On second thought, what Clay and Mario do doesn't mean anything to me-- as long as it causes no damage to AI.
Now... Does anyone want to read SPOILERS for TOMORROW NIGHT'S show?
Yep, apparently last week and this week's show were taped in L.A. on Monday night to save time, and the show will go live again next week.
So beware, SPOLIERS FOLLOW!
S + P + O + I + L + E + R + S
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Okay, so it definitely was Billboard # 1 hits night, and the AI board was deleting spoiler posts (apparently made by fans who attended the taping) nearly as quick as they were being posted, but I managed to read a few things...!
1. The judge's favorites were Bo, Carrie and Jessica, with Carrie garnering the most compliments, and she and Jessica being told they are the best vocalists in the competition.
2. Constantine sings a Partridge Family/David Cassidy song. Simon despises it.
3. Bo sings "Time In a Bottle".
4. Nadia bombs, and is told it is her weakest performance to date by the judges.
5. Mikalah and Anthony also bomb, and the judges rip them.
6. Nikko's performance is loved by Randy & Paula, hated by Simon (per ususal, it seems, for Nikko).
That's all I managed to get, and keep in mind it is only AI MB hearsay.
Now that I know the past 2 weeks have been taped (and therefore, EDITED) it might explain some of Nadia and Constantine's perfect little glances at the camera and stuff. So next week's show should be a bit more telling.

Some of those spoilers were spot on. Some were just spotty.
Anyway, it's rare that there's a night where I really really enjoy everybody like I did tonight.
If I haaaad to pick the weakest 3-- and I'd really rather not, it would have to be at gunpoint-- it would be Mikalah, Anwar and Anthony.
I thought Mikki did "Love Will Lead You Back" serious justice, and don't understand why the judges ripped her like that, though I agree there were a couple of iffy seconds. I'd still give it 8.5 of 10. I guess that's not good enough when you have eight other singers getting 9-10 of 10, though...
Anwar did well, but he's no Chaka Khan. Seemed really out of his element.
Anthony also did well, but he had trouble with some of those lower notes.
REALLY don't get the ripping Nadia received for her great cover of "Time After Time"! I loved it. Not so keen on her mohawk, though! I like Nadia's regular hair!!!
Seeing who is in bottom 3 tomorrow should be pretty interesting. I'm not even going to try to guess; they should all get a "buy" this week. A great night all-around.

Okay, posting these as I watch:
Anthony - Didn't care for it. I felt the song really lost a lot being sung solo and he just didn't seem to be up to it.
Carrie - So the girl can do more than country. And she picked a Heart song and nailed it. This put her back to the top of the female performers for me.
Scott - Probably his best performance to my ears but he sound a bit warbly, not quite on key.
Bo - Still the #1 guy to beat but he, like Scott, seemed off key to me.
Nikko - Okay, is it my ears? Another guy whose vocals seemed all over the place. He's not showing the same strength he had when he did Ray Charles.
Vonzell - Great choice of song and great performance. She keeps getting better.
Contantine - Can't wait to Caroline hears this one. Cassiday was one of her favorites growing up. Not quite as good of a performance as last week's but still stronger.
Nadia - Girlfriend is sliding downhill. Did anyone else notice she flubbed the lyrics at the beginning? She is still a great performer but I didn't like this one. To me, with the last two performances, Vonzell has surpassed Nadia. I would have put then neck-and-neck after last week even though I gave Nadia the edge then.
Mikalah - Eh. She is just not the strongest performer, especially vocally. Even if I look past the Nanny Fine/Babs voice she is lacking in something. Maybe she should have been passed over, told to get some more practice.
Anwar - Felt rushed to me. Like he couldn't keep up with the music and just mumbled his way through the lyrics until he reached the chorus.
Jessica - I don't like changes in lyrics. Whether its because they forgot them or just changed them on a whim. Started good but she lost me when she lost the lyrics. Otherwise she gave one of the better performances.

Vu, I guess I could deal with it for ONE night, anyway... it was certainly a surprise. But I think her usual "dandelion" hair is just sOOOOOOO cute...
You can really tell the AI stylists are going to town on these kids!

Hmm. Folks on my AI Yahoogroup are ripping Mikalah's performance. Maybe I "listen with prejudice" because I like the girl? I dunno.
They're also dogging out Jessica for apparently forgetting a lyric and repeating the same one twice. I also noticed that. I wonder if it will affect the voting?

Bo with the straight hair
Carrie with the heart hair
even Anthony had his hair off his forehead!
It was a surprise that Nadia went the mohawk look but she was totally rocking it man!

Ah! I *thought* Nadia might have done the same thing, but wasn't sure if maybe it was done that way because of the strange arrangement of the shortened (and increased-paced chorus of) song.
Hmm. Maybe I better vote for Nadia tonight.

