The latest issue was sickening. sickeningly AWESOME.

The Will's dream! I thought it was real until he woke up and then ... BAM ... reality ... my stomach dropped because it fleshed out his character so much and seemed like real life at the same time. and then ... the real way those events happened were messy and very un-dream like. and the child gets a story purpose! OH SHIT Gwendolyn looks like she will be big trouble too and poor Alana with no powers. Gwendolyn by the way is super annoying ... but also her motivations are legible.

#10 was another great issue, clearly Saga is one of the top books of the year, or decade (or ever?). It's quite funny that Grandma is the warhorse and Grampa is all kootchy-kootchy with Hazel.

But of course I was quite saddened by the ending,
the loss of the magnificent Lying Cat
.

I thought it took a lot of courage to
get rid of lying cat ... a fantastic creature and story device.

Saga seems to keep going faster and faster!

I actually love them both ... and I was really annoyed when they showed up, I thought it was going to be some sort of formulaic ... mom and dad beat them up, separate them and take them home.

Instead it turned into something much more fun.

Saga is playing my like a fiddle, much like Chew, I've gone from being annoyed with the parents to
really sad the dad's dying
in a few issues!

I'm not convinced yet.

I like Lying Cat too much, therefore she can't die yet! Then again...I liked The Stalk, too. frown
I'm hoping Marko & crew will be close enough to snatch Lying Cat up before she becomes Explosive Decompression Cat.

I was particularly happy to see Lying Cat, and the evil looks he was giving back in the ship.

Barr's death was well done. Compared with all the gratuitous and gory death in comics, it was distinguished. We expected it, not so soon as this, but it was heroic and in the midst of his family.

Saga has been nominated for a Hugo. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't win!

Shocker that Saucer Country was nominated!

This week was another excellent issue!

The suspense, the tension. SO GOOD.

I loved every bit of it.

Saga #12 was exceptionally good! A tightly scripted and paced interaction that had me turning the page with burning anticipation.

And a great last page that has me dying for the next part!

PS - I love the idea that Heist is based on Warren Ellis, as pointed out by Bleeding Cool.

PPS - Saga has the best lettercol in comics.

Hm. Been reading this book since the start and still am not sure if I actually like it... rather strange smile On the one hand, I certainly can emotionally get into the two main characters, on the other hand, many of the supporting characters just seem so... silly? This is definitely not a book that is easy to describe smile

It's back for the third arc and it's as awesome as ever. Amazing how this comic is only a year or so old and it's already among the best in the industry--and not just because its every reviewer and award shows darling.

I love the look they've chosen for the author. I hear he may be based on Warren Ellis though I can't tell if that is serious. It's so simple and yet so awesome.

The scene with Lying Cat and the slave girl in the latest issue actually made me tear up a little. Best single page of the year.

Well, 20 issues into it, and Saga remains firmly in the "best in comics" category. Every issue is just chalk-full of brilliant storytelling by both Vaughn & Staples, and the latest issue was no exception.

Vaughn is a master storyteller when it comes to just incredible, momentous scenes. He was awesome at it with Y: the Last Man, and now he's just taken it to a whole new level. In the latest issue, there is one scene with Princess Robot, her newborn and a robot janitor that exemplifies this. Saying more will probably spoil it, but there is a scene like that in just about every issue.

Ever since it arrived people have been raving about Saga and with good reason. It REALLY IS THAT GOOD.
