AND THE SAVE HAS BEEN USED!!!!!
I'll agree that it might as well have been used on this contestant, especially since there appears to be little chance of my fave performer being in jeopardy before top 5.
Next week: DISCO! That should be fun for Adam and, therefore, me!
Last night I missed Kris and Danny due to life-glitches.
LOVED Adam as usual and agreed that Simon's "Rocky Horror" comment was a compliment!
I agree with Sketchy & Shady that I would have enjoyed seeing Lil do a full-on gospel version of THE ROSE. As it was it was just so-so.
I didn't like ALLSION as much as usual.
The rest: Dull and too much "falshitto" as VFTW calls it...

At least the show had a happy ending last night, sort of. Darn it, Simon! I hated Matt's solo song, but thought he was amazing during the opening group number. And I have to say that I agreed with Tarantino's comment to Danny that he needs to stop using his hands the way he does during his solos. They're really distracting and annoying. 2 gone next week. Maybe, I'll have to start voting again.

OMG... the Idol tour comes here in July... I've gotta go on the off-chance that I might meet Adam and make him fall in love with me! He's a drama geek... I wonder if he's into comics...?

I don't feel particularly enthused by the show. It's not that I hate disco or anything, it's just that those songs have been so over-done.
Lil, Danny and Matt did all give karaoke performances, even if they had little touches of update.
Kris and Alison did interesting arrangements and were strong.
Adam was awesome.

Yeah, Adam had the same effect on me that he did on Paula. He actually made me cry. I don't really understand why. He's just a phenom. I voted 10 times for him. And 10 times for Kris. I absolutely loved his arrangement. He's not Adam, but who is? And I voted 10 times for Anoop. He's just come so far. His voice is beautiful and his last two performances have shown how much he's matured. I hate Matt's hat. Danny annoys me ~ he's not coachable, even by great talents like Tarantino and Smokey Robinson. Allison almost always sounds exactly the same, regardless of the topic song. And Lil is flat, flat, flat. Adam is so awesome. (How come he has such fantastic arrangements everytime?)

My top 3 were Adam, Kris & Allison.
4th place would likely be Anoop.
The rest can go bye-bye now for all I care.

I think tonight's results and both boots off were not unexpected, although I thought one of them might have gone at least 1-2 weeks earlier than they should have coming off the heels of a very good performance last night.
Little Archuletta was really good, I liked his song! I have, in fact, enjoyed ALL of the former contestants' return performances this season. Very good, Idol!
I enjoyed Paula's choerography segment too. She really hasn't been worthless ballast this year, has she? I think the addition of Kara has really convinced her to step up this season.
I kinda felt a little bad for the 70s singers... Thelma Houston can still tear it up though. KC sounded like himself, still. I dunno, I was glad they all got a chance to perform again.

Wow, everyone that's left is really good. It took me a long time to start enjoying Kris, but I do now. I've always liked Danny and Matt and Alison, though Matt really needs to take care with his song choices. Adam's my favorite by far. I don't miss anyone who's gone on a singing level, and I don't think I'll really miss Lil or Anoop that much.
I'll have to go back and re-read my reviews of Archeletta. I'm just not that into him.
The old people singers were cute as a novelty.

sigh I knew Anoop was a long shot . . . I enjoyed David and his song, it seemed to be pretty original and even memorable. His voice is so lovely and he's such a sweetie. I thought his encouragement was spot on, too. I didn't really 'do' the disco era ~ into Christian music and stuff, still am. Although I remember the BeeGees, Donna Summer and Dance Fever. I was kind of hoping to see John Travolta tonight. I just knew that Adam would pick a song from that movie, I just wasn't expecting the one he chose! About the others ~ Danny should never wear glasses and Matt should never wear a hat. Allison needs her hair cut into a Tinkerbell shape. And I hope Simon doesn't leave the show. He's harsh sometimes, but usually realistic and funny. Well, here's to next week! Cheers1

OK, if my sources are correct, next week is supposed to be jazz standards/Rat Pack week... IF this is true, how does this showcase any kind of modern, current style? NOT that I am criticising those classic songs, but, you know.
IT IS TIME TO DITCH THE THEME WEEKS. Especially since it's so easy to make any theme fit your style, ever since the genius of Chris Daughtry was on display a couple years ago.
I can see "Rat Pack" week being very good to pouty-faced Matt. And to a lesser extent, Adam (because this guy can do ANYthing) and Kris and Danny. I see it DESTROYING Allison.
DITCH THE THEMES, AI! I hope my info is wrong. Let the Idols in the future live and die by songs of THEIR choice in genres of THEIR choice in styles of THEIR choice.
Anyway, rant over.
Sketchy, I remember I wasn't Archuletta's biggest fan and was rooting for Cook all last year... and I liked both of their performances this season. If I had the cash to burn, I'd go out right now and buy Melinda, Brooke, both David's and Jennifer Hudson's cds. As my funds don't allow that, I am currently planning to buy J-Hud's CD come payday (I *loved* her last week!! She's precious, and I've always had a crush on her).