Correct lyrics:
"Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick, and think of you caught up in circles confusion-- is nothing new"
Nadia's lyrics: "Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick, and think of you Always with spiracles, confusion is nothing new."
To me that was a totally noticable flub. But then this is my favorite Cyndi Lauper song and I know it by heart.
And yes, those were her exact words. I have the show on TiVo and was able to rewind and hear it clearly after the rest of the show was finished. She said spiracles, rhymes with miracles. Miracle does not appear anywhere in the song.

Yeep!!! I'd say her flub outflubs Jessica's. I hope she's okay after that-- I put in a vote for her.

I think Jessica's flub had more to do with the way the band was doing the song. It wasn't quite the arrangement that I'm used to on Total Eclipse of the Heart.
I put in nine votes for Carrie (one for each Caroline, mom, myself, our four cats and for Anne and Nancy), five votes for Bo, three votes each for Vonzell and Jessica and one vote for Constantine (still like the boy).

SCOTT!! Check your TIVO! BIIIIG hoo-rah on the AI board about an apparent BIG TIME mistake tonight!
Apparently when they were recapping the numbers to call, they MESSED UP Mikalah, Anwar and Jessica-- who were 09, 10 & 11-- and gave them the numbers 01, 02 and 03!
So if someone was writing down the numbers right then or not really paying attenion, their votes will go to Anthony, Carrie or Scott instead of to whom they intended.
Fans on the AI board are already screaming for a "PASS" for everyone this week and send 2 home next week!

They sure enough did! The gave the right number out with the performances but at the end they gave 1-866-IDOLS-09 for Mikalah but the number underneath (for those who can't dial by letter) they gave 1-866-43657-01. Did the same on Anwar with 10 with the IDOLS but 02 underneath and IDOLS-11 for Jessica with 03 underneath.
I always go by performer # so I got my votes for Jessica right but I can see someone messing them up.

Maybe tomorrow night, if they don't just give them a pass this week, they need to start up the votes again and hold another show on Thursday.

I go by performance order too (I write 'em down so I know the #) but yeah, I can see at least a small percentage of the voters getting messed up, and that is SO not fair to Mikki, Anwar and Jessica.
They should definitely address this in a fair way tomorrow!

Exactly what I said: IMPORTANT PROGRAM NOTE CHANGE Due to an error with the graphics shown on-screen (incorrect voting numbers were displayed) during the performance recap at the end of last night’s AMERICAN IDOL, a live, one-hour show will air tonight, Wednesday, March 23 9/8c on FOX, to enable a re-vote. This new show will combine new live elements with encores of Tuesday’s performances from the remaining 11 contestants.
Phone lines will open at the conclusion of tonight's show and will remain open for two hours to give viewers the chance to vote for their favorite contestants and keep them in the competition. Only the voting results from tonight’s show will determine who received the lowest number of votes and will be sent home this week. Tune in to see who America has chosen to stay and who is sent home on the live results show tomorrow, Thursday, March 24 9/8c live on FOX.
RECAP NEW LIVE SHOW & ENCORE PERFORMANCES THEN RE-VOTE - TONIGHT 9/8c LIVE RESULTS SHOW - TOMORROW 9/8c So remember to vote again tonight!

I didn't get to vote last night 'cause I didn't finish watching it until 10:30.
My BEST TO WORST: 1. CARRIE--woo hoo! that was hot!! that was what she needed to do. it was freaking awesome. 2. JESSICA--it was weird at first, i think because they had to edit that song down to a minute, but she did it really well, and "made it her own" 3. BO--it was a low key performance, but i dug it. i love bo no matter what. 4. VONZELL--she's just so darn cute!!! it wasn't much different from the original, but it was good. 5. SCOTT--he still scares me , but he CAN sing. 6. CONSTANTINE--amazingly, i didnt HATE it, but his musical theatre roots were definitely showing. 7. ANTHONY--he's so bland. but, it was aight. 8. ANWAR--yeesh, that was not good for Anwar. i have that TOP 40 #1's book, and that song never went to #1. maybe on the R&B charts, but I thought this was supposed to be TOP 40 #1 night? 9. NADIA--she was all flash, and no substance. definitely her worst yet. 10. NIKKO--i've never heard that song and i never want to hear it again. 11. MIKHALA--too bad that was Taylor Dayne's only #1, because she COULD do TELL IT TO MY HEART some justice. Poor girl has the POTENTIAL to have a great voice, she just cant control it. Buh bye. Now that I can vote tonight, i'm voting for Jessica. Carrie and Bo are safe, but jess doesn't deserve to be in bottom 3 again. i'd say Mikhala, Nikko and maybe Constantine will be in the bottom 3.

I still love Nadia and Bo. Nadia's just a great performer in my books. I liked her performance (and her hair) a lot. And Bo, doing a Jim Croce song, just won me over totally.
Sorry, I'm still not feeling Carrie. She's just so boring. But then again, I've already made up my mind about her and realize that I'm listening with "prejudiced ears."
Mikhala really has to go. Cute as she is, she can't seem to carry a tune.
Lastly, Simon really is full of shit most of the time. His pomposity is really wearing thin this year.
