Yep, links to Anwar's gay personal ad on Blackplanet have been making the rounds at the AI board for a while now, and appears to be 100% legit.
Travis.... dreamy perfect-faced hot bodied beautiful-smiley Travis... in the family?!? Well of course! Jillikers, I hope he's down with the swirl!!
Tonight's show.... it was kind of... weird. mainly because it was "70s Dance Classics" night and I hardly knew any of the songs selected. Plus I really really kept thinking, "I wonder what Nadia would have done...?".
Anyhoo, from least to most favorite, keeping in mind all were pretty good...
7. ANWAR. Hmm... wasn't really feeling it much.
6. CARRIE. This song should never be touched by anyone but Donna Summer.
5. CONSTANTINE. Why oh why oh WHY didn't he pick one of the other Bee-Gees songs? He could have super-cheesed it up!!
4. VONZELL. She pulled it off really well I thought!
3. SCOTT. Yes I'm surprised as you are at his high ranking, but it was absolutely my favorite song choice of the night, and not a bad vocal either.
2. BO. The Bice Squad will be partying tonight... hope they don't forget to vote first, though!
1. ANTHONY. Yeppers, Blondie takes the top spot yet again! And again, I'm as surprised as you are. Good song, though I wasn't really familiar with it, I really enjoyed his performance of it!
Hmmm... What song would Nadia have done.... *dreamy speculative sigh*

Well, I broke down and watched it and was underwhelmed, but basically agree with Lash, except that my order would have put Carrie at the bottom, then Scott, then Vonzell. And I would have switched Constantine and Bo's positions. See, practically the same. The most insightful part of Lash's review and the part I echo strongly is "What would Nadia have done?"

Anthony surprised me last night. he seems well suited to those up temp songs.
Scott I DID NOT LIKE.
Constantie---was he going for a John travolta look by way of Rocky Horror Picture show?

It always helps for me to watch this twice before I make my comments. Watched it first with a group of friends, then again at home.
7. ANWAR. So very nasal. Didn't care for it at all.
6. VONZELL. Love her, but that wasn't very good at all. Very screechy.
5. CONSTANTINE. Eeek, the eyeliner! Did he ever get out of that one key? I may have not always liked his performances, but at least he's never been boring. Until last night.
4. ANTHONY. That was the only song I've never heard before. He sang it well, but he's just soooo bland. He looked pretty cute though.
3. CARRIE. That was...weird. She seems to look really good one week/bad the next. The band was overpowering her on the low notes, but she rocked on the high notes. I can't decide if her tackling Pat Benatar and Donna Summer songs is ballsy, or just clueless. I'm leaning towards clueless.
2. BO. He sounded very good. The only reason I'm not putting him #1 is because in my mind, "Vehicle" isn't a dance song.
1. SCOTT. I know, I know. I can't stand him, but LAST NIGHT, he was the best. There was nothing wrong with that performance at all. That's a great song, and he sang it perfectly. That said, I still wish he'd go home tonight!
My prediction for bottom 3: Anwar, Scott, Vonzell. With ANWAR going home.

I like to create my reviews after my first look/listen to the performances, then I go to one of the sites that puts up the mp3's an listen again.
I actually missed Constantine's and Carrie's performances, so I won't rate them, but, from the little recap shots, it sounded like both of them sort of yelled through their songs.
From least favorite to most favorite...
Anthony...He looked like he was desperate to be doing well. Very uncomfortable. I don't know the song, so I felt no attachment to the performance at all.
Bo...it was a very "Bo" performance, which is a good thing. It just wasn't much of a dance song.
Scott...Maybe being in the bottom 3 with Bo and Nadia, then being the "safe" one did something for his confidence. He sounded like he was in control of his voice and the song suited him.
Anwar...I want to like Anwar more than I do. However, he did a fine job on that song, so I'm rating him pretty high.
Vonzell...Even though she did the 90's Whitney Houston version of this song, it went pretty well. She's so cute and the song was so fun, I have to give her my #1 vote.
I, like many of you, kept thinking "What would Nadia have done?" I totally feel her absence from the show. Wah!
Now I'll go listen to the songs again and see if my ratings change.

So, I just listened to Carrie and Constantine's performances. Carrie actually did quite well on that song until that last big, long note. Maybe she should have adjusted that one a bit? Still, I'll be placing her pretty high in my revision.
Constantine... well, I thought he sounded great and that he made this song quite his own, BUT... I could not quit thinking about Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake from SNL, doing the Barry Gibb Talk Show....
"Talking it up.. on the Barry Gibb Talk Show!
Okay, so after I listen to the rest, I'll post a new review....

