If Saturn Queen made it through, were are Lightning Lord and Cosmic King? And for that matter, the rest of the Earth-3 Crime Syndicate?

Must say I was very relieved to see that the Kal'El in Kandor was actually Ultrman and not Mon. And I also caught the point regarding the Phantom Zone. I'm hoping this is how Mon will be reintroduced into the DCU and that it will be very soon.

I kinda like that Saturn Queen (and Ultraman) are over in Supergirl. I think it'd be cool to see this Saturn Queen as a recurring Supergirl villain.

Hate to say it, but more has happened actionwise in Supergirl 7 & 8 than in the last year of the (SG&)LSH title.

That may be true, but I find Supergirl's own series unreadable and the art...undesirable.

I'd rather read and look at Kara in the Legion.

If you call near incest action than its the title for you. I can't stand the Kara in her own book and would like to see a decent explanation of the change between her Legion appearance and OYL in her own title. It is almost off-putting. And, like Gary said, the art in her solo title leaves much to be desired.

I'll probably only keep picking up the solo series as long as she's with the Legion. After that it gets pulled off my list.

I think we might be in for a change regarding Kara's own title. It suffered first from Loeb's 'round the DCU we go' story, and now has suffered from a sudden shift in writer from Rucka to Kelly. I hope Joe Kelly can pick up some steam (though I have not really *loved* his previous work, but will give him a chance). The art is pretty good, but a little cluttered.

I think we are close to a basic timeline for Kara:

- Supergirl #1-6
- Infinite Crisis
- Following IC, she's sent to the 31st Century (most likely)
- She appears in LoSH while 52 is running
- At some point she will reappear in the DCU during 52, at which point she will exit the 31st Century. (It remains to be seen if she will be able to travel back).
- She appears in Metropolis during the OYL Superman story "Up, up and away".
- The current Supergirl arc with Powergirl in Kandor.

At least, that's how I'm figuring it. What will be interesting is if she can return to the future following her return to the DCU in 52.

FYI, I've combined the two running Supergirl threads into one so we'll have just one thread for the series. We can just update the title for the new issue as we do in Dr. Gym'll's.

I'm wondering if we'll get some kind of "split" Supergirl tale. The "good natured and largely innefectual" Kara being tossed into the future and the "angry and powerful but lacks control" Supergirl somehow being in Kandor. That's what I'm expecting. I'll be disappointed if the writers take the easy way out though.

The exciting part of this whole mess seems to be the news about Saturn Queen (to us LSH fans anyway) and Ultraman (for Syndicate fans like me). I'm pleased to know that there's a possibility that the LSV may have survived the Crisis and that the Syndicate could be around again someday for a new story or two.

Good to know that some of my favorite villians may yet show up again to do some damage and sell a few comic books sometime in the future.

-btw-
I apologize for not adding a +spoilers+ tag to my last post. I guess I should have since I gave away the identity of Ultrathug.

That's okay Art. Especially since there is a spoiler tag in the thread title. As long as it is there then it is a reader beware thread.

I have to say i havent enjoyed this series at all. This last storyline seems like it was plotted by Loeb and handed off to the editor as he left for Marvel.

Then Rucka scripted an issue etc. etc.

I find that to be the biggest problem with the Supergirl series so far. After the introductory arc in Superman/Batman and 8 issues of her own series, we still don't know who she really is. Instead of story and explanations we get action.
I am a big Supergirl fan and will continue to pick it the book but I am enjoying it far less than the Legion.

I don't think the Supergirl title is up to One Year Later yet.

Just to clarify, that scene did nothing for me, and I consider it the low point in the story - even though it has precedent in the old Supergirl finding a wife for Superman story.

As far as Supergirl goes, the storyline is still unexplained and ongoing, but that's no different from the current Legion. The difference in the two titles is the action scenes in Supergirl are actual, not off-panel or flashback, and much more frequent. A better value, IMO.

9 is out.

The choppy narrative continues. PG and SG are back on Earth. PG calls Kara a quitter, and also deduces what Saturn Queen told Kara as a quid pro quo.

So Kara goes and hits Bruce up for money and Wondergirl moves in with her. Oh and her boyfriend is <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Captain Boomerang Jr.</span></span>

I'm really disliking this bratty self-indulgent Supergirl. Overall though I think the writing's getting on track by the end of this issue.

Yeah but this choppy writing is driving me crazy. All we get is a quick flashback scene to polish off the last two issues and no resolution at all for the "House of El" in Kandor story.

Gad, I hope Power Girl has enough sense to tell Kal that Ultra Man is in Kandor screwing things up...and that there's a supervillian from the future manipulating minds and destroying the bottle city from the inside out.

I thought I'd missed an issue when I picked this up yesterday. Is this how this title is going to be forever? Stories with no beginning and no ending, just event driven...umm...events? If this keeps up I'll finish off buying the first year of the run then drop it and never look back.

Because of the Saturn Queen appearance I have picked up the last couple of issues of this and so help me god, I have absolutely no idea what is going on. For example how is someone like me (a casual reader) supposed to know who is who, and why the heroine is going out with a criminal?

But I am starting to think that this episodic and confusing arc is deliberate. In some ways it reminds me of a vivid but disjointed dream and that got me to thinking that this may or may not tie into the Legions Kara thinking her time in the future is a dream. Do you think there is a connection?

That may be the only explaination I'd buy after reading through Supergirl's solo title. I'm surprized when people perfer it to the Legion title.

To top it all off we had a Supergirl appearance in the first Superman OYL story where she was mature and responsible, answering the emergency signal watch.

So we have a ditz in the future, a brat in Supergirl and Clark's emergency weapon in SUperman.

The latest issue was crap. Then again, I am no big Joe Kelly fan... in my book he ranks right up there with Tom McCraw and Tom Peyer.

Kara smoking and on a date with Boomerang? Please!

I did like the Saturn Queen crossover the in Kandor story, but other than that, I'm finding fewer and fewer reasons to buy this book. frown

What is happening with this book? It jumps all over the place. Just read the latest issue, and they introduce the all new Terra. This character seems to know Kara, and is surprised by her attitude. I'm thinking she maybe from the future. Maybe a new Legionnaire that we have not met yet? The whole Supergirl thing is just so confusing. Like she is two different people. Supergirl is such a great character, I hate to give up on the book, but it's getting close...

I sure hope you are being sarcastic. When I finished this issue I almost cried at how bad it was. I want to throw it in the shredder and pretend it never existed... how can sweat little Kara be a <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">crazy mass murderer</span></span> I was happier when I thought it was <span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Darkseid.</span></span> Oh well.

Like I have said before. If you really want to appeal to young women you may want a writer who has been a young woman.
