I watched on Tuesday but only half of the show on Wednesday. As usual, I don't really enjoy the audition rounds, but it's great that Idol's back.

I liked Pants on the Ground and well, the General, in general. I won't buy the single, though. I'm in awe of Deirdre. I only saw Wednesday's show and I don't remember any of their names. I hope you're taking notes girl, because if you just remember all that stuff you're going to put me in a deep funk. sigh (I'm glad you're here, though, either way! ) My favorite Idolers are Taylor Hicks, the 2 Davids and Adam Lambert. And Pickler but I only have Taylor's albums. I know, sad, but I adore him. I don't miss Paula, even though I don't like the gal that joined last year, forget her name. Ellen should be so much fun! I am waiting patiently for her to join the cast. I'd miss Simon terribly, I'm afraid. He and Ryan are my favorites. But, I'm not really a super Idol fan. Hicks and Lambert drew me in from the beginning but all of the other seasons have been hit or miss.

I'm lucky to have the TV just a few feet away from the computer, so I can type in the names right away before I forget them.

Tonight's guest judge is Shania Twain -- yuck. Caitlin - generic Big Voice. Amy - too nasal. Charity - cute and talented. Angela - not my cup of tea. Curley - squeak, squeak Alannah - squeak, squeak, squeak Brian - and more squeaking Harold - ... Chantelle - ... John - finally, someone else I like; a sturdy baritone. God, Shania is annoying. Paige - show-offy Simon echoed my thoughts! Justin - why do my ears hurt so bad? Keith - screechy Marcus - potential This episode was, bar the few bright spots, pure torture to watch! Hopefully tomorrow's will be better.

John was cute-- Shania was silly twirling that peice of her shirt. I think she did have the hots for him!
This was probably my least favorite audition episode on record...

WHOA!! I just read a horrific spoiler on Vote For The Worst about Angela (the girl who made it through for the third time in tonight's episode, after dropping out/being ousted in previous Hollywood rounds due to runs of bad luck that include her father's death and having to report for a traffic court date)---

How awful! Poor Angela.
Shania already had a lot of bad karma to pay even before her appearance on AI. One thing I didn't catch -- was it Shania or Kara who lamely quipped "Yum!" when Caitlin said she was going to sing Duffy's "Syrup and Honey"? I hope it was Shania, because that's gonna add to her bad karma.

There was nothing particularly fun or funny this time.
Why does Shania have such bad karma, Deirdre? I thought she was silly, but seemed to be having a good time.

I don't know anything about Shania's personal life so I just chalked up her behavior to being nervous and feeling a little out of place on the judges panel. I saw the second day in Chicago (the last 1/2 hour) and like last Wednesday's showing, I agree that it was pretty bad, and very sad. How can people not know how bad they are? My church 'choir' (we don't even go by that name)is mediocre, at best and even when really blessed. Then, there are the ones who's friends tell them they're bad and they ignore them. And the ones who think that trash talking and blustering will somehow make up for no training or talent. sigh Tonight, I really felt bad for the girl with asthma. She was using her inhaler after she got her gold card, for goodness sake. How can she think her circulatory system can stand up to a life of personal appearances, jet lag, smokey clubs and constant singing? I missed last Tuesday and only saw half of tonight's show, and I am totally unimpressed so far. Maybe, Florida will have some light at the end of the tunnel. Ya think?

Re: Shania Twain, I don't know anything about her personal life either, but I do have an image of it in my mind, and it's so ugly that it's better I skip the details and leave it at that.
Even though I dislike her intensely, I was half-kidding about the bad karma. I just think something's gotta come around after all of the excruciatingly bland songs with obnoxious music videos she's given us.
What puts its in a nutshell, I think, was her comment last night about peeing herself during an audition when she was younger. That's way too much information, and it shows she has no class.

Thanks for that response, Deirdre. I was wondering after your post, if Shania did something really nasty that I hadn't heard about. My guess was that she had affairs or something and that was what broke up her (Still the One?) marriage.

You're welcome, Sketchy. I seem to recall some news headline about her ex-husband having an affair, but I wouldn't be surprised if she'd been unfaithful as well, especially after the way she was drooling and dropping innuendoes last night.
I won't be able to watch AI tonight, but I'm going to tape it and watch it tomorrow night.

What station will X-FACTOR be on and when? (Don't they have copyright issues with Marvel/Disney using that name?) And how do I get to the list of 24? Darn you LASHTOT! You foster discontent among the masses! Or among MY masses, anyway! I liked Florida's tryouts better than any of the others, so far, by the way. The man with the autistic child is a darlin' and the girl with the muscle issue is a sweetie, too. I liked the sisters, blue and yellow, the little/thin guy who tried out before and ESPECIALLY, the big kid with the cowboy hat, his dad's truck and a juvenile bank robbery record. I think I'd like him to go, at least, to the top 3. sigh And where is Deidra with the amazing list, including names? I'm already thinking of her wonderfulness as a tool to aid my stupid memory! sorry

Shadykins, click here to see the top 24 list! Even though I love AI, I do enjoy this site. They're just so FUNNY, and they love AI too in their own way. Warning though-- cursing and trash talk is sprinkled throughout the articles and posts, often humorously used but sometimes mean-spiritedly used.

Sorry I haven't been posting here. The Chicago episode drained my enthusiasm more than I thought. I think what I'll do is wait until the Top 24. Then I'll DEFINITELY return.

The best thing about Tues night's episode was how cute Avril is and what a KNOCKOUT Katy Perry is! Whoa!

Okay, how geeky am I? Let me count the ways! Here is an American Idol contestant made from a video game character editor (Soul Caliber) posted at a comic book message board! MWAH! Adam Lambert....
