YAY Jazmin!
And yay John! As I told my co-workers today-- never underestmate the popularity of mellow music-- Norah Jones' debut sold 7-million plus, after all...
Looks like Ryan Seacrest LIED about ANYone being a wildcard! It WAS just people from the top 32! It isn't the first time a hot guy has lied to me and shattered my world!!! Of them all, I think I'm most excited that whats-her-name, Jennifer?-- from the first 8, who sang "Imagine" is coming back-- I liked her.

I sincerely hope everyone will continue to support my little cousin Diana. She's got a great chance to get pretty far in the final 12, I think!
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.

Diana is still my favorite. No one even comes in as a close second. She'll be getting our vote every week.

WHAT a great show!!!
My top 4 favorites (in order of appearance)
Jon Peter ("pen salesman") -- What an adorable talented dork! I love him!
Fantasia -- Even if she loses, she'll go far.
Jazmin -- Stunningly beautiful & talented!
Diana -- she ROCKS the house and is every bit as talented as Fantasia!

And for the record, I expect (based on performance) either "redhead" John or Leah to go home, with Leah being the higher probability. (John did win the popular vote the night of his round and normally I really like him).

I agree with you Lash. Its either John or Leah going home this week.
I also agree that Diana ROCKED! Perfect choice to end the show with.
The other performers I liked tonight were Fantasia, Jon Peter and George.

Leah is from my area, so I was hoping she'd make it further. Oh well.
This is such an interesting group of contestants. I really like LaToya, Fantasia and George. I really feel it when they perform. However, Jazmin and Diana are great, too. I like redheaded John. I hope he sticks with his personal style. Matt's fun, but I wish he'd tone it down a bit. I don't really care for Amy or Jennifer, not that they're bad or anything, just not that interesting to me. My son thinks JP looks like a Hobbitt! LOL! I can't look at him otherwise, now!

I still can't get over how well 16-year old Diana belted out that Aretha Franklin tune. Damn.

Funniest thing I read tonight: Some monkeyspanker on the AI MB calling sure-to-make-top-5 contestant Fantasia Barrino Fantasia Burrito. (no, he isn't a fan of hers)
John Stevens was TERRIBLE tonight. If he doesn't go after THAT performance, there's a serious problem here.

This is the first season I'm watching AI and I have to wonder, are the only words in Randy's vocabulary "Yo!" and "Dawg!" and "Yo dawg!"?

Randy's a buffoon. He's educated but trying to be "steet" and it looks ridiculous.
As for john Stevens NOT being in the bottom 3 and Amy going instead of him-- something stinks on AI-World.
They need to change the voting system to 1 vote per phone-line or something...

Is John Stevens the Conan O'Brien Jr. look-alike? He hasn't been all that great but neither has that Camille chick.

I never get to see the Wednesday shows! So, Amy got the boot, eh? I'm sticking with my top three: Latoya, Fantasia and George. It doesn't matter to me which order the rest go. However, I'll hope for Diana to be #4 for LegionWorld devotion.
Lash, I used to hang out at the AI mb last year, but there were just too many threads to keep up with. I was overwhelmed. There are a lot of "haters" there, too. Some funny stuff, too. I don't like the current format, really.
I've got this nagging feeling like AI is getting played out. The judges are saying the same things over and over again. Their personas are so established. The singers are a mixed bag, which is a good thing, but we're starting to get repeated songs. Jasmine did a great rendition of You're All I Need, but Kelly Clarkson did that one two years ago, a lot better. I realize that it's probably impossible to prevent repeats of songs, but I'm saying that maybe as this happens more and more, the freshness of the series is ending. All IMO.

Yeah Dean, the AI board is fun to surf but I wouldn't wanna POST there!
We're in SINGLE digits now! Time to get serious! Let's rate tonight's performances from top to bottom!
1. GEORGE. The guy gets better every week. No one else can claim that. He ruled tonight.
2. JENNIFER. Best performance since her first one, "Imagine" weeks ago.
3. LATOYA. Gave me goosebumps.
4. DIANA. Slightly off-key, a first for her. Paula saved her by saying "I know you are sick...". Diana has strep. Hope she gets over it ASAP. Despite all this, she gave 110% and LOOKED incredible. HUBBA!
5. FANTASIA. Frankly, I'm getting tired of her ending EVERY SONG with "yeah yeah yeah" and I think I liked her voice better the first time I heard it on Macy Gray. Still good but not AS good as before.
6. JPL. I disagreed with the judges. I liked his performace of "Rocket Man".
7. CAMILE. I *adore* her; she is by far my favorite of the top 9; she's the Lucinda Williams amongst a bunch of Whitneys, Mariahs and Christinas. But I can't deny that her "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" started off BAD-- though it ended up good.
8. JASMINE. A GREAT start ended up going to pitchy hell. A shame.
9. JOHN S. Painful to watch. I felt sorry for him.
Now, since John S. has given 2 godawful performances in a row, I'd expect him to go home tomorrow... but since he wasn't even bottom 3 last week after he DESTROYED "My Girl"... who KNOWS who will be leaving tomorow?

Sorry, but Camile has got to go. Her performance tonight was the worst. I can't understand why she and Jasmine are still there. Or John. When they said this was the best set of finalists ever someone must have been on drugs. Fantasia, Diana and George. That's the final 3. Latoya and Jennifer are okay too. The rest have got to go. Soon.
And what the hell happened last week? They kicked off Amy? I miss a week and the person who kicked ass in the country competition is gone? I guess it goes to show just how well voting blocks work.

Yep-- Amy was voted out last week after John S. did a HORRIBLE job (again!) and KNEW he should have been gone. But he wasn't even bottom 3; it was a freakin' joke.

What's going against Fantasia: Her voice's similarity to Macy Gray; her perceived lack of class and her perceived "attitude".
What's going against Diana: It is painfully obvious that Simon flat-out just doesn't like her, which I think sucks.
What's going against Jennifer: She's already been in the bottom 3 TWICE- America just doens't seem to like her.
What's going against JPL: I like the guy, but he DOES need some lessons.
What's going against Camile: Rough-to-angelic pitches (I personally like it) are disliked by bulk of online AI fans; liklihood that most of Hawaii might switch votes to Jasmine.
What's going against John S.: He sucks big fat donkey ass. So I can see the final 3 being Latoya, George and Jasmine.
It's still early.

(to be fair)
What's going against George: Online AI fans consider him "goofy", "childlike" and then the question of his sexuality has come up...
What's going against Jasmine: 2 recent pitchy performances (Country night & tonight) and the possibility that Hawaii could switch votes to the hipper Camile.
What's going against Latoya: Vote-split among the 4 femme soul singers; Latoya has been in the bottom 3 once already

Well, I almost agree with the results tonight. Though how red-head was safe again I'll never figure out.
If this was about personalities like Seacrest kept spouting then why has Diana been in the bottom 3 twice and not John? He has all the personality of a dead mouse. He must be getting the over 70 vote.

I'm not too sad about Camile; it really was her time and she has NOTHING to be ashamed of.
And Scott; a theory on the AI boards thinks that John S, JPL and Fantasia were the TOP 3 votegetters (which group was top 3 and which was mid-3 was never actually revealed). SCARY, huh?

I don't like the way George does that bobble head/bouncing thing and JPLs creepy attempt at dancing makes me wish a large light fixture would fall from the ceiling and temporarily immobilize his dancin' legs. I'm surprised that other Hawaiian girl Jasmine is doing so badly. Does it cost anything to call those numbers and vote?
