It seems like there will be a very young, attractive set of contestants in Hollywood.
I'm glad the audition section is nearly over. I may or may not watch tomorrow night.

I loved hippychick Rose. I like hippychicks. So free-lovin' and stuff.
I'm going to try to catch tonight, but no promises.
Vote for the Worst is full of spoilers about who is making the top 36!!

Well, of course I watched. The guy who joked with Simon was cracking me up! I can't imagine that he'll get through Hollywood.
Yeah, lots of pretty, pretty girls getting through. I predict a pretty girl winner this season!

So this is the way I like AI... the hour went by SO fast! We heard some very good potential singers.

I'll watch again tomorrow night. I didn't hear anyone with a voice that would make me consider buying their CD tonight.
-2 cents worth - more or less
The guy with the comedy shtick both ticks me off for the unfunny schlock (I laugh at some of it too though-I know I'm pathetic) and surprises me because the guy really does have some talent deep down inside there, he's got a nice voice. I mean, I get it, it's easier to handle rejection by playing the clown and he's genuinely surprised by making it through the auditions so far. Have we found this year's Sanjaya?
Paula gave me a laugh during his audition too, "I really want to hear your voice. I want to hear you sing all stripped down" very awkward nervous chuckle moment.
The bikini girl annoys me. She's already set herself up as a victim but she can't effin sing! When she gets tossed she'll be all sob sister, "She hates me! That's why!" but I can't stand her singing through her nose like that.
Simon is smiling more than ever. What's up with that?

I have a favorite... the dark-haired gravelly-voiced chick who sang original stuff in the auditions and makes weird faces when she sang in Hollywood.
I have been totally surprised-- though not really unpleasantly-- that comedy-singer dude has made it thus far.
Tonight's group drama just about wore me out.
Was anyone surprised to see the MEGA-HOT Osmond boy go home?

People are so stupid, stupid, stupid to let their own personal drama get in the way of doing a great job in the groups. And don't they know that complicated choreography NEVER impresses? And how can they spend HOURS practicing a song and forget the words? I mean, I know nerves and fatigue kick in, but if they can't do this, how do they expect to be able to perform a WHOLE song in front of hundreds of people in a live audience (plus millions watching on tv, then on youtube forever after)?

There were a lot of good singers in Hollywood. This could be a year where they don't have dumb clowns stealing time away from good singers in the competition. That'd be great!

Tonight just made me tired. I don't care for these interview session shows.
Are they going to do the mentor bit this season?

I love Adam, but I haven't heard him sing yet. lol He's just so beautiful and poised and his manner is so lovcly (and that's just from the moment I saw him tonight).
How come the judges pick so many people who just push a song out with that kind of flat sound?
There were a few who weren't like that, the blind guy and the one with glasses, come to mind.
I was glad that they kept both of the construction workers, even though they were in the last singoff.
A singin' and a dancin' along the way.

Lots of queermosexuals in the top 36. My favorite: It's between "Wicked" Adam and Dueling Pianos boy.
Tatiana must be nutso... she goes from gigglepuss to crybaby WAY to easily. Her "it's all about me" nature naturally offends my "it's all about me" sensibilities.
Joanna Pacitti has been disqulaified in case you didn't already know. IMO, with good reason. She had an album out as recently as 2006, her boyfriend is mega-cutie Mark Ballas from "Dancing with the Stars", she has appeared in ads and commercials and she apparently has a 'relationship' with many at 19 ENTERTAINMENT. I'm with vote for the worst.com, she was an obvious "plant", full deails on their website. VFTW is celebrating her disqualification. Some girl named Felicia is taking her place. I can agree with them that this should be more about making a star from an unkown rather than someone already so connected. So YAY for Felicia.
Lil Rounds has an awesome, star-quality name.
I have learned that girl I like who acts odd but sings good is named Jackie. She's in the top 36.
Memphis girl Alexis Grace is there too!