My revised review, based on listening to the songs again...
Carrie. This isn't her genre. She's been really good on other types of songs.
Anwar. Maybe he should find a song that starts off with a great big note, so he can shake his nerves right away, and get on with things.
Anthony. Same remarks as in my first post. He just seems like a wannabe. I just thought of a song for him....The Final Countdown. Can't you hear it? "We're going to Venus!"
Scott. Good singer good song for him.
Vonzell. She's a Whitney Houston wannabe, but she's good at it and is WAY cute.
Constantine. He's a star. At this point, anything he does becomes his own.
Bo. He's a total individual, totally knows himself and his style. He's confident and doesn't care about being judged. That's cool when it's backed by major talent.

So who has taken the stage for the final time on AI?
Alleged "insiders" at the AI MB claim that the bottom 3 will be/are: Vonzell (10.5% of vote), Anthony (10% of vote) and Scott (4.8% of vote).
If this is true, then Slappey will be taking his final bow. The boy can sing fine but it will be a relief to never have to hear his speaking voice again.

Well, they had 2 out of 3 right... but once again, Slappey was safe! Jeepers H. Festus! Maybe it'll be okay... maybe they won't ask him any questions or interview him any next week...

Never liked who got booted. The person always looked like deer caught in headlights when singing.

What a bunch of crap. I can just see it now - the final 2 -- Carrie and Scott -- the two that make me puke.

After the deer in the headlights comment I expected that. Is Scott threatening to throw phones at everyone if they don't vote for him? I just don't get it.

Actually, I wasn't responding to RTVU2, I was commenting on the voting public. Sorry if it seemed I was commenting on RTVU2's opinion. I would never do that to my esteemed and refined friend.

Thanks Semi. I highly respect your opinion also. And I was trying to be spolier free as i could. However I think Carrie is good when she is relaxed. She really has a sparkle then. Also I was impressed watching her playing the guitar. I expected Bo know how to play buy was surprised to see her play. No surprise that Constaine didn't know to play an instrument.

I admit I enjoyed watching Carrie with the guitar. Best I've liked her since early on this season. Wasn't real wild about the group song though.

I just don't understand why that Scott is even getting voters, let alone still allowed in the contest at all..... Don't they have rules and standards? Doesn't the fact that he was convicted of beating the mother of his then 3-week old child mean anything?? It is wrong that he is taking a spot from someone deserving. When they found out Frenchy had sold photographs of her large breasts to a siate on teh internet they booted her out of the competition. Why does Scott get to stay? His past transgressions are a helluva lot worse then what Frenchy did, in my book anyway......

That would be a nightmare, but the two of them do seem to have large followings. Scary's fans would vote for her if she farted into a paper bag! Scott's large following? His own ass of course!!!

You guys are being a little mean, but I understand... it's elimination night. Wednesdays are always stressful for AI fans.

Caroline, it seems what made the difference for Scott but not other past AI contestants who have been booted for infractions is that he was forthcoming about the details of the incident up front.

Well, perhaps the reason that Scott is always looking skyward and thanking God every time he wins means he had a religious conversion or a big change in his evil ways. If he really and truly goes through life never having domestic violence again then that would be wonderful. I just think about the stress that the then new mother must have been under, her hormones raging, the tiny little baby crying a lot, and then getting beaten by that big guy.
And, I don't know about you guys, but when Ruben and Kimberly were featured guests who sang on the new show 'Life On A Stick' their performances all around (singing and acting) were pathetic. Seeing them used like that was kinda pathetic. Another sad thing is the reports that Paula has been abusing pain medication for supposedly years for an unspecified cheerleading injury. One report said she was asked to stay seated throughout Idol in fear she might fall if she stood up or walked around during the shows. She is too young and vibrant and loving to suffer an abuse problem supposedly so severe. If this is true, I hope she can pull out of it and be happy and successful.

The drugs would explain alot of the behavior she has been exhibiting this season. She is been even more nonsensical then past seasons.

I wish Carrie could show the spark and likability she shows in her interviews (and hello, playing the guitar last night! ) in her actual performances.
I'm sure 'country night' is coming soon. I hope she doesn't do another "new country" song. I'd love to hear her do a Patsy Cline song. In fact, a "Classic Country" night (nothing post 1980?) would be good. Well, for me anyway!
