Those are spectacular pages! Great storytelling, the words almost get in the way (in fact, I wish they'd used a smaller balloon). The characterization reminds me of Doran and the colored panels really set a mood. The village "feels" ancient even with all the tech flying around.
I think I will give this a look-see.

EEP! I told you I loved SW:DT #1, right, Ronda? I forgot to add it to my automatic pulls, though. I'll have to order 2 and 3 from Midtown Comcs ASAP!

I finally remembered to add it to my pulls with #7. I just got 3 and 4 this week from Midtown. Beautiful to look at, you and Doug are both "knocking it outta the park"! And the story's surprising in that it's making me care about characters I know nothing about... are these even established Star Wars characters, outside of Palpatine and Vader? I love that the A Jedi Falls! cover blurb was only in the figurative sense, in the lead character's (sorry, I'm blanking on his name) compromising his Jedi path. Not that he's necessarily falling to the Dark Side, and it doesn't appear to affect his abilities, just a moral dilemma.

Thanks Pov! It is a beautiful book, isn't it? Doug is quite brilliant and I don't think I could make him look bad if I tried. His art really pushes me to be better so I can do it justice, but I'm still never quite satisfied. Well, that's as it should be I guess. If we think we're great, what's to motivate us to keep pushing?
It is , I think, a very powerful story, and Doug's skill with facial expressions goes a long way toward enhancing that. Just wait until issue 5!
I should mention that I am not the colorist for issues 6-10. There is another creative team in place for that arc. To be honest, I'm not even sure if I'll be back for issue #11, but I hope so.
The two main characters, Jennir and Bomo, appeared in several issues, also drawn by Duug, of the old Star Wars Republic series. All the other characters are new, and some of the locations have never been depicted anywhere before.
