* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Anybody else think the murder of Sue Dibny was a cheap stunt that really didn't need to be done?
Would anybody have felt differently if they'd killed Ralph instead?
Anybody have the idea what was happening in the book didn't make that much sense? Did you care?

Her murder itself...not really. The revelation that went along with it...definately. After what happened with Wally in his book, it was a little much I thought.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Really. They've just gone from girlfriends in refrigerators to killing the unborn. Definitely felt it was just a cheap play on people's emotions. "You may not care if Sue Dibny dies, but what if she's... PREGNANT and dies!" Excuse me while I retch...

I already thought it was messed up they killed Sue but she was pregnant too? That's even more twisted of DC the normal.

Boy, this sure ain't your father's DCU.
I hate how they treat their back-burner characters nowadays. The Magnificent Seven are untouchable, yet anyone else is cannon fodder if they need to shock people.
Some people are like slinkys: not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you knock them down a flight of stairs

I know I am very upset over the casual death of Harbinger in Superman/Batman!

Drake, Jordan's coming back. And Barry died back when comics took risks, not try and maintain the status quo.
Just spouting off.

But what if Sue is the villain behind the whole thing, and faked her death? Dark SUE...!

As for why, who knows? Maybe to add drama (although that often backfires). They probably have an out to bring her back someday, if she still has the ability to duplicate herself.

It was rather a sudden (and, to me, unexpected) death, which gave it more of an impact in some ways, and less of an impact in others.
Anybody remember the character death in L.A. Law where someone fell down an elevator shaft with no foreshadowing or forewarning? I never saw it, but lots of folks were shocked at how sudden it was.

oh yeh, can't remember the character's name (Rosalyn?) but it was a great curveball.
What about when the @&&hole doctor on ER was unexpectedly and ironically crushed by falling helicopter?

C'mon, people.
these are comic characters. DC characters at that.
Even the obscure and minor ones generally don't stay dead.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

Yeah, five years from now John Byrne will decide that he wants to relaunch Elongated Man and Sue will be right by his side (along with five other characters that won't get explained).

Best bit of that episode was CJ showing some German visitors round a little later and as they waled past the lift shaft you could hear her say "nd she gefallen and gesplat". He he he. CJ was just the bestest character. As for Sue dying... ugh. I didn't get the issue (I might get the trade if it turns out to be any good) but I thought the fact she was pregnant was just insulting. I'd pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Sue was going to die but they just seemed to throw in the pregnancy thing to add that extra shock value when it wasn't needed at all. Wally losing his unborn children had a purpose and was shocking and horrifying but worked as part of the story. In IC it just seems like something that didn't really have a point other than to shock the readers.
