I'll definately be getting this. Nova has been awesome in Annhilation, I've always loved the character and DnA do better IMOwhen they focus on one main character with cool sci-fi supporting cast.
I wonder who the artist will be?
I hope Marvel is behind this and we might actually get an honest to gosh long run on a Nova title...

I'll certainly pick this up as I'm a big fan of the character though I'd prefer to see him on earth. The premise reminds me too much of Kyle Rayner, but of course it can go anywhere. I hope he goes back to the classic look though - that new costume bothers me to no end.

The outfit looks good on the cover, but it feels like it was created by someone who painted him first. That outfit doesn't look nearly as good in the interiors. I like Sean Chen, but the way he draws the helmet bothers me (honestly, 75% of how all artists draw that helmet bother me -- it's not the most practical design)

New interview up here This still looks really, really good. Can't wait to pick this up, especially with other Annhilation characters showing up in the first year. I think this will be perfect for DnA.

How many times has Xandar been destroyed?
I remember Nebula wiped it out with Thanos' Sanctuary II death ship. (loved that story arc in Avengers)
Well then in Annhilation it's back for a few pages and then wiped out again.
I'm glad Rich got a power up. I hope to see him team up with Firelord who is from Xandar.

Nova #3 cover: http://www.newsarama.com/NYCC/2007/Marvel/NOVA_3.jpg Kind of inevitable really that, if they want to deal with Nova's feelings about Earth before moving back out into space, they had to do it...

Art's not bad, but I'm still not thrilled with the new outfit -- especially not when it looks like he's wearing steer horns on his chest.
I hope they don't try too hard to make him such a bad-ass - I don't think we need Nova to be "Space Wolverine"

Right. Nova (volume 4) #1.
I think this issue really wanted to be double-sized. A couple of nice action sequences, and they're certainly needed in a sense to show (a) how powerful Nova's become and (b) just how ragged he's running himself, but the issue spends most of it's time establishing these things and the Worldmind. Of course, the corollary to this is that if it DIDN'T spend the time setting these things up, the decision to take some time off and head back to Earth wouldn't carry the same weight. Ergo "really wanted to be double-sized" - if the confrontation with Iron Fuhrer had been the second half of THIS issue, it would probably have helped.
Art's solid but not spectacular - par for Sean Chen.
B, and we'll see how it adds up with the Iron Fuhrer/Thunderbolts/SpeedPenance two-parter and the Annihilation sequel issues.

I liked the writing more than the art. I thought they were successful in showing how Rich is running himself ragged and how he's doing anything to keep himself from really facing the emotional baggage he's got stored up. He's a man feuled by rage, sadness and responsibility.
The art doesn't really do anything for me. I'm not a fan of how Chen is interpreting the outfit and the energy pouring out of his "chest holes". I do like the fact that he seems like a raging inferno rather than a streak of light. It indicates his raw power and his emotional turmoil.
I'm a fan of the character, so I'll definitely see where this goes. And while I'm not crazy about the art, it's not enough to make me stop buying the book since I like how they're handling the story and Rich as a person.
Btw, the Spaceknight reference here (as well as in "Annihilation") really makes me want to see them again! I hope Nova drops by Galador sometime.

I enjoyed it. He's not as "hard" as Giffen seemed to write him. Which is good IMO. Don't care for all the corps talk. Hope he kicks the heck out of Iron Man and Speedball/Penance.

So, I've never read Nova before. In fact, I'm basically completely unfamiliar with the character. Didn't see him in New Warriors. Haven't read Annihilation. Don't know anything about anything about anything to do with Nova. But, hey, I'm always one to give something a shot when it gets a new #1. So, off I went with Nova. And I have to say-- I really like what I've seen so far. The character is interesting. His job (especially compared with DC's Green Lantern books) is interesting. In fact, it reminds me a bit of Kyle but with less of that rookie/I don't know what I'm doing even though I've been doing it for ten years and now I'm starting to look like a dumbass feel to it. And I really like that. I like that he has power and personality. I like that he knows what he's doing but is still flawed. I like that he put Civil War vs. Annihilation into a cosmic perspective because, even though Civil War was far more popular, it's really a much smaller scale in terms of how important it should be in the MU outside of the US. (I did a horrible job explaining myself here but, hopefully, the message gets through.) That really struck me. So, hats off to DnA-- I like what they're doing, and I hope they continue on this path. I'll definitely be picking this one up from now on...

I liked #2. Not a big fan of the art but ohwell. His dad is still on his tail even though he's matured.
I don't think he cares if Iron Man or the T-Bolts try him. Nova vs. the T-Bolts is a good fight. I hope he beats them silly!!!

I've enjoyed this so far too. I just read Anihilation in one sitting a few weeks ago.
I have fond memories of the old NW series, so Tony in issue 2 kind of irritated me. When is the Hulk going to pop Tony's head like the tab on a can of Pepsi?

Okay, I just read Nova #2, and I have to say that Nova is already shaping up to be one of Marvel’s best comic books. DnA do an excellent job giving us the long-awaited return of Nova to the post-Civil War Marvel U, and make sure that we get a real sense of what’s going on with Nova as he reacts to what’s happened to the New Warriors and the people of Earth in general.
DnA also are able to give us a glimpse of the Marvel U in a very good and logical way that captures the exciting feeling of the Post-CWMU much better than Bendis & co. have been able to do. Iron Man is reasonable but there is a blurriness to how manipulative he’s being. Justice is passionate about where he stands these days, being on of the registered heroes that actually have made sense of the world. While the cops at the end, given their brief role, are more stereotypical of regular people in the MU, I think DnA do a great job of showing Richard’s father and his reasonable reaction to super-heroes given what happened in Stamford and then the war itself. Even better, they convey the genuine sense of horror and awe that one feels towards ‘science fiction’ related things, as Richard’s father reacts to seeing Richard as the Worldmind is controlling him.
DnA are usually criticized for their character moments, or lack thereof (from what I’ve seen), but this issue was pretty much all character, which was nice from them. We know full well that they shine with big sci-fi themes and moments and wide-screen drama, and there’s no doubt that more will be on the way so this was nice. The interaction b/t Nova and Worldmind is continues to be surprisingly fun.
The art remains great, and I’m looking forward to the Thunderbolts and Speedball/Penance.
