So, I totally missed out on this series and now with, maybe, the same team poised to take over the reins I was wondering if it was worth tracking down to read.

Anyone read it and have opinions? Or is there something more recent the due has worked on with a sci-fi/team theme?

Well, given that the mini hasn't even finished yet, you're goign to struggle to find anything more recent the two have worked on smile

And, while I haven't been reading it, I'm 99.9% sure there's a trade due of 0-6 soon, to save you the trouble of tracking it down.

My views are my own and do not reflect those of everyone else... and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Not done yet? Hmm. I thought I had read someone mentioning it was over. Maybe they meant Waid/Kitson had finished working on it.

Anyway, I hope you are right about the trade. Especially since, as I understand it, the first two issues were originally published by someone other than DC.

[edit note]

Looks like the final issue, # 6, comes out on Caroline's birthday, New Year's Eve. At least that's the schedule DC shows.

I believe the first two issues published by the other company were collected in "Empire #0" published by DC. And I recall mention of a trade somewhere as well.

Empire is about a villain who has actually taken over the world and about the people with whom he surrounds himself. There are dirty secrets galore, everyone has something to hide.

I really, really like this series, and, in fact, the last issue, #5, managed to surprise me more than any comic in recent memory. I just sat there kind of stunned; the story went somewhere I really didn't expect it to go.

I read it the first time around (well, the 2 or 3 issues that emerged), as I love both Waid's text and Kitson's slick pencils.

But... kinda lost track of it during the relaunch. It was good, but the enforced hiatus blew my enthusiasm for it.

Maybe the trade?

(Although based on S.O.Rokk's semi-review, it might be worth tracking down the last few issues. Were the Gorilla issues the same as the DC ones?)

I'll add another recommendation for Empire. It's been well worth my time and money. I've read rumors that Waid & Kitson may do a sequel when their schedules coincide again (which may explain why issue # 5 felt, to me, like it was at least three issues from the end of the story ... don't know how much they're planning on cramming into #6 ).

I have the original Image/Gorilla issues, and was very happy when another publisher picked it up; if Kesel & Grummett's Section Zero can find a new home, I'll be ecstatic!
