So apparently, that cover gave him tendonitis and put his arm in a brace, delaying the publication of #4 -- talk about suffering for your art...

Certainly hasn't stopped the guy - he's still doing the conventions and now he's got that long-shelved Titans graphic novel back on track.

the best George ever done IMO was the Crisis...whoa!!! I got a Crisis poster with his collobaration with Alex Ross...beautiful!!!!! I gazed, ogled, stared, mesmerized, etc etc...felt like I m being hypnotized into looking at the poster..then finally it had to put down and rolled into a canister.

My bet is Major Disaster in his current costume...if they have Faith and Manitou Raven there...and too many Iron Men, Wonder Women, etc...so why not put second Major Disaster? same thing with Ms. Marvel and Warbird. Antaeus is missing too right? Civet? Seneca? Osiris? where on the cover?

Man, George Perez is really something... But it seems as if Bloodwynd appeared twice on the link Crusader posted. BTw, thanks for all the links. I still have to wipe up all the drool on my keyboard...

Thunderstrike), Diana (a.k.a. Wonder Woman), Bloodwynd II (J'Onn) and Invisible Woman. And they're in multiple times if they were in under multiple names, as with the four or five Hank Pyms, or if there were multiple people in the costume (in terms of Iron Men, there's Tony (HReturn armour), Rhodey (as both Iron Man II AND War Machine) and Teen Tony.)

Hi everyone! My local comic shop has JLA/Avengers 1-4, mint condition of course, going for what would be 35 US dollars, 18.5 British pounds and 27 euros (and also 3 weeks of my allowance!) So, for those who have these, do you think the story (and art, but especially the story) was worth spending that much on? I already have that much saved up, but I wanna get your opinions before spending that much on them Thanks in advance!

Personally, no. The art is OK, but I'm not a Perez fan, and the story is a bit meh imho. It's an OK read and there's an awful lot of detail in the art but unless you're a huge JLA or Avengers fan I don't think you're really missing anything. If there'sa trade version out (which I would be surprised if there isn't but I've not seen one) you'd probably be better getting that if you really want the issues but I wouldn't bother forking out that much for it in it's original format.

As Bevis said the art is okay but the story really isn't that great. I had more fun trying to identify all the Avengers or Leaguers that appear in the background in the dinner/group scenes. They crammed lots of them in there.
So, no, I probably wouldn't spend the $35 unless you really, really, really need to have it.

Yeah, playing 'spot the Avenger/JLAer' was the most fun thing, and seeing how many different costumes Wasp had, but that wouldn't really be enough to make it worth paying huge amounts of money for.

I'd pass.
Busiek set up a very interesting conflict between the two teams by focusing on the differences of their respective worlds: JLA's earth is described as an ideal earth where the heroes are very effective but exert undue influence over ordinary people, while the Avengers' earth is a fallen world in which the heroes try their best but just aren't as effective as the JLA. Both teams think they are doing the right thing by "liberating" the other earth from its respective heroes.
However, the story gets bogged down by the appearances of every incarnation of every hero who ever joined both teams. It's the kind of "fan" thing that's done to see how much trivia can be squeezed in, regardless of whether or not it's important to the story.
Perez's art is Perez's art. He's one of the few artists who can cram a million things into a panel and make it easy for the reader to follow. But I'd give up all that for a meaningful story.

No! I agree with all the comments above. It is fun to see Perez do both teams but the story fell flat.

Put me on the side of the nay's. At least not for $35. The premise was a good one and there were a few F### Yeah! moments but it was crammed into too small of a series to be really effective, IMO.

Although I enjoyed JLAvengers, I would have to agree that $35 is more than I would be willing to pay, although I think the individual issues added up to $20, and I bought 2 copies of each... Oh well.