I like widower Danny. I can't believe his BFF was cut! I heard they might have Wild Cards again, so maybe he'll be back?
It's too early for me to know very many names. Danny and Tatiana stand out... and Lil Rounds. She fills the Latoya London/Jennifer Hudson/Melinda type - a type I like a LOT!

I'm not actually going to vote, but my choices are...
Guy: Danny - He was AWESOME, which is cool cuz I already like him... and he did a Mariah song and I love Mariah... but he didn't just copy her, he did it his way.
Girl: Alexis (Alexa?)She looked HOT! and I love a petite little white girl who can sing Aretha with power and soul.
Third place: Anoop or the Oil Rigger Guy or the Braddy guy. Braddy for talent, Anoop and Oil Rigger for personality with some talent.
Tatiana was on medication.
There were some really pretty girls who can't sing very well... actually, who don't know how to pick a song.

Yeah ~ the song picking was pretty bad last night. Yes, Danny was great and I liked Anoop Dog ~ great way to get his name remembered. The Oil Rigger has potential, I think and my oldest son, who watched Idol with me last night, likes the little white haired gal. Those are the 4 we'd pick to go on even though I don't vote this early. My bad.

Candle, looks like we're in touch with America because Alexis, Danny and Oil Rigger Guy made it!
I have a feeling Anoop may get called back as a wild card choice. We'll see.
Tatiana showed some of her colors tonight, only some. She probably saw her annoying self on tv and decided to tone it down. She may have wild card potential, too. Again, we'll see.

Yeah, Sketch but Jeremy (the son) picked all 4, that is if the country western boy was a finalist. I was at Bible study and missed until the last few minutes.
I probably don't understand the wild card thing. I thought the judges were supposed to use one tonight. They'll save them until the end?
I don't think Anoop OR Tatiana are talented enough to win but who knows what'll happen next?
I'm glad the judges saved them for later!

I was channel surfing and stopped on the country channel and saw Carrie Underwood singing Randy Travis' song, "I Told You So."
Wow.
She's awesome.
I didn't know the song, but it's beautiful and so is she.

Did Idol keep 4 the first time or just 3? Wednesays are hard because Bible study usually runs until 8:30 or so. I only get to see the last 15 minutes. Could someone who watches the whole thing write about the essentials that night or post a link? Please.

Seacrest said that America will vote to keep the top vote getting guy and girl. Then, a third spot will go to the very next highest vote-getter, either guy or girl. So, last week, Danny, Alexis and Oil Rigger were voted in.
This will happen 2 more times, for a total of 9 contestants voted in. THEN, there will be 3 Wild Card contestants, chosen by the judges- for a total of 12.
Whew!
Also, AI is supposed to be on Wed and Thu this week instead of Tue and Wed. Wierd!

Adam was like a hot sexy young gay Elvis. Crap on a stick, he's good.
I know she'll never make it through but I *LOVED* the girl who sang 'Bette Davis Eyes'. I'm a big ol' Kim Carnes fan from WAY back and I thought this chick sang the song better than Kim. She has that voice that sounds like its been drug across a gravel road. LOVE it.

Yeah, Adam was the star of the show. I have to agree with Lash's description of him. The trouble is, not everyone is into that kind of thing.
I liked the really pretty blonde girl with the tats, her performance was a little bit weird.
My other favorite was the 16 year old girl who rocked "Alone" by Heart. She's weird too.
I did not like the welder guy's performance. I didn't like a lot of performances, and as the judges kept saying, a lot of good singers chose odd songs and did them poorly.
BTW, weird is not an insult in my vocabulary. It's a meant as a descriptor.

Thanks fpr explaining to me, Sketch. I was thinking I had the day wrong last week!
I liked a number of them including 'Bette Davis Eyes'.
But I voted for Adam and Megan(7) and 5(a couple of times).
I just thought they were the strongest and would make for a good competition.
I llked the last girl with the Heart song, too.
This 12 seemed stronger than the last 12. I don't think Oil Rigger would have made it in this last group.
Which is sad because I like him as much as I like the Welder and want them to do well. sigh
I really think AI should start with 18 rather than 12 when there's so many promising kids,
