*cringe!* Thank Space it was only 1 hour last night. I couldn't have handled 2. Ryan said only *11* of the thousands from Las Vegas made it to Hollywood, and we saw only two of those 11-- the adorable little Indian girl and he grey-haired George Clooney-ish country guy. I liked both of them.

Tonight: Austin, TX. Maybe Beagz, Stargazer or Vu tried out!

PLEASE let this be the last audition episode. I have SO grown weary of them. Im ready for the Hollywood episodes!!

Not trying to lift teh blame on Simon being a bit of a tit, but it's worth remembering that while the audition stages of this season of AI were being filmed he was also working as a judge and mentor on the second season of X Factor here in the Uk so was actually flying to and from America a couple of times a week throughout the whole process and working on two programmes at the same time. That doesn't really forgive his attitude a lot of the time (and considering his the executive producer on both shows he could easily have made sure they weren't simulatneous) but it does maybe explain why he's even more irritable than normal. Plus the factt hat on X Factor he was having to deal with Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh...

Lash, I can't agree with you more. After last night I may just quit watching until the competition starts in Hollywood. A whole hour dedicated to the worst is too much.

And I thought the guy who passed looked more like Jay Leno than Clooney.

I'll second that - what a horrible show last night. Couldn't they have at least shown us more than 2 who got through? We'll have enough horrible singing when we get to the top 12. wink I thought Simon was off the wall on his comments to the gray haired guy. I'm finding that I really dislike Simon so far this year. mad

People I know in RL only seem interested in talking about the good singers they've shown. There's no William Hung or Keith (the Like a Virgin guy) this year, so the funniest part of the auditions isn't happening.

I've missed half the auditions anyway, so I don't feel very connected to the show this year. I also can't wait to see the actual competition.

Someone just told me about a kid who passed who had only sang to his Turkeys. Who was that?
And sorry Lash, I didn't try out in Austin. But then again, maybe so. smile

Vu, "turkey boy" is discussed in this earlier post I made:

Li'l Cowboy was the one I was happiest to see make it through, though I've learned not to get too attached this early-- because in the past, Hollywood has seen the dismissal of some of my early favorites ("Scooter Girl", Blue-haired chick).
Paula passed on him, but Simon and Randy took a shine to him. He was real itty-bitty and cute, got all flustered when he couldn't remember the title of the song he was going to sing (it was "Can You Feel The Love Tonight"), and his voice cracked every time he spoke. But when he sang, it was pretty powerful. Not at all what you would expect to be coming out of that mouth.

I didn't think he would make it through, but Simon gave him a "yes" after inquiring about whether or not the kid had any money for voice lessons, and the kid said he didn't. I (and judging from the AI MB, many others) took an instant like to him.

Anyhoo, last night... Austin was pretty bad. I am honestly tired now of them letting these whack-jobs into the auditions. There are so many of them, that people who might actually otherwise make it to Hollywood are getting passed on because the judges are so freakin' annoyed and irritated. Only 12 people from Austin made the cut. Poor, poor, poor.

I was surprised to see that cute, stuck on himself guy actually had a voice. But he's shown in next Wednesday's HOLLYWOOD episode preview (at LAST!) bawling his conceited eyes out! *tee hee!*

The "fit model" was cute and I liked her personality (she was real silly!). I'll be surprised if she survives the Hollywood rounds, though.

So, only ONE more audition episode (Boston)... thank gawd. Then, next Weds, HOORAY FOR HOLLYWOOD!!!!

I missed both episodes this week, and I actually don't really care! Yikes! I just read on yahoo that Sway is questionably eligible for this season. He's been in a band that might or might not have a current contract in place... I guess he denies it on his website. Again, not sure I really care that much.

Yes, HOORAY FOR HOLLLYWOOD!!! That's when it gets good anyway.

Thanks Lash.

And the final round of the Austin Audtions didn't even happen in Austin. When they were supposed to do the final round here in Austin, we were filled up with Katrina and Rita folks.
All the people whom they said audtioned in Austin actually got a free trip to San Fransico to sing.

That must have inflated some egos there.

28 made it through from Boston, that's a bit better.

So who thought that li'l nerdly guy had one of the best male voice of all the tryouts?

