually, I rationalised that the Muir Isle team would have got back and put three of them onto the riot squad and the fourth onto the Morlock squad ). Other than that, I used Nightcrawler once or twice, and Colossus at the very end as I said before. The only character I didn't touch (bar the mysterious blank space...) was Gambit, unless you count the times I beat him up in the Danger Room

I use Rogue plenty in XML2. Her power absorbing ability is actually useful in some cases. One great team is Rogue, Juggernaut, Colossus, and Wolverine. They're the Brawlers - it's an actual titled formation. And thanks for the suggestions on who to use for XML1. I've tried various formations but have still had trouble. I will give the large map a shot. (I always have the small map on.) But how do you get to use Magma? I've never had access to her outside of the Danger Room. I'm guessing you have to complete the game at least once to use her. Pity she didn't make it to XML2.

He always got slaughtered first no matter who was on the team and even when I played him. As a result, I never even bothered with him in the second game.
