When I see covers like that, I really question why I'm buying comics - it must be for the interviews like the old Playboy justification. You've really got to wonder about the story content when you see a cover like that.

I thought anatomic impossibilities went out with Liefield...who's back now, so I guess all bets are off. It looks like something a twelve year old would draw.

"Corey291" posted Photoshopped a version on a Newsaram thread about the cover that at least corrected for actual human skeletal anatomy. It looks better, but the whole thing's still pretty ridiculous, though. I might fork over extra for the alternate cover just so I won't have to blush when buying this from my comic-shop lady.

I can't stand women with overly large, prominently displayed breasts. It's just so... common.

I have to wonder: now that Power Girl is the Chairperson of the JSA, will she use a gavel to call meetings to order, or just drop her chest on the tabletop?

i don't understand the fascination everyone has with Turner from an artistic point of view his Female anatonmy is not that much to make a big deal about and i agree with wndola1 he draws the sambe basic gril over and over.
that cover reminds me of a drawing i had done of
Dawnstar back in Jr. HighSchool and i had taken a Quarter traced around it and made them her breast. now i'm saying that because from a horny 14 year old breast that big would look right but for a supposedly "mature" professional artist that's not anatomically correct. how do guys like these still manage to get work?

Did you take a look at Karate Kid's neck on the cover of JLA #8? He looks anorexic.

I really don't get the appeal of Turner. The scray thing is apparently they actually made him reduce PGs cleavage once already and that was the final result.

And on a similar vein, has anyone noticed quite how.... excited Citizen Steel seems to be with his new costume on this JSA cover?



I am a very bad man for pointing this out (although I only noticed it after it was pointed out to me). Why no-one at DC noticed it though is anyone's guess. Maybe it's to make up for the overtly sexual covers of female characters. Or it could be entirely innocent, a trick of the light the way Ross has painted it and nothing rude at all...

At this rate, we won't be able to post any covers if we want to keep this an "all ages" forum.

Don't forget the Cyclone cover from JSA 3 (I think), where it didn't look like she was wearing any underwear...

Super-powerful and from next door definately sounds like me. I just hope Michael Turner doesn't draw me anytime soon! Skirt wearing heroines don't need to be oogled at every opportunity, ya know.

Is there an alertnate cover to that issue? I honestly don't think I can bring it into the house with that cover. My wife will never let me hear the end of it. I mean, I like a nice rack as much as the next guy, and Power Girl's assets have always been a part of her appeal, but this is ridiculous.

Given that I'm only really buying this storyline for the Legion appearance, and really not that impressed with what's going on inside, I think it's enough to prevent me from buying the issue.