And who was that he-sister doing the poor Cher impersonation, getting all uppity because Simon suggested she do drag? The truth hurts, girlfriend! Don't be getting all in Simon's face and stuff just because you suck and he's honest.

And tomorrow: HOLLYWOOD!!!

Apparently the Memphis Fraud-twins DID make it to H-Town... one of them was shown in the previews, grouchily lisping "I don't *DO* groups!!" like a big nelly scraggily-bearded drama queen. But will he do group sex--- in prison??? *malicious titter*

(oooooh, these shows bring out all my worst qualities!)

And there was li'l Turkey Cowboy! My Mom and I are rooting for him!

(See, I'm not all evil.)

Oh, yeah-- I **really** liked that girl who was also a basketball player-- she seemed to have a really good head on her shoulders, and I loved how she handled the judges' criticisms (with class). Personally, I thought she already has more stage presence than Carrie Underwood.

DATELINE: HOLLYWOOD!

*Uggh!*

Could the Memphis Fraud-Twins BE more assholey? They thoroughly repulsed me. They should have left with the two conceited guys (the one who danced with Paula during the audition round and the other one I've mentioned previously)

EARLY PREDICTIONS FOR TOP 24 based on tonight's episode:

Girls: Paris; that chick with the long dark hair who sang "I'll never Love This Way Again" near the end; The Pickler girl (they're showing her way too much for me to no think she isn't going to make it); the big girl-- Mandella?-- from Antioch, TN

Guys: The bald guy who wasn't conceited, the guy from Arkansas who sang "If" by Bread, Garrett the crying turkey cowboy; the hot cowboy who had the nads to sing "Hopelessly Devoted to You"; the Joe Cocker-sounding grey-haired guy

Whoo, I'm a little on information overload after watching (the tape of) the show. I have the benefit of getting to watch again, to make some sense of it all. There were some very good performances, though.

Lash, I'm finding myself agreeing with everything you say this season. The creepy fraud-twins were making me sick too. I hope they get their come-uppance next week. A little humiliation (not to mention jail time) would do wonders for their out-of-control bitchy egos. (I liked the 17 year old twins that got sent home better.)

I agree with you about most of the top 24. Paris is a definite and the dark haired girl as well (she's the one from San Francisco, right?) I think Ace will make it as well as the good-looking Frank Sinatra crooner. Kelly Pickler will also make it (but she sounds a bit too much like Carrie Underwood and I don't know if the public will go for a repeat.) The bald guy will be the token rocker, I bet. As for the little crying cowboy, he's such a cute innocent little kid. I bet he gets through just because of that. Lastly, the grey haired guy will make it - and I bet before the show is over, he undergoes a make-over.

See, I agreed with everything. Maybe I should just copy your posts and stick my name on them. wink

How sad that those annoying fraud-twins wasted 2 slots in the final 44 that two others could have had.

Poor Garret the turkey-wrangler is gone. He really wasn't good enough to continue, but I still liked him.

Thank GAWD we will have the top 24 tomorrow, because I could NOT handle another week of this.

Tyra with the black hair was on Making the Band 3 Season 2. She didn't make it far there, either (obviously). She always claimed that it was because she wasn't a dancer. I guess she's not that strong a singer, either.

The "Broke Note Mountain" "movie trailer" was pretty cute. However, it pretty much foreshadowed the fact that they wouldn't make it. I bet the tall guy might have been okay if he had taken it a bit more seriously.

Glad the Fraud Twins won't be in the finals. They are some annoying fellows.

Looking forward to Mandisa's showdown with Simon. I hope it doesn't end with her departure.

Just think...very soon it will be actual competitions that will be voted upon! I'm thinking about voting this year, on those nights I'm actually home to do so.

I wonder how far the fraud twins get before American Idol finds out that they're criminals. I hope it's not to the final 12.

There were a couple of new faces last night who sounded pretty good. I hope we'll get some surprises in the final 12.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST!!!
(Well, except for Ace.)

ALL of the girls are poppin' hotties!!! Almost all of the guys are some goofy lookin' dudes.

Loved this episode! When the prison bars graphic clanged down over the picture of the Felony Twins, I let out a HAR!
