Well, I thought the recent Realm of Kings / Sphinx story was a nice change of pace and story "off to the side" for Nova. While I can see some readers wanting more Nova interaction with the rest of the Realm of Kings goings-on, I kind of enjoyed the fact that he had his own distinct story.
The Sphinx is a classic Nova villain but I've never read much classic Nova. I found him to be kind of the typical "super-powerful bad guy" and I'm not really a fan of magic-use in DnA's titles. That being said, I actually liked the general plotline of the story and Nova's interaction with the gathered heroes & villains. DnA have such a knack for assembled groups of protagonists and it really shows here. Mr. Fantastic really clicked with Nova! It makes me think a DnA / Pelletier Fantastic Four series could potentially be the best FF since Byrne.
As I said before, I'm loving DnA's continued usage of Darkhawk and I like the friendship between him and Nova. Considering the development's in the Imperial Guard miniseries, I think Nova has a budding confrontation with them on the way over Darkhawk.
The Namorita stuff was pretty good too but I'm more interested in whatever storyline DnA have planned for that. I don't expect her to be back full-time, and under other writers I might be skeptical, but DnA haven't let me down yet.
Great little story. I definitely want to get things "back to business" but this was a welcome change of pace.
