You forgot Marvel Zombies #3. Actually what I'm really looking forward too, almost as much as Hex, is the new Showcase. House of Mystery this month. Can't wait!

My first exposure to FR: SoaG was a strip in the bakc of (iirc) EXILES; I noticed the Calvin similarities right away and loved the strip.
Unfortunately, it was too late to get the collected edition at my CBS, but I'll e-mail them and try to get them to pull this one for me!

It went out with today's mail. And did you end up getting Everybody Loves Franklin? I got my DCBS shipment today, and it was one of the first books I read. I was roaring throughout! The first story, "Christmas Time Warp", seemed to lift alot from Calvin & Hobbes --we even get a dinosaur! --but was nevertheless alot of fun. Lots of little moments. My favorite skit was "Frankie My Dear...", guest-starring Katie Power in Sally Brown-loves-Linus mode. Quite appropriate for Valentine's. I really hope Marvel finds a way to continue these!

I loved it. I hope they continue but I really don't think they should make it a regular monthly. I like the idea of publishing one strip/story in selected titles occasionally then collecting them with new material maybe three or four times a year.

Yeah, that'd be great-- run four page strips in the back of the Marvel Age books every month or so, then collect them with a new story, the way they did the first one.
Were any of the stories in ELF printed prior to this special? I don't normally check out the MA or Power Pack books...

This was done the same way. "Christmas Time Warp" was originally published in X-Men #181 and "My Dinner with Doom(bots)" was published first in FF #534. Both "Frankie, My Dear" and "Now You See Me..." where originals for this collection.

I think it's cool that they're running these in standard MU titles like that. Good exposure-- just running them in the back of Power PAck or the MA titles would be "preaching to the choir", I guess. Nice move by Marvel.

I just have to add that H.E.R.B.I.E. is a perfect foil for Franklin. He was one of the main things I disliked about the old FF cartoons but he works perfectly in these short stories.

You loved his first two smash-hit one-shots! The art looks to be a bit, more than a bit, of a Calvin rip-off.

The art, stories and Franklin/H.E.R.B.I.E. relationship are definite Calvin & Hobbes rip-o-- errr, homages.
The first 2 one-shots were great fun (big hugs to Povvins!!) and I can't wait for this one!!

I love the homages. If we can't have the real thing, this is the next best. To me, the best title Marvel puts out, bar none.

There's a Franklin back-up story in the X-Men/Runaways FCBD issue: Comic Book Free-For-All!. Looks like it might be all-new. Without spoiling, Sue tries to get Frank to read... with amusing results.

CBR has an article, with some preview pages of the Super Summer Spectacular, about the Eisner Award nominated Franklin Richards. At least there is one title out there that makes me feel like a kid. A great feeling with all the death and destruction in 52/Civil War going on.

The Pulse has an interview with Marc Sumerak and Chris Eliopoulos. Same preview pages, just more hype. Can't wait until next week. Oh, hell. Guess I have to wait until July 17 when my first July shipment comes in. Double hell! I'll be in Vegas then. I'll have to wait until the 19th. Aarrgghh!
