It was a very good first issue. I'm glad it's not in the main Justice League title (although I wish something better than what we currently have there).
I have a soft spot for Ralph and Sue...

Matthew. Absolutely. The series went downhill fast after the crew left last time.

A quick trip to the DC board reveals the title for next year's sequel to FKATJL (which apparently has been confirmed by Giffen himself):
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT THE JUSTICE LEAGUE!
too FUNNY...!

Oh, and it appears that GUY GARDNER will be returning for ICBINTJL. (tptb wouldn't let Giffen use him for the current mini)
Apparently FKAJL is *such* a hit, some of Keith's former clout is returning....

Good-- he needed SOMEthing to undo the damage of Suicide Squad and Dominion ...! Maybe they'll have Buggy join! EVERY team needs a teleporter!

When Giffen first worked on JL, after Legends, I liked it for the first year or so, but then the humor got old for me, especially once JLAers that gave the team credibility (Black Canary, Captain Marvel and Batman, mostly) left, I really began to miss the old League. It seemed to me that the humor began to overshadow the stories, to the point where I had trouble enjoying the story.
So I'm all for letting Giffen take another stab at it, since it's not the main book (even though I am not enjoying JLA right now). I think this type of book works best as an offshoot of the main book, rather than as the main book.

too FUNNY...! Yep. Last I heard, they weren't sure that title would get past their Legal Dept., but that's what they want to call it.

I'm so onboard with a sequel. Great book. And, to me, another mini is the best way to go. It would be like overeating on your favorite food and not wanting to touch it again if this was the regular series.

It's not easy to get the right mix of humor and heroics in a comic. Keeping it to miniseries will help keep it fresh.

I just saw a preview of the first four pages of FKATJL #2 (there's a link to it from the DC boards), and it is ROTFLMAO funny! Who knew Ralph and Sue Dibney had such a typical husband-wife relationship?!

I also enjoyed Welcome to the Working Week for its not one, but TWO references to the much-missed Doom Patrol! (tho' both were kind of deprecating... )

I enjoyed the JLA one-shot, but a word of warning: it's kind of pricey, and Ambush Bug and Heckler only appear on one page.
I just got FKATJL #2 and LOVED it! This is really shaping up to be one of the funniest limited runs ever -- plus, the art is spot-on. My only quibble would be that Mary Marvel is characterized as a bit overly saccharine, but I suppose that's primarily for purposes of the book's humor...

I'm actually a little disppointed they got Capt Atom's colors wrong -- the red, silver and blue is so much more of an iconic color scheme than just the red and silver.
I didn't think this issue was all that funny to be honest. They certainly have a particular rhythm that they like to stick to and while they certainly have the same flavor of the old stories, it only makes me think I've read it before with a different variation. I mean, once they set up the premise of the joke, they tend to repeat it over and over which can be fine, but I think once you're already accustomed to their rhythms, it's not as surprising and thus, less funny.

wow, Drakey, we totally disagree!
I though # 2 was side-splittingly funny... Every page was hilarious to me... MUCH more so than # 1... I was right, all Bwa-ha-ha DID break loose this issue!
Loved:
1) The gay movers
2) Bea and Sue's Numbers System
3) The neighboorhood gang-- this had me in utter stitches and was my favorite gag of the issue
4) Mary Marvel
5) L-Ron
Damn, it was ALL good!!!! From first to last, it tickled me!
And thank goodness, Bea was looking much better this issue....

I loved all the things Lash mentions above, but just having Mary Marvel around and slapping the crap out of a big baddie with one hand would be enough for me to keep looking forward eagerly to the next issue... It's always nice to be reminded (as one of the penultimate issues of Supergirl did) that Mary is right up there on the same level, powerwise, as Superman, Wonder Woman, and the DCU's other heaviest hitters... Tho' I WAS wondering how everyone knew she was "only 16." I mean, her "civilian identity" is only 16, but hardly anyone knows that Billy is Captain Marvel, so I'm assuming people also don't know that Mary is Mary Marvel. Does her superhero persona clearly look 16? Because I thought she was supposed to look more adult in her Marvel form...
