This comic feels so bad to me that I simply don't know what to do with it. I think DC has dropped the ball completely with the new Supergirl. Nothing they've done with her so far has justified her creation.

And I could easily be convinced otherwise if they could just give me *something good*.

According to July solicits:

" Superstar writer Joe Kelly concludes his SUPERGIRL run with a grueling fight between Supergirl and Superman! "

Anyone heard who the new writer is?

I haven't, but thank goodness Kelly is leaving. The book has been awful!!!

Sean McKeever would be a good choice from their high profile writers. If you've read Spiderman loves Mary Jane you'll know the appeal. If they're serious about making a comic that appeals to female readers they could do worse.

They've already given him BoP (Gail seems to like himso we will see) but I am really hoping they give supergirl to a woman writer. she has to be enjoyable for girls without heading into Sweat Valley High territory

I mean I loved Mystique but I am not a fan of SMLMJ

This has been a disaster from the start. Can't wait for anyone, hell anything, that can make a good Supergirl comic.

I like the idea of Mckeever.

Saturn Queen's outfit rocks. I love the shoulderpads. Although I do miss the beehive-looking 'do she used to have that looked like devil horns.

I haven't read the book, so the rest of my opinions would be equally superficial, and also completely made up!

Oooooooooo! Another Supergirl! Another multiverse sighting is my guess! Looks like the one that shows up at the end of the issue is from LOSH. I'm so confused, but it makes hope that things will get better....

The Pulse has an interview up with Tony Bedard about his upcoming stint on Supergirl beginning in August. There's lots of conceptual art by the artist for Bedard's story arc, Renato Guedes-- this guy is promising! He draws Kara like a "real" young woman, his stuff reminds me alot of Tony Harris (edit-- as TB mentions in his interview... D'OH!)). So glad to see something besides the Mike Turner/Ian Churchill school of fanboy dreamgirl. but I think Tony B dropped a Legion-related bombshell in his interview-

Well, I was all set to drop SUPERGIRL after that horrid issue 17 until the last page's surprise appearance.

TB's only on Supergirl for three issues.

DC is getting their moneys worth with Tony. I think he is writing every other title.

I was so happy when they brought back Kara Zor-El, but they have well and truly FUBARed this title. I HATE that Phantoms-from-the-Zone nass! I was hoping it would turn out to be some kind of mindsprock Darkseid had implanted, but no such luck. If Bedard can salvage this unholy mess, he's smarter than Brainiac 5!

Also, I never thought as a red-blooded male I'd say this, but could they please put some clothes on that poor girl? The outfit is ridiculous!

I'm thinking not only is SG off my pull but so is the Titans.

I dropped TT back with #37... only got the recent issue because Chris B. did the art. I wasn't feeling the story OYL.

I was thinking about trying the (double) Karate Kid issue slated for fall, but let it be - reading your comments, that might have been the best.

Titans is off my pull list since the horrible Titans West storyline. Most storylines have been mediocre as well -> DC won't change anything until you just don't buy it any longer (and as long many people do so).

I really liked the TITANS OYL (Kid Devil rawks and Miss Martian is the character find of 2007), but agree the tales went downhill with the exit of Johns. I think It's going to get really good though with the upcoming # 50.

This run of SUPERGIRL, however, has been dreadful. I'm dropping it also.

It's a shame Tony B and Renato are only on board for three issues; even more so that their first issue is a tie-in with Amazons Attack!.

That said, I really enjoyed #20, more so than any of Kara's appearances since she was reintroduced in Superman/Batman#8. She wasn't the whining, emaciated mess we've seen everywhere outside her run with the Legion. This issue -almost- made me care about AA!. :rolleyes:

If these two were staying with the title, I'd be a regular reader.

No comments on Karate Kid and Una in issue #21 yet?

The art, Supergirl grasping for memories of her time with the Legion, and regretting the damage she has done to her relationship with Superman made it feel a lot like the Action annual a few months back. No complaints with the Bedard script. It was nice to see Kara going to Kents for support. I haven't been following Countdown, so this was really my first exposure to Una. I kind of like the way she is portrayed. A bit brash and reckless, but courageous and not afraid of a fight. Will we get some solid answers next issue or is more of the drip, drip, drip?
