I'm going to miss his portrayal of Lennie Briscoe on the Law and Order franchise, and as the voice of Lumiere in "Beauty and the Beast" he sang probably my favorite Disney musical number "Be Our Guest." I will miss those infamouse Lennie Briscoe one-liners.

His Lenny Briscoe made L&O really enjoyable, and I was looking forward to the spinoff. I heard he had been diagnosed with cancer, but that it was caught early, so doctors were very positive. I guess that was not the case. Condolences to his family and friends! Craig C. - Time travel stories are told in chronillogical order.

Orbach had taped at least three of the six episodes filmed before they stopped for his illness. His character will be replaced by a new character. NBC has declined to say, though, how Briscoe will be written off or who will be replacing him.