This was a good night! I like everybody that's left and I like the Rat Pack, generally speaking.
My least favorite to most favorite....
5. Matt. I wasn't wowed. I remember Melinda and Constantine both did this song better.
4. Kris. He did a fine job, but even though I like him more now than I used to, I still find him kinda dull.
3. Alison. I thought she did a great job of staying herself with a classic song. She looked great.
2. Adam. He was a superstar, no question about it. His talent and showmanship are undeniable.
1. Danny. I just love this song! Danny's vocals with this arrangement totally excited me. I loved it.

I think I agree with Lash. The themes aren't working for me. I always disliked Disco so last week didn't thrill me and I never got into the 40's/50's lounge lizard style of music so this week didn't do it for me either.
Unfortunately I've hit that part of AI where none of the peeps I was behind early on are still around and I don't have that much invested in the remaining contestants. I actually had a mini debate with myself whether to watch Idol or a two-part Enterprise rerun on Sci-Fi.

I enjoyed everyone equally with the exception of Matt. Time for him to go. He came nowhere close to Constantine or Melinda's versions.
I'm thinking we should prepare for a Danny/Adam showdown finale.

I agree ~ it's probably going to be Adam and Danny. I only voted for Adam this time. I just decided I didn't really care about who else stayed or went. Kris is a sweetie, though. I Loved the guest mentor, Jamie Fox. I missed whatever Taylor Hicks did that Ryan thanked him for at the end, . Well, LLASH should know who leaves pretty soon! I got a couple of hours. sigh

Well maybe a Danny v. Adam finale is NOT a gaurantee, judging from tonight's (to me) surprising bottom 3 results...........

Yes, we almost lost Adam! How is that possible?! Stupid show . . . However, I loved Taylor Hicks and his number. He was trying so hard to prove he was a good winner. He's doing pretty good with a new album out, working on Broadway in Grease and he's looking fantastic. I wish I knew how to keep Adam there until the end. sigh

Tonight I liked, in order from fave to least fave:
Adam & Allison's duet, "Slow Ride".
Allison's solo, "Cry Baby".
Kris' Beatles solo.
Adam's LedZep solo.
Kris & Danny's duet.
Danny's solo. I felt like he was stealing Adam's "shtick" for lack of a better word.
I voted 5 times for Adam, 4 times for Allison and 1 time for Kris. Danny can go suck eggs.

I love some rock, so I knew this would be an interesting show. Overall, I thought it was pretty good.
My least to most favorite...
Danny solo. He screeched that last note. I'm a fan, but he should have tried something else.
Danny & Kris duet. Yes, the harmonies worked, but the whole rest of it was odd. I never liked that song anyway.
Kris solo. The judges were too hard on him, IMO. It wasn't *that* bad. It was pretty good.
Allison solo. I liked it. It really worked for her.
Adam solo. Perfect choice! It was cool!
Allison & Adam duet. So fun and thrilling! I loved it.

Yeah, Danny was pretty bad. I was glad that Simon actually had the guts to say how bad that last note was but Danny was off on a lot of the notes. Kris was really fresh and fun on the Beatles song. Is he the only one to play an instrument? He looked very natural with the guitar. I especially liked the A&A duet. I only voted for Adam 'cause last week really scared me!

I expected Kris to be out, and then for Allison to take third with Danny and Adam in the finale. I'm always really bad at predictions, though. I think way back in the beginning of the season, I predicted a pretty girl would win. Uh.... no.

Just so it wasn't Adam leaving, I'm happy. I was glad Kris stayed. I'm pretty sure the other 3 will get album deals, whether they win or not, so having him stay is a good thing for his future. I missed the first half of the show while talking with a son who's visiting from Guam. We watched the last half of the show together, and we both thought that Daughtry's new song was kind of boring. I liked Taylor's single from last week much better. I was sorry to miss Paula's number.

Well that was as good a final 3 as I've seen since I started watching back in season 3. No real deal-breaking moments if you don't count the fact that Danny just causes me to dislike him with no explainable reason.
So far I've only been able to get in 1 vote for Adam. I'm intending to do some more, and to also vote for Kris a couple times.
