What we know.

1) The "original" legion of super-heroes exists.
2) That legion met Darkseid.
3) Darkseid was largely forgotten and thought of as a myth.
4)Darkseid was incapacited in a "coma" for a long time.
5) Darkseid had a different appearance for awhile before restoring himself to his "old"/Original look (this is before we know who he was).
6) Darkseid now has a "new" apperance since his death in countdown.
7) Darkseid didnt have any clear memories of his earlier defeat.
8) Mon-El has been restored to continuity.
9) Mon-El knew who Darkseid was and was quite scared. It was shown on one panel when Lady Memory restored Mon-EL's memories of Darkseid conquering Earth while he was in the P.Zone.
10) Darkseid conquered Earth with the Anti-Life Equation...he might have done the same without us knowing how he did it on Daxam.

So my question to you do you see this as a possiblity or am i just on some serious crack LOL.

Oh the possibility is that the "original" legion is from New Earth... and/or that these things i see are retroactive possibilities.

I myself do not try to connect DC "continuity" with anything in the future, since it's going to change again next Crisis-du-Jour, be it 1 year, 5 years or 10.

I just read the Great Darkness Saga (would you believe that I started reading LSA 2 issues after that storyline and never read it until this past week when I bought those back issues?) and I've been considering the same thing. I think it's relivent because, why else would the original Legion be back in continuity, why would the big Legion team-up of all 3 versions be a Final Crisis tie-in if there weren't some connection, and why would they stick Thom Kallor in the JSA and say that his starfield costume is actually a map to the multiverse? Personally, I think L3W is going to be a very pivotal series and will tie in to FC very directly. Just how, I haven't figured out, though.
