well I dont think that JL Dark is a lame name...that it does not bother me at all..however that name would be more attractive than just "Sentinels of Lights" or "JL Shadowpact" or "JL Sorcery" or "etc etc"....

but I do miss the most - JL Elite. frown

I appreciated Gail Simone's candor and ardor on Batgirl and Oracle. Oracle is not a creator-owned property. She's owned by DC, and they can do what they want with her, and that company has debated a long time on what to do with Babs, which I think is really cool. That it took so long, that there were so many years of Oracle stories actually speaks well for DC, and I appreciated, and had a lot of sympathy with, Gail's arguments about restoring Barbara to Batgirl. There clearly isn't a perfect choice to make with this character, and I'm glad she will still be around. I think the larger issue is whether DC can develop and make successful additional characters with disabilities. That's too important an element of diversity to ignore. I'll be reading Batgirl #1 enthusiastically.

...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

Yeah, for J'onn. Also, I think it likely that this might be a spot that DC's 'lesser' lights might be plugged in. More likely, lots of Wildstorm characters, too.

I always liked the name 'Stormwatch', too- and thought it a good premise for a title. Not sure how it'll translate to DC proper. If it really will be.

I like Apollo a lot, too- though, honestly, I think DC's kind of being lame in using him and Midnighter to fill that 'gay guy' quota and enable them to crow about how 'diverse' they are (still ageist as hell, though!) I much preferred the gay heroes who are actually heroes they had on their rolls (Obsidian, Starman, Tasmanian Devil, Piper, Achilles...). Apollo and Superman and Midnighter and Batman on the same Earth makes me uneasy.

Just as it would if Hyperion and Nighthawk from Marvel were all of a sudden shunted to the DCU to star in a Justice Supreme title.

Shadow of Justice could work, or League of Shadows.

Apollo and Midnighter in the same world as Superman and Batman? Huh. Not sure I care for that, either.

Given that BatGod has plot immunity, I suspect that any encounter with the Midnighter and the Bat is going to result in Midnighter inexplicably forgetting how to fight, since he's pretty much supposed to be Batman + Deathstroke + Prometheus with a dash of Bane on the side.

I'm much more interested in pre-Authority Stormwatch characters, like Winter and Battalion and Diva (probably mostly dead, and / or forgotten), and WildCore / WildCATs / Gen 13 / DV8 characters, so I'm definitely not the target audience for this particular Wildstorm / DCU merger.

Man, Gen 13 intermingled with Young Justice, written by Peter David, and drawn by J. Scott <strike>Lobdell</strike> (Campbell, whatever!). That would be freaktastic...

So at this point I'm leading toward "pass" regarding Lemire's books.
I was with you, but then I read this week's Frankenstein book and loved it, so his post-Flashpoint Frankenstein will get a look from me as well.

I love "Shadow League!" Unfortunately, they probably want it to be able to sit on a shelf next to JLA...
