Any time I've seen them, they're separate from the "regular" covered issues, bagged, and priced ridiculously high ... is that the way is usually is? Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

I mean, Bat-Girl was on the cover! No, not that Batgirl. Or her either. OR her. Bette Kane!!). It was bagged so the higher price could be stuck to it. I never by Variant Covers unless they're so beautiful I can't not have it (can't remember the last time that happened). When I was a kid my Dad bought all the variants for X-Men #1 and afterwards was so annoyed with himself for doing it, he never bought a variant cover again; so a lot of that has stuck with me. I know some companies, like Top Cow and Boom!, almost always have variants. Its likely just instituionalized there at this point.

Only reason I bought that was because the regular version was not available, and it was only $1 more than what the regular issue would have been. Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.
